Removing Intel AHCI drivers and RTS + disabling LPM seems to have stopped the freezes. Going on 8th hour.
I think it's LPM. I'll probably reinstall Intel drivers just to see if they aren't to blame. -

I thought I had the problem solved but it's freezed 5 times in a row in 10 minutes this morning and I don't know why. It was working fine yesterday. I did install an HDD into the optical bay but it was working fine yesterday.
I've just added the LPM disabling registry keys and will do some testings. -
^ Keep us posted - I haven't noticed any hiccups with mine yet.
-
Are the only remaining people with this problem SSD users, or are people with the stock 7200 rpm drivers still experiencing freezes?
-
I've got the stock hdd and have yet to have a freeze in months.

I had no freezes with the original mechanical HDD.
Then I put in an SSD and infrequentely got freezes.
Then I put the original HDD into the optical bay alongside the SSD in the main drive bay and I got freezes so badly that I had to hard-power off the computer every 10 minutes. -
I have an Intel 510 and the xt that came with it both running and have never had any freezes yet. Before I bought a caddy for the ODD bay, I was running the ssd and never had freezes then either, and I use this all day long for work.

Thanks for the info everyone!

Okay, all I did was disable LPM via registry and I now have had no freezes for 2 days. It seems that the problem is solved.
No need to do anything with Intel ACHI or Rapid Storage drivers. -
I guess everyone has either resolved or moved on from this problem, but just in case anyone still cares, I've gotten my 8130 back from the Sager recall for 2 weeks now and am happy to report that it has absolutely no freezing problems anymore.
-
^ They probably just disabled LPM using this thread as a guide and sent it back to you...

He doesn't even have an SSD lol. (LPM is the fix for SSDs causing these laptops to freeze) -

So I've tried to read through all of these and got to post #172 and decided to just skip to the end and ask:
Is this a problem with the Clevo P151-HM1 or is it strictly belonging to Sager NP8130? (I know they are the same machine but everyone is calling theirs the 8130. I am buying mine from Malibal and want to know if they have been effected).
Also, was the problem every completely solved? (again, there are a lot of posts so forgive me for not reading them all). -

Judging by the fact that this thread has pretty much died off, it seems the updated Intel RST drivers, recall process for Sandy Bridge, and disabling LPM fixed the problems for 99% of users. As you've bought your machine from us, if anything does come up- obviously feel free to contact us. -
In my case , for freezing issue helped changing memory modules from A-Data to Corsair. Previously i tried with drivers, updated, RST, so on and so on, it wasn't related with software problem. Now my Clevo is stable like a rock !

Ok thanks! And I actually haven't bought it yet. Give me one to three weeks and I will though! (And waiting that much longer is KILLING me!!!!!)
-
It was LPM for me. I don't even know what it is. I just turned it off.
-
Sorry I missed it, but what is LPM and how do I disable it?
-
Thanks +1. So sounds like this is a Crucial issue then? Or just Crucial came up with this solution that happens to work with others having the problem?
I have an Intel SSD so hopefully it won't be a problem, otherwise hope this fixes everyone's problems. -
^ Not only Crucial. Some other brands have the same issue.

i had my machine freeze during bc2, but my card was overclocked, and it started making a wierd buzzing noise, been fine since then though
