Hello. I have an Asus Maximus IX Apex mobo, and an i9 9900k cpu. Am I right that I need this pinmod on the CPU and a modified bios to make work my PC? I found many modified bios on the net but I am a little confused which is the best choice to make this mod (I don't have an SPI programmer so I will need to make the mod to unlock the bios write protection). Anybody can help me a little?

Just a question from my side. I own a Clevo N950KP6 with i7-7700/soldered nvidia 1060 and would like to flash this Bios to unlock coffee Lake CPU Support. Is is then possible to overclock the CPU via multiplier though the motherboard has a h270 chipset?

Do i have to perform a vga bios flash? The description is talking about MXM cards and mine is not a MXM card so i should not update the vbios? I tried to check the vga UEFI Bios Version but the GOP…bat shows a Blank UEFI version when executed. I started the bat as admin.

Are there new/more BIOS options unlocked when i flash this modified BIOS ? Something like undervolting?

I don't think there is a way to unlock multiplier control on the H series chipset.

@dsanke i flashed your custom bios on an origin pc EON15-X which is based on the p750dm-g chassis. it has the lvds display which is unfortunate but it is what it is. i flashed the gtx 9 series bios and drivers install but the gpu is now locked down to 405mhz and its stuck in the p5 power state. in the bios the card is marked as "Unknown VGA". is there any way to fix this. the 8700 non-k i installed works fine but the gpu runs terribly.

Is it possible that the gpu is damaged then? Cause I can't get it to run faster than 405 MHz on core and memory and it's significantly cutting into gaming performance

P state issues usually is a vbios thing. Damage to a card means it just does not work.

it says you're a company rep. i don't want to get you in any trouble but is there any chance you have the stock clevo 965m vbios that you could throw my way or an idea of where to find one? i can't seem to find one for the computer. if not no big deal, its just a bummer.

I'm not sure the micro code for the older chips was added in.

P775tm1 doesn't support 6th gen. Only 7, 8 and 9 afaik. You should check OP for his custom bios and see if there is one that supports it (the 6th gen of cpus)
Correction: 8th and 9 gen only

It's certainly worth stepping to at least the 8th anyway performance wise.

weird to ask, but now there is a comet lake bga-to-lga CPU (QTJ1 0000 and QTJ2 0000),so i wonder will you make a custom bios for those or should i get the bios from the vendor?

Highly doubt @dsanke will lose his time with those and doubt the vendor will support these laptops as well
And you can add the microcodes yourself with coffeetime 0.99

You could commission him perhaps? But then you may as well buy a retail chip.

Since the Clevo P870tm1 isn't listed when I downloaded the zip file, is it safe to upgrade to a 9th gen core i9 9900k from an i7 8700k for that laptop?

Oh thanks! Do you need to flash that bios if you want to upgrade to i9 9900k on that computer since I bought mine from Origin? Also, there are three versions of p870tm bioses in the file. Which ones should I choose?

P870tm1 should support 9900k with stock bios since it supports 8th and 9 gen

I see so I guess I am all set! How can you tell if a laptop (like mine) supports 9th gen or not?

The 9900KS really needs a custom BIOS and tweaking to work but can be nice to get a good clock/voltage even if you run it below 5Ghz.
