Many people believe, and probably rightly so, that newer companies have a higher rate of failure than those that have been in business for several years. Statistically 80% of all new companies fail in the first 3 years.

Further, it would be nice to know whether a company is telling the truth.

Nirvana, notwithstanding this we really appreciate your kind comments and your confidence in us...thank you :)

He just wants future discounts :p

    Anyway,Edge or Aurora?
I think Aurora has a nicer ring, but already been used by AW.
Or is it A.U.R.O.R.A ? Like a ship of some sorts?

Thx for the encouragement eleron, but don't worry. I'm sticking with PCMW. From what I have read from user reviews, from individuals on this site who bought from them and the how accommodating they are, I have no reason to cancel my order.

Plus, I set out to get a powerful 15". If I go and get another 17" laptop, I'm defeating the purpose. So no N5973(4) for me.

When there is evidence from the Sect'y of State, Whois, www.archive.org and ResellerRatings that all point to the start date in 2006 you have much more evidence than their word.

You can use the same sources to verify PowerNotebooks.com's start date (except for the Sect'y of State since we are not a corporation), as well as Xoticpc.com's start date. Oh, and you can also use the www.bbb.org to verify our start dates as well...however PCMW does not show up there at all.

I think this talk about PCMW and their origins should stop . After all, everyone is entitled to buy whenever and from wherever they want to, be it Sager, Xotic,PNB, PCMW,Eurocom etc.

As I have done in the past, the best deal won. And at that time it was Xotic.
    Today it might be PCMW.

    ^--^

Of course they were...but then they all do have one thing in common with PCMW don't they?

Look, my purpose here is not to bash a worthy competitor, or to put ourselves above another. My only purpose has been to help educate and point out misinformation that could be material in helping people make their decisions.

If I have offended anyone in doing so I sincerely apologize. For those that have appreciated the information and perspective that I have shared, I am deeply grateful for your Reps, emails, and kind comments here.

Wish I could provide a confirmed answer, but unfortunately we do not have a confirmed "ship by" date yet. As mentioned before you are welcome to email [email protected] and we can email you as soon as it is available on our website. :) (Donald is doing the same)

If intel doesn`t screw it up and delays montevina, 10Aug would be reasonable.
    BUT:
-never buy a laptop in the last minute, you need to test it a bit before ,so that there is time for fixing ANY possible issue
-buy what you need NOW, forget about later, unless you can afford to wait.
-this is new technology, not tested yet, who`s to say it won`t have problems? Montevina will be safe in 3-4 months from now, when others will have tested it thoroughly.

Base your decisions on your needs first and then on the possibilities.

In that case, I wish you all the luck :)
I don't foresee problems, but I am a very sceptic person when it comes to new things, they have to prove themselves before I can trust them.
Thank God I`m alone on this one :)

That would depend a lot on

    1) whether you want to wait until the early August launch of the Intel 5300 802.11 a/g/n wireless card or you will accept the Intel 4965 802.11 a/g/n wireless card. The difference is primarily speed, but the 4965 is plenty fast as it is, and you can always swap it out for the 5300 card later, or better yet wait for the Combo WiFi/WiMax card once it comes out.

    and

    2) where your door is and what shipping method you select.

If you are ok with the 4965 wireless card then you could be in the group that should start shipping just after July 15th, and then it should be no problem getting where ever your door is by the end of July. However if you want to wait until early August for the 5300 card then depending on where your door is you may need to select an expedited shipping method.

You should see the new models on our websites the day of the launch.

Everything is expected to be in the warehouse ready to build...except the 5300 WiFi and combo WiFi/WiMax cards.

I know I'm being lazy and I'm sure there's enough info around regarding this...
    But well, here it goes:
As an European Costumer, from where (and when) can I get the new M860TU? Does XoticPC or Powernotebooks ship to Europe? Is there an international warranty?
    Cheers,
    M

xoticpc will ship internationally, though if you have any problems you will have to pay for shipping both ways (to the states and back is pretty expensive). There are uk clevo resellers and I'd wager that at least some of them will be stocking the M860TU. We will find out which ones soon.

    Read the clevo guide...

There you go, Kobalt will have it, thanks Neil

Cool! Any more retailers? The more the merrier... The costumer should always have a large spectrum of choices to make the market more competitive and thus, increasing value for money. :)

The only 3 with reps on here (afaik) are powernotebooks, xoticpc and kobalt, so they're the only ones you'll get a response from on here. For other options, you'll just have to wait till they start popping up on sites to order...

    www.pcmicroworks.com

International Shipping available, specify your country in the second address line.
The warranty covers you outside the U.S. as well.

the warranty covers it, yes. However you pay for the 2 way shipping which will be expensive. Get it in your country if you can

Exactly... No point having to pay 100GBP every time I have to send it for repairs. If there are retailers in Europe, that's the best.

That ATI is probably the Viper thing, 3870 which MAY score better than the 8800M GTX, but it is worse in games indeed. Oh well...

this is so stupid. I want the 9800GTX, even if it can't be done, also wth is with the $455 upgrade. I ordered it at $155 and I will not allow them to charge me higher. This is all really really going down the hole. even though it already has.

Well, I'm guessing they're gonna ship a little after the 14th, so you wouldn't recieve it for a while after that.

University doesn't start until the second week of September, so I have plenty of time for my edge to arrive.
