or you can use DDU and hit the pretty button that says "Disable Driver Updates Over Windows Update"

That reverts to default state once DDU has completely drivers uninstallation!
Wagnard said many people complained that drivers weren't auto updated by MSFT :D

That could be a driver issue if you are using BIOS defaults. If your CPU voltage is too low, or you are using manual RAM timings that are not correct, it will cause that and other BSODs. Since you applied different firmware, any custom settings that we're previously stable may need some adjustments to regain that stability. If you are undervolting or overclocking, stop doing so and see if the BSOD problem goes away. If it does, don't waste any time with drivers. Burn those calories on tuning instead.

Also, for troubleshooting purposes, stop using USB-C video output and see if that stops the BSOD problems if removing custom voltage, overclock or RAM settings does not resolve it.

There. I fixed that for you. Smart people do not allow the Redmond Retards to automatically update drivers, especially on systems that are functioning correctly. Great way to totally screw up something that isn't broken.

Hi, I have an XMG U717(Clevo P775DM-G) with I5 6500 which I intend to upgrade to 7700K and gtx 1080 and managed to get it stay cool in the 50 ties to max temps 60 Degrees Celsius in gaming, I supose Prema Bios/Vbios would bring more, hence OC is already unlocked,I undervolted also, but I still can not remove the power limit.
So, if Prema or someone else can show mercy and feed me a modded bios/Vbios, I will explain and show with photos eventually, how I did managed to get the machine 50-60C tamed in OC gaming and even Fur Mark and the most graphic heavy tasks, and am also ready to reward accordingly anything I would get, be it modded Bios or Vbios.
Thanks Prema in advance and also everyone here.

Furmark the GPU extra throttles so you can get higher temps out of other tests.

It never goes over 60 C, no matter what test, game or benchmarking, not even 61 C, 60 C is the hottest it can get, allthough if it would have been hot outside, 40 C or so, it might get to mid 65 or maybe shy for 70 C, maybe, did not tested it in such conditions yet.

I understand prema BIOS is in every way better than default BIOS, but if i dont plan to mess with this setting is it still worth it? I mean does it come with default settings or features (other than the mentioned, as as i said, i wont use them) different from the normal BIOS?

Thanks, I actually got another BSOD since then and saw the culprit as SynTP.sys. Looks like synaptic touchpad driver.
I've uninstalled it today, will see how it goes. I never use the touchpad anyway.
And I've switched back to rear video ports long time ago anyway, so not using USB-c for video.

With regards to overclocking and undervolting, as far as I know, the stock BIOS doesn't show these settings hence I have not considered overclocking without a Prema BIOS (which I don't think I can get).

Hijacking this thread for a question too, I have a p150em on premamod, and as I moved forward to something else I'm in the process of converting it to a low power passive HTPC without Screen. (only hdmi cable to TV)

I want to run solely on the igpu and CPU, but I know the GPU cannot be removed else the computer shuts down after about 3minutes in. (fan at 100% and shutdown)

I bought a 5870m which worked like a charm for 10 euros, and followed one of @Prema advice being removing the vbios chip so the gpu doesn't boot.

Well, it does and draws power/create heat, which is an issue since I want to run the GPU without any heatsink for space saving.

Do you know a way to tell the EC to ignore the "no temp. sensor because no GPU" ?

Of another way of disabling the GPU enough for it not to draw power, but not so much as to keep the temperature sensor?

Also, did anyone try the alpine 11 or 12 passive on those clevo ? I can't find any bracket that fits the cpu size so I think it will end with zipties.

No, a prema BIOS cannot help with this. The HM is very picky about what cards it can take.

as Meaker already mentioned, the Clevo HM series does not like Dell GPUs at all, no vbios or sbios will help you in that regard...best to stick to clevo cards!

@Prema , I know you get asked this a lot, and given the lengths people have gone and still go to to steal your intellectual property, I can completely understand if you say no, but I would really appreciate a bios for a Sager NP9877. I want to upgrade to the i9 9900k and basically fix my thermal throttling. I would be absolutely be happy to make a donation to you to compensate you for your hard work. I simply didn't know about you or your reseller partners before I bought my laptop. I don't have a song for you, but I hope you can help me. Thank you for reading this.

This is all great inBios - Thanks! Quick question in regards to this specific benefit:

Restores ability to control RAM timings, clock speeds and enables the utilization of XMP profiles
Does this mean I could put a Kingston HyperX Impact DDR4 3200Mhz CL20 in a Clevo p750tm... and run it at the full 3200Mhz?

CL20 is JEDEC spec and is extremely loose, so it'll be fine.

I recently bought a Samsung 970 Evo 1TB PCIe SSD for my Origin EON 17-X (Clevo P770ZM - non G-Sync - 980M) laptop and discovered that despite Windows seeing the drive just fine the BIOS itself can't see it at all so it can't boot off of it.

I was wondering if anyone could help me at all. I loaded the v1.03.15 BIOS with EC V 1.03.09 and second EC V 1.03.05 from here: http://forum.notebookreview.com/threads/clevo-bios-older-models-released-in-after-2014.790474/

Unfortunately that didn't help. I thought for sure that since my laptop supposedly supported PCIe M.2 SSDs I would be fine. I'd prefer to make this the boot drive if possible as I really don't want run in dual drive mode, especially with the slower SATA SDD running Windows. I see that PremaMod v2 looks to be my only hope to get this functionality.

    Thank you!

As I own a P751DM-G laptop and like it quite a lot so I was looking for an unlocked quality BIOS. After a lot of research I read that the Prema Mod for Clevo laptops is considered the best among the unlocked BIOSes.

Right now my question would be, how is it possible to get or buy a copy of that BIOS mod? The website premamod.com did not provide any info, so maybe someone on this forum (perhaps even the author himself) could provide a few details on how to obtain the latest Prema Mod for the P7xxDM-G series?

A big thank you to any helpful advice!

You need to purchase the laptop from a Prema mod partner reseller. It is not possible to purchase the Bios mod seperately.

Yes, I also found that it is not available for free. However I hope for a possible purchase option, which I would like to request. I hope to get in touch with Prema directly to discuss the details.

As I already own the laptop, the partner shop option is not feasible for me.

Very unlikely. The whole reason Prema has shutdown his site was due to people stealing his work. It's not about money, otherwise he would have put it up for sale. Unless you are a person who is known to him that he can trust, It's unlikely you'll recieve it from him.

You probably need to contact other people who can unlock the BIOS for you instead.

Yes I see the point and I definetely value the hard work of people who put a lot of effort into their work and obviously do not want it to get stolen or abused. I fully agree on that. Anyways, I will try to get in contact with him. Maybe we could work out some sort of NDA or license contract for his mod which would give him some assurance, so everyone could be happy eventually.

regarding other unlocked BIOSes, I already found one from BAKED, however it lacks some quality control and the unlocked interface has several bugs and issues. From what I could read, the Prema mods are by far more mature.

    Hi,

@Prema Thank you for all your hard work, would it maybe be possible for you send me your latest p150sm-a (4810mq+870m) bios?

Apparently for windows 10 to work without issues I need 1.05 bios but it is only sold by eurocom :/

    Hi.

As i know, it's impossible to get a prema bios without buying new laptop from Eurocom.
But after bought laptop with prema bios from Eurocom, they won't provide prema bios updates.
I asked them for (update my prema for the newer version) and they replied newer bios comes buying new laptop.
Prema bios is nice because unlocked, but impossible to get the updates after.

I am sorry to hear that you bought from Eurocon, but they have been removed from the Prema Mod Partner Program in 2016 due to their lack of ethics and repeatedly breaking agreements.
Though they have continued to use the Prema name to sell an "unlocked BIOS" for 100-200$, it has nothing to do with us, is no longer a "Prema Mod" and will never be again:
