I did some scaling with pictures from other laptops with 15.4", it seems a bit small, but my eyesight is pretty good so that'll be fine.
If only if they offered WXGA+, that'll be a perfect balance.

yup
BLAH BLAH -
Guys!
When I ordered mine, it said the display is the 'glare type'
does this mean Im getting a glossy screen?? -
What resolution? The WXGA models are all glossy, the WSXGA+ are matte, for now
I was also told that the WXGA+ would be all glossies, but those things tend to change -
Mine is the WSXGA+ one.
So if what you said was true,
then what exactly does the 'glare type' mean?? -
the glare type is the glossy screen, not the matte. Last anyone heard though was due to a shortage the WSXGA+ would initially be only matte, and if you wanted the glossy screen it would push you back 2-3 weeks more than everyone else. I would contact whoever you ordered from to be certain.
Edit- Sager only lists the matte as an option for WSXGA+, Xoticpc doesnt say which it is, and powernotebooks doesnt say either. -
Alright
Thank you very much!!
Edit::: Hopefully Justin passes by and answers my question tomorrow lol -
god that thing is beautiful!!! i can't wait till thursday, standard shipping blows. can you please post more pictures of just about anything?
-
Hmm, I've got to wonder how well known the Sager NP2090 really is in the mainstream market. Something tells me that big companies like Dell, Sony, Alienware (Dell), and Apple don't want consumers to know that they can get a laptop equivalent to their upper-tier $2000+ laptops for nearly half the price.
-
Well, I can tell you I had no idea about compal, sager, clevo, asus, acer, and others and such till I actually visited NBR.
-
damnit im jealous. hopefully i get mines soon too..
-
-
great pics! I do believe you are the first NBR member to receive their IFL90! (or at least the first to bother posting about it) lol.
how is the keyboard? also palm rest heat during gaming. -

losthighwayblues, thanks for posting this up
ak0120 you can email me if you have questions about a order you have with us. -
losthighwayblues, can you give us some temps using this guide?
http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=81852
It would be nice to know idle temps and stressed temps.
I'm guessing the noise level isn't bad, right? -
losthighwayblues Notebook Enthusiast
i hardly notice any noise. will get temps when i get more time. but i have experienced my first problem, when playing games the screen leaves one row of pixels at the top and left which retains some kind of static image (like a loading screen) almost like the game is adjusted one pixel to low and to the right. think this i a problem with my screen or the games? can the screen be adjusted to fix it? from what ive noticed, if it bring it to windowed screen to full screen the problem fixes itself.
-
Hmm, does this happen with all your games or just one or two of them? Sounds like a resolution setting problem to me.
-
losthighwayblues Notebook Enthusiast
ill try out some more
-
losthighwayblues Notebook Enthusiast
it happens on all of my games at one point or another. mostly on cutscenes. is there any way to adjust the screen one pixel to the left and up?
-
Hmmm, what drivers are you using for the card? Are you on 64 or 32 bit vista? Are there any other nvidia drivers you could try? This is discouraging, makes me questiohn the quality of the 8600m GT card/drivers.
-
losthighwayblues Notebook Enthusiast
64 bit version of vista. i am unaware of any other drivers i could use and i am using the drivers that came with my computer.
-
Is this the version that came with the computer: http://www.nvidia.com/object/winvista_x64_158.24.html ?
-
What version of Vista? Home Prem, Business, etc?
Did you install Vista your self or did you purchase the notebook with the OS? -
According to an earlier post he ordered "Operating System: ~Windows Vista Home Premium 64-Bit + 32-bit" pre-installed
-
why would you get 64 bit installed when you have no 4 gb ram?
-
So you can get both the 64bit and 32 bit CDs from Xoticpc? Not to mention that 64 bit is more secure.
-
The Sager version (through Sager, powernotebooks, xotic) comes with both. The elite series from xotic and powerpro from powernotebooks only comes with one or another though. Apparantly sending both was an exclusive deal that Sager has worked out. You can get the Sager version through xotic and powernotebooks with that option of course.
-
Well this is my first post here. I don't normally do forums but I figured I should considering this forum was basically responsible for my decision to buy what and where I did (XoticPC). I've been watching all this with baited breath and I really appreciate all the info you're providing LOST. I;ve gotta wait til the next shipment but this is tiding me over.
-
very well its seems to be software as there are not enough video card drivers that fully support the 64bit version as the majority of vista users use the 32bit version i would encourage him to use the 32bit version with the 32bit dirvers and see the outcome!!!
-
if you switch to 32bit and 32 bit drivers how easy will it be to make the switch to 64bit when necessary? would it make that much a difference to leave the 64bit installed or is it very highly recommended to switch it to 32bit? Im not too keen on the 64/32 bit thing so since my 2090 is on the way id like to figure this out
-
Does the Sager 2090 have a magnetic latch when it closes? Oh, and can you please show us some pics of Oblivion in action? This is one game I want to play with high resolutions and mostly all other details on high. And if it's not too hard to ask, maybe some Rainbow 6 Vegas? How does Oblivion look? Does it look better than the Xbox 360 version?
-
Donald@Paladin44 Retired
You can do this with XP and Vista. We just haven't tested it yet with Vista 32bit and 64bit. If we can get some time to test it we will and report back here. -
what the chances of the prices of the sager 2090 decreasing first of second week of august?

i chose the 64bit version to get the 32 and 64bit versions of windows. i was trying to post pics of in game graphics but i cant figure out how (so noobish). is it i press "print screen" then do what? as for closing the screen, im not sure if its a magnet, but it doesnt have a latch like my dell 5150 while whatever is keeping it shut keeps it shut well.
-
press print screen, open up ms paint, click paste then save. DONE

1. WSXGA+ is matte for the IFL90's from xotic and powernotebooks.
2. 64bit Vista only accepts signed drivers I think.
3. I had the same pixel issue when I switched from a CRT to an LCD monitor in warcraft 3. It was only during the menu though - the right frame would not go all the way to the top and you see the background dynamic image... -
Donald@Paladin44 Retired
So it is "possible" but not very likely. -
lol you seem to be very strung up on the 'possibles' and 'probables' lately. Your last two posts anyways.

jaggies, try turning on AA and vsync
-
Hmm. I was getting ready to order my 2090 tomorrow, but I'm not liking the sound of this messed up pixel thing on games..... Oh Also! How is the weight and thickness of the laptop? That would be some really helpful info.
-
Must.Need.Pics.Of.Oblivion! That is, when you can get them. Also, what are the in-game settings of LOTRO? The pics look kinda low res, or the details aren't too high...I thought this thing was for gaming!?

-
thanks for the response...what are the chances of prices increasing?
-
Donald@Paladin44 Retired
Prices probably won't increase unless we see memory prices go up. Sometimes memory pricing is like gas pricing...it goes up during the Summer. But unless it goes way up we generally absorb minor increases in memory cost increases.

can someone tell me how to take screenshots in Oblivion? ive changed the .ini file to allow screenshots but using the printscreen button still give no results.
-
I have no idea then, hold up let me google it stay online. Download FRAPS http://www.fraps.com/ and try taking it with that
