94% NTSC 120Hz 5ms does not exist. I can tell you that. MSI is lying. Either it is my panel (VERY falsely rated 94% NTSC, no gsync, 25ms response time, AHVA) or it is GT73 panel (72% adobe RGB, 5ms, TN, gsync). Their listed panel is not sold in any existing laptop.

You are telling that MSI is lying about the screen on GE72 or about all their 94% NTSC 120Hz 5ms ?
I mean, GT73 comes with Chi Mei N173HHE-G32, which is the good screen I want, right? And you are telling that GE72, don't come with a Chi Mei N173HHE-G32 ?

I will contact Donald from HID to make sure.

Ask for the exact screen model from Mr. Donald

They can find out by launching AIDA64 then going to the Monitor section to see the screen model:

Yes, I am informing you for a fact that MSI is lying. Because they always do.

    "First 120Hz 5ms laptop, GT73VR!" - MSI, 2016
"Oh really now?" - Me, sitting on a 120Hz 5ms laptop from 2013, looking up 120Hz 5ms laptops from 2011 because I know they existed.

The N173HHE-G32 is a 1080p 120Hz 5ms, Gsync TN panel that can get 75% Adobe RGB with calibration. Nowhere near 94% NTSC.
The B173HAN01.2 is a 1080p 120Hz 25ms, non-Gsync AHVA (IPS) panel that can get a piss-poor 67% Adobe RGB with calibration, but is RATED for 94% NTSC because AUO are lying bastardly cows.
There is no 1080p, 120Hz, 5ms, IPS, 94% NTSC, Gsync panel. PERIOD.

    Nice, I will tell him.

I see. Thanks for clarifying all this.

And what about the AUO B173QTN01.0 1440p 120Hz TN 5ms ? Do you have info about that one?

It is indeed 120Hz 1440p TN, but the ms is closer to 10. The Chi Mei 1080p panel will hold under 8ms for the most part, making it suitable for 120Hz, but the 1440p AUO will not. Also it has colour banding on certain colours; I don't know if it would bother you but it certainly would bother me.

yeah try calling MSI support right now and tell them that, they will swear to you that N173HHE-G32 screen is NOT GSYNC! Even if you show them a screenshot of the NVCPL with GSYNC enabled! They don't even know what they're selling.

I swapped out the 120Hz in the DM3 with the AUO 4k from my DM1. Ah such bliss :D

It is pretty awesome. Though im currently working on getting the 7700k's temps down in the DM3, the same processor in the DM1 at the same clocks/voltage is running at least 5C cooler.

Gaming performance will be fairly similar. The P670HS/NP8177 looks to be the best fit.

Thanks guys, I think I've finally decided.

I will go with P670HS for my Mrs.
And the MSI GT73 with 6820HK + GTX1080 for me. I decided to expend some more on graphics and get less extras.

    Let me ask you guys....
My friend just got a spare kit of 2x8GB Patriot Viper 4 DDR4 2400MHz and he won't use, I'm thinking in getting it from him.
Is this good quality? How is it compared to the GSkill and HyperX one?

    Thanks.

I would recommend G.Skill from a stability and performance point of view. Patriot is good too. If you're getting it for a better price then get it.

Much like with hard drives, the quality between each brand is pretty comparable. Kingston and G.Skill are "bigger names", perhaps, but Patriot is fine.

One other thing to consider is support.

The difference between brands can be how they overclock. And some can have compatibility problems with some laptop models.

It will be fine at stock speeds... Only when OCing, it might not be as good.. And honestly, not worth the hassle of OCing RAM!
