The vBios for the GTX 980M usually provides you with more power for your card so it can go far and beyond. I don't know if Prema gives his BIOS out to people he doesn't know, since there are people who stole his work and presented it as theirs (if i got this right).

Thanks for telling me what the V-Bios does, sounds quite to be a must have, but when installed you do can instal the latest Nvidia drivers as usualy without having any problems?
This explains why they are nowhere to found anymore, really such a**h***s ... well it is the internet, offering something for free, without a ton of proof of who made it, results in getting it stolen. :(
Still I hope that I will get it, because I just want to use my 970 Evo afterall. :)

Sadly the meme is a thing. Some people here overclock their LGA CPUs to redicolous clockspeeds while claiming it runs like a desktop completely ignoring the fact that its throttling and dying.

Depends on model etc. in your case it would still allow you to install drivers normally since your machine natively supports maxwell.

I'm not sure if other manufacturers here have EC that fixes the issue and fixes the NVME compatibility. You can maybe ask @Eurocom Support

Some people want to see the world (or rather their Laptop) burn!
Why? For the glory of Satan of course. :D

Thanks for the clarification, thats a relief.

Well maybe, I'll look around and ?who knows, maybe I am lucky an Prema will give me his mod. ^^
Btw what do you mean with "EC"?

    Hi Prema,
I bought a laptop from HIDevolution it's model is PA71ES-G, I asked them about prema bios and they said that this model doesn't have it. Are you planning on supporting it in the future?

Is there a site that lists the current versions of Prema BIOS? I have a HID Evolution P770ZM-G that I would like to update the BIOS if it is available.

No, the EVOC High Performance Systems P955ER is a BGA CPU based laptop, so it will not have the Custom Prema BIOS.

The Custom Prema BIOS is only available for current models with LGA desktop CPUs.

Check with your Clevo (or Sager) related reseller. If they're a Prema partner, they should be able to answer your questions... And hopefully update if one exists for your model. See the map for known Prema Mod Partners - https://premamod.com/partner/

If you're reseller is not a Prema Partner, you most likely won't find a Prema based BIOS. If that is the case, investigate Intel XTU or ThrottleStop ( http://forum.notebookreview.com/threads/the-throttlestop-guide.531329/ ) for alternatives to controlling your machine in Windows.

    Guys,

I joined the discussion when Batman (Sager NP9752) was about to arrive, back in Jan 2015. Few days back I decided to upgrade storage with Samsung evo 970 m.2 nvme pcie. Cloned old SSD to 970 successfully. However 970 m.2 is not showing in the bios. I am seeing couple of the posts where users were helped by Prema (Prema Bios). I really need some help if there is any way around, or I can get Prema Bios for the same from him.

Prema, if you are seeing this post please help me. Thank you for all your efforts and good work.

I reached out to Sager, but yet waiting for response.

Ok, since I couldn't seem to send a PM (what constitute as a Good Post anyway :<), I think I might just give a shot in this thread.

    @Prema

Sorry to bother you, but I've been searching all around the web and it appears that you could be my best, last hope atm :<

So I currently have a Clevo P650rs (6700hq+1070) that will go blackscreen whenever a stress kicks in (gaming, etc.) Diagnostic from my reseller says it's due to failed GTX1070, yet the system is out of warranty, and I cannot afford a new system atm, after some tweaking I realized that using MSI afterburner to underclock the GPU memory by -500mhz and clock speed by -250mhz can somehow mitigate this issues, although the system would still go blackscreen after booting (reboot 2-3 times cause Windows to boot normally) or sudden stress on GPU right after the aforementioned successful booting.

Therefore I am hoping to find a way to underclock my GPU even further, as MSI afterburner only seems to kick in after entering windows and can only achieve a max underclock of -500mhz. I heard that Premamod which you are working on have the ability to do so directly through the unlocked bios, however your website permamod.com appears to be down, hence this requesting for help.

    Thanks!

    Sincerely

@Prema I was wondering if you ever completed your project for the old HM series?

I recently got a P180HM handed down and one one of the GTX560 cards is dead so I was looking into getting a GTX970M, until I found out what a headache it is to get it done.

    Best regards

You'll need to contact and purchase a laptop from an @Prema partner shop. Here's a list of Prema Partner shops.
    • EVOC or HID-USA
    • LPC Digital-USA
    • Xotic PC-USA (ask because you need to make sure you purchase the correct one)
    • Clevo Center-Spain (I think)
    • DM Dream Machines-Poland
    • Avell-Brazil
    • Azom-India
    • MetaBox-Australia
There used to be more partner shops but they didn't work out. I owned a P870TMx, got it from (company will remain unnamed) it had a so called unlocked Bios, it was absolute junk. I got rid of it and got an 870TMx with the Prema bios. HUGE difference, trust me, not all firmware is the same, I'm using the same CPU and the scores are not even close. If you're getting a DTR and want to have control get the Prema Bios.

The Custom Prema BIOS is not available for your Sager P670RS-G. Sager is not a @Prema partner system builder.

There are similar models of the P670RS from other partners, the main manufacturer of Clevo and hardware similar to the partners, am I wrong? Is it possible to install Prema mod for Xotic PC-USA base model Clevo P670RS-G? I apologize for the bad english. I will very much wait for an answer. Thank you.

I think you misunderstand. Prema based BIOS are not available in the public space, but are only installed by Prema Partners. Normally, unless Prema intervenes and sends you the files, there's no place to even download the BIOS. The agreement is that the partners will remotely flash the BIOS, so the BIOS files are not in the public domain.

Hopefully, you can follow what happened here - http://forum.notebookreview.com/threads/prema-bios-questions.795536/#post-10330926, and that you understand you can only get a Clevo based laptop with a Prema BIOS from a reseller which is also a Prema based partner.

    Hi everyone,
I know the post sounds quite ridiculous (and indeed it is), why would I want to get back on the stock BIOS if I'm running Prema?! Well, the thing is I'm going to sell my P670SE soon and the buyer wants it as "original" as possibile, so he asked me to do so (if possible). Years ago I flashed both the BIOS and vBIOS to 1.03.09/10PM v2 (the Intel ME got updated as well in the process). I've been looking through the forum and indeed here http://forum.notebookreview.com/threads/clevo-bios-older-models-released-in-after-2014.790474/ seems to be what I'm looking for. I would flash 1.05.01EC/BIOS and the stock GTX970M vBIOS from the other package below (inside 1.03.06 EC/1.03.09 BIOS). Is that going to work? Will the ME be flashed as well?

    Thanks for your help.

@Prema, if you're reading this, thank you so much for your work, it has been amazing for me.

@Prema is it possible to get a Prema BIOS for a Clevo P775DM1-G please?
I bought in the UK and unfortunately there is no Prema partners here, otherwise I would have definitely opted for a Prema partner.
I keep getting BSODs ever since I updated the BIOS with an official version (I had to do it so sort out another issue).
I would be happy to donate.
    I can't PM as I haven't enough posts :(

PM is disabled due to way to many people spamming him for mods etc.

Bluescreens usually do not happen on stock BIOS. Could you make a screenshot of the bluescreen if it hhappens? or at least remember the bluescreen error?

I will try next time it happens. Usually get it at least once a day.
I do know it says "IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL" among other things.
I say stock BIOS, but this is not strictly true.
My laptop originally came with PC Specialist BIOS.
I wanted to get video output through USB-C Thunderbolt port working so I updated the BIOS with a stock Clevo Bios for this model and I also updated the Thunderbolt firmware to v16.
The video output started to work fine but I started getting almost daily BSODs since then. The laptop is in use at least 10 hours a day.
In any case, I wanted to get an extra video output from the laptop but it turns out the laptop can use either the 3 rear ports (2x DP + 1x HDMI) or 2 rear ports and the TB port but not all simultaneously so the whole BIOS update exercise was pointless :(

Not in this case. NVIDIA BSOD are always nv related. Pretty sure it's just some BS M$ update messing with some drivers.

Lately m$ decided to screw with both my notebooks, by installing a new synaptics driver, it was so amazing it bluescreened both my notebooks with the syn.sys file. had to download old drivers and reinstall them so my notebooks would stop bluescreening all the time.

I always got nvdmm errors for IRQ BSODs. I stopped updating windows. Now every driver update must be done through WU because most OEMs have gone for UWP or UWD frameworks.
