Just want to throw in that I'm also interested in those oblivion pictures. I've been waiting to play this for ages and this comp is finally going to enable that. My current rig can't even run Bloodmoon for Morrowind very well... sigh.

That can easily be found by viewing the specs on any of the resellers websites, but I believe its 1.5 inches and 6.8 pounds. Best to check for sure!

Well that's interesting. My desktop is a P4 1.6GHz, 768MB RAM, and Geforce FX5200. I can run Morrowind/Tribunal/Bloodmoon at 1024x768 with medium settings and get 30-40fps.

Yeah, I was just being resistant to turning down the settings in Bloodmoon after I was able to run Morrowind and Tribunal at High everything. My bad. here's hoping this computer will hold up even better. I'm holding my breath til your next post lost.

i have fraps, i took some screens of oblivion, upping to imageshack but the have to be under 1.5mb pics. Im running Oblivion using the high settings option only changing the resolution to widescreen 1200x800 and getting 20-40 FPS outside averaging 25-30 inside i get 30-45 FPS averaging 35. tried to max it out with ultra settings and 8xAA getting 10-15 FPS outside

*blink blink* So... Is that good or bad? That screenshot looks awesome to me, but it could also be because the newest game I have ever played was 5 years old and on low settings!

I like what I see, the game does look gorgeous. Overall lost, how happy are you with the performance? Does anyone think that we might see some boosts with better drivers later on?

    http://www.bayimg.com

Allows 100mb uploads, never needs you to have a user name, it is supper fast, and they supposedly never delete images.

Don't use imageshack, its slow and has so many restrictions.

TW medieval 2 using FRAPS all settings on high (default) 4xAA, 4xAF 1280x800 resolution. 15-25 FPS which is very playable and enjoyable. this is in custom battle mode.

i am very happy overall, it looks nice, has a good feel, the blue lights on the notebook are cool. the 8600mGT overall has blown me away. the other computer i was looking to buy was a Sony FZ but when seeing each in person not only does the Sager 2090 preform better, it was better looks IMO and believe it or not it was about $400 cheaper than the FZ i was going to purchase (and this would have arrived before the FZ according to the shipping date sony would have given me)!

losthighwayblues, we would like to see the full resolution images, please don't use imageshack.

    http://www.bayimg.com is far better.

Allows 100mb uploads, never needs you to have a user name, it is supper fast, and they supposedly never delete images.

Don't use imageshack, its slow and has so many restrictions (plus we cant see the highest resolution screenshots, it resizes them.)

That's a red flag in my book; I'd never use 3DMark scores to make or break a buying decision. 3DMark is synthetic - not real. Using 3DMark, any version, to judge video cards isn't a good way.

As long as both notebooks you are looking at have comparable or the same graphics cards then turn to other aspects to make your decision - build quality, looks, features (ports, etc), and customer service.

Even if you were to look at the marks (which you shouldn't) either one would only beat the other by a couple dozen at the most. So to make a decision based on a few points, is something you are going to regret.

If I can ever find the right notebook cooler, I'm pretty sure I will just to have some fun with benchmarks and the a couple years from now try to overclock as high as I can to squeez every little bit of perfomance juice out of that card that I can

i mainly want to see what the difference in score is between this card: 8600gt 512mb on board gddr2 vs. the other laptops 8600 gt with only 256mb but with gddr3

because the rest of the specs are the same, i just wanted to see what the difference is between the cards

Back to the overclocking thing. I've heard so much about heat on gaming laptops (This will be my first) that, to be quite honest, the concept scares me. I'll let you pros test the waters first. I'm not opposed to the idea once people get a good idea of whats possible though.

Could you paste some more pics of Oblivion, please? These could be landscape shots deep in the forrests or an overhead shot of the Imperial City. And maybe some shots up close with citizens...?
