I did record those, will post later. CPU temps were actually quite a bit higher, but GPU wasn't too much.

Sice the developer of this BIOS is active in this thread, can you answer me 2 questions about my future config?
1. Can I enable VT-d and VT-x in the stock BIOS?
2. Is my future config supported (Clevo P170SM-A, 16GB 1600Mhz, i7-4810MQ, Nvidia GTX 870m, WD Blue 1TB, Crucial M500 240GB)?
I found things about the P170SM-A, but I want to be sure, because if i can enable the virtualisation technologies in stock bios that's everything I'll ever need...
Thanks guys! -

1. The options are not there.
2. The system bios on these machines is consistent across all configurations. -
Do these great benchmarks really translate In terms of gaming as well? .. I am really debating between a 860m and 870m .. can you post some gaming benchmarks with these new OC settIngs
thanks In advance HTWingNut -
He posted it in the OP.
-
Yeah, maybe I need to start a new thread for this new gen of BIOS.
-
that would be great ...from what you already posted Oced 860m fps = 870m ... In that case do you think a 870m can be also OCed at this same level ... Is 860m overclocking well only because It Is maxwell ? .. If OCed 870m can equal 880m ... then getting a 870m compared to 860m Is still worth It ... hope someone can post 870m oc benchmarks as well...
-
I would REALLY like this mod for the Gigabyte P34G v2 also with the maxwell gtx 860m. Any news on that?
-
870m is an 880m with lower clocks and 1 less SMX. It does overclock well from what I've seen but clock for clock will still be slower than the 880m with all 8 SMX and also has a 192-bit bus as opposed to a 256-bit bus.
Its the same core so in a perfect world, you would be able to achieve 880m clocks. Its only around 20% slower than an 880m at stock anyway. -
That 870M is basically a 192-bit 680M with higher core and mem clocks. At stock it's about 15% faster than a 680M.
-
Meaker@Sager Company Representative
Pretty much, turbo boost is there, the 192bit means 8 ROPs are also missing. Stock there is that nice boost. Tweaked the 680m will take the lead.

Hi Prema,:hi2:
I just wanted Know , Whether PREMA BIOS MOD will be Release for New Dell Alienware 17 (BIOS Ver 10) with GTX880m 8 GB DDR5 or NOT ? I am ready to Pay Donation if PREMA BIOS MOD will release for OC version of GTX880m 8 GB in coming future .
Thanks In Advance

All you need is to use another vBIOS base.
Ask svl7 at techinferno if he can make one and use the latest base. It's his brainchild, I won't touch it.

Prema, what is the difference between what is provided via your regular download and a Mythlogic system? If that is something you cannot answer I understand.
-
If you purchase a system from any of the "Prema Mod Partner Shops" you get a special version covered by warranty, you receive updates earlier and those versions contain extra tweaks as per their request.
Oh and of course they have their own logos and other cosmetic customization.deadsmiley and Ethrem like this. -
Good to know. Less worrying about whether or not Sager or your reseller will care when they see a Clevo BIOS on the machine when its sent for RMA instead of the Sager BIOS it came with.
-
Can we have some screenshots from modded bios? I am interesting in Clevo W355SS and specially memory settings.
-

It can take some time to log everything but everything that can be unlocked will be.
-
Speed, Timings, it's all there...
-
I watched the video ... so i am ok with the settings provided ... good work .
Which overclock settings will hang the system? Need to take out cmos cable or a key combination
on reset is enough? -
If something doesn't work it resets on its own. In case it doesn't taking out one RAM is enough to reset it. If that doesn't work take the AC Power, battery & CMOS battery out for 30s.

Hey Prema, hows it going? Getting a new laptop tomorrow, a p370sm-a, got the V1 bios downloaded
Do you have a list of the changed from the stock bios?
Also wondering if you do a modded bios for the GTX 880 that ill have in this machine? and what kind of differences does it make if it exists?
Cheers
love your work and will drop you something via paypal in the next couple of days

Prema leaves the vbios modding to the guys at tech inferno who have that covered.

Intermittent beeps without dedicated graphics allow to conclude that in the bios
something is absent, or locked? Or runs the P150EM only with a 2nd graphics card?
I removed the ati card to circumvent the crappy enduro & ati drivers. The built in
Intel gpu runs on 192bit bus, wide enough for the most applications. But no way
to work on a longer time with it, just a beeping notebook. As it finished with
loading the os, it straight shut down.
Any constructive input is appreciated.
Anyone has an adapted vga bios for a dell gtx680m 2GB card for the p150em? -
Meaker@Sager Company Representative
The EC shuts down the notebook if no temperature sensor data comes from the MXM slot.
The intel IGP uses the system memory bus (128bit DDR3) and is much slower than any decent dedicated GPU.
There are a few rare exceptions but because of the aforementioned temperature feedback requirement (done differently to most other brands) you have to use a sager/clevo card to boot properly.Ethrem likes this. -
I was wondering why it shut off when the graphics cards were nonfunctional, thanks for that.

No, these bios files are not for MSI systems.

Hi,
are you still searching for a beta tester for the w740su?
I own one of these..... -
Hi all.
Sorry if I my posting in here is not appropriate but I know no where else to post on this and I have searched extensively.
Does anyone know how I can get hold of the p370em Stock Bios 1.00.01 & EC 1.00.03 ?
And, btw, does anyone know if Clevo is gone for good, trying to go to their site I get redirected to Eurocom !? -
Clevo redirection is happening from time to time... it is weird!
Stock bioses are also at the site of Perma biosesdeadsmiley likes this. -
Thanks for the reply and info supplied.
Have checked Prema's out but unfortunately what I need is not listed at all.
I am specifically looking for Bios 1.00.01 & EC 1.00.03 for the Clevo P370EM, this was stock release in 2012
There does not seem to be an owners lounge for the Clevo P370EM, even the Clevo Bios thread does not seem to cater for it.
Is this an oversight and would it be alright posting in *Official Sager NP9380, NP9390 / Clevo P370SM, P370SM3, P375SM Owner's Lounge** -
Is there a specific reason you want that bios? I see a stock 08 with 09 EC on Prema's site. It's generally better to use a newer bios.

Hi Ethrem, and thanks for the link supplied.
Yes, the reason is Bios/EC compatibility, corrupt Bios. -
If you downgrade to such an old version there is a high chance of bricking the system.
If the system is already bricked then a stock BIOS update can not be used to re-program the chip manually, it needs to be a dump from a running system.
If you are confident of what you are doing then drop me PM and I'll see if I can find and send you those files. -
I have a problem with my xmg p304 (4710qm / W230ss).
If i disable Hyperthreading in Bios the system won't boot.
It's quite important for me to have Hyperthreading disabled.
Does anyone else has this behaviour? Any solutions?
Apart from that the system runs perfectly. -
Meaker@Sager Company Representative
What bios version are you on?
-
I installed the whole package of "W230SS Prema Mod v1.1 (For FHD screen)".
The customer Bios version should be "XMG P304 BIOS 1.03.06".(Release 2014/05/06). -
Try holding the power button down. When I did this on my W230ss, if I held down the button, the lights would come on (still holding button), then they would go off again (still holding button..), and then on again after a couple seconds (finally let go). Then it would boot with HT off.
Restarting works normally, but everytime completely powered off, you have to hold down the button for a while. -
For certain feature changes in BIOS (dGPU, ASPM, HT...) we need to remove the PSU (AC Power) once in off-state in order for the change to take effect on the next boot.
Just updated the P15xSM-A and P17xSM-A with new ECs. (link in my signature)
