Seems you've forgotten most of the point of the thread to which you refer; specifically, long-term, not short-term reliability of the vendor's word - anyone yet tried taking advantage of the upgrade policy they paid for, or the 3-year warranty? Until those pan out, the issue isn't entirely closed.

Pffff... you guys are tiring!
Can't we just talk about the laptops? Can you show us pictures? Benchmarks? Experiences?
That would really be so much better than all this never ending discussion... -
bump!
Pictures, benches you asked for but my post was quickly lost in some crazy discussionThere should be many other out in the wild so hopefully others will be posting their results soon also
Still looking for a UT3 bench...

Hybridgear did close it's doors and re-open as PCMW. And it is fitting to scrutinize their practices.
I agree - the issue is not entirely closed. However, allowing the topic to rise and fall just as any other would be more appropriate at this juncture for at least four reasons.
First, having the subject as a "sticky" is a lot like George Bush's Terror Alerts. While they may have done some good, many persons were put into a frenzy by misreading them. It can also be likened to a chicken little analogy. Consequently other resellers benefit while PCMW is being discriminated against and it exhibits forum bias. It is as if it is PCMW buyers vs. everyone else and discrimination is rampant.
Second, the length of time proposed to keep the sticky up is arbitrary. It has been suggested that we wait until PCMW honors its warranties and trade in plan. That amounts to roughly at least another 3 year sentence as a sticky at the top of this forum. Why not 10 years? Why not 1 year? A reasonable amount of time has passed since it became a sticky.
Third, there is no present danger posed to forum users. Those who ordered from PCMW were warned and fled to xotic and power but few remained. PCMW was one of the first to take pre-orders for the M860TU and many pre-ordered from them because of that. Therefore there was a present danger. That situation no longer exists. Other retailers now offer the same laptop at currently a better price than what PCMW offers.
Fourth, I agree that we should earnestly watch PCMW, but we should allow separate threads to be made which define and categorize those specific issues or complaints just like any other seller is critiqued on these forums. Attempting to lump issues/complaints into one thread is only doing members of this forum a disservice.
For these reasons the "sticky" should be removed and rendered status equivalent to any other topic. -
Agreed... so that we can all focus on what's relevant! The laptop...

I'm definitely getting one when the price comes down. -
Also I just noticed the x9100 ES label?? -
I was thinking.. Benches and pics for this notebook really need a new thread considering the discussion going on here
So a new thread where others might post their benches or move these Edge benches over to the 860TU thread??
Anyone? -
Ok so updated Edge Benchies (UT3) and some more interesting info on the memory speeds....
