Lol, alright. I'm sorry, I'm really accustomed to the 'one special laptop for a person' syndrome.

Or maybe its just that I want to ensure if I'm going to have more than one, its going to be used and not collect dust (like my family seems to do with old ones, they don't even try to donate the damn things to charity if that much, lol)

I don`t think we`ll see laptops supporting both DDR2 and DDR3 anytime soon, I was under the impression that you need different slots for them (200 vs 204 pin)

guys don't be excited. The chances of getting a picture are very slim. I'm sure alot of it is all hush hush. I think daweism, that if you go, you need to have stealth cameras everywhere. maybe wear a button up shirt with a camera as a button lol.

My laptop is in the 'Building' Stage now. Order is being custom built and extensively tested. :D

Of course, I'm sure they are basing that on the fact as the new parts come in. But still, ETA has not changed and things should be on schedule according to them. :)

    So excited....

I'm sure its on the basis as the new parts (processor, 320GB 7,200 hard drive) come in. But yes, it's in the Building stage as far as Status is concerned. :D

    Quadro, not quatro :D
The 8800M GTX and the P9500 or 9600 seem to be enough for today`s need.
But then again, the quad was rumored to not fit this TU...
The whole debacle probably got a lot of people confused...

Who still has their order for the laptop with PCMW on this forum? I would like to get an estimate of how many comrades are left :)

(I'm staying til the end though, I doubt a better deal than what was presented would ever come out)

Never liked Dell laptops, they seem to need replacement parts by the end of the first year. Maybe the XPS line is different.

Well , Dell are a huge company and afford pretty much anything, including that amazing CC accidental warranty...you just can't beat that.
I wish Sager had something similar...like 4 years with NBD shipping...mmmm

Looks like all those who missed the $500 sale now have another chance, for the weekend at least. :)

    http://www.pcmicroworks.com

Orders expected to be made 2nd half of June (3rd week of June) and shipped late June/Early July.

Edit: ooooh, no more ETA on the 320GB 7,200 drive. They must have gotten it. This makes me happy. I can't wait to play with the laptop for my birthday. :D

Deathwinger, yours has the 8800M GTX, so the problem is non-existent here.
The real boo-boo is for those who expected quad core and 9800M GTXs....

    Only time will tell...

But whats the disadvantage of having an already powerful 15", no big problems (based on Clevo's reputation) and then later on, just supposing, it could be upgraded?

Won't that be worth the risk?

I went Vista Ultimate. In my opinion, Vista has gotten better since SP1. Furthermore, if you follow some guides on the net to disabling some unneeded services at this time like IPv6, etc. It will optimize and run at lightning speed :)

Yeh, use msconfig and go to services, note, only start disabling stuff once you see what you can disable at a site that gives you a Guide on what to do. You make end up stopping auto updates and stuff, etc. if you don't follow the guides lol.

Well, if all goes well, PCMW buyers will have the laptop to test out a good while before everyone else. NOT THAT IT MATTERS!

Because 6 months from now, everyone who wanted the laptop and is going to buy it would have it and the only thing separating individuals would be the service they receive from the respective resellers. (of course, I know I would have gotten the best price but shhh..... :D )

2002, so they are four years younger than XoticPc.

Yes, I hope these guys get cleared. So far they haven't told me anything false so I cannot hold anything against them. They have been practical and reasonable with me. But right now, their name is in the dirt here and they need redeem themselves to be taken seriously.

I should cancel my order and jump on the powernotebooks N5973 bandwagon now? :D

I say stick with PCMW, you can always cancel and get it elsewhere. You`re already on the list, so stay there for safety.
If not, and the 860TU does only get released in July 15th, Sager won`t have it for preorder until close to that anyway.
