Yeah, GlueEater's Sager's sorta been in a round-the-world-in-80-days sort of voyage.![]()

lol. hey when it comes and it works then we all know how sturdy these things are... sort of.
btw i got medieval 2, i'll tell you all how it goes tomorrow -
I'm really looking forward toe M2TW, just bought it and I'm waiting.
-
What is the newest game that plays like M2TW gonna be?
-
i got 10 fps at max settings. i really don't like this game. the multiplayer is a joke, i like building armies not jsut fighting with them. all the units are cool tho, but i just don't like it. i prefer sup com, its my favorite game right now.
-
Lost highway got 15-25 with these settings in his thread, I think that was the demo.
-
8x aa 16x af were my settings. so that's probably why
-
lol that's a lot of AA and AF
-
Dam I gotta try that game out
-
For those who have it... how's the wifi connection?
-
it is really good.
-
What kinda router do you have? Do you feel any lag?
-
and did you actually try draft-n or just g?
-
just g, i can't afford to upgrade my network right now and since i'm going to college in a few its really not worth it. i have a belkin router and usually i have a poor signal when i go in my basement, but with this laptop i have a good signal

Is that the belkin router? -
yes i believe that would be it
-
i got CnC 3. I'll let you guys know how it goes
-
Yeah I'd like to hear what you think and how it runs. I'm debating that or Supreme Commander for an RTS when mine shows up...
-
hey i got 15-19 fps with max settings and level 4 antialiasing. Try to download a demo and choose that way, the games play completely different
-
Did you already try Counter Strike Source? If you have it that is.
-
i dont' have that game. i believe someone on the compal forums has benchmarked it tho. i can't find the thread... i'm sure i saw the results somewehre tho
-
Thanks for the review! Pretty good, I'm thinking of buying it in a few weeks. Thanks very much
-
Have you gotten used to the strange key placement of ctrl and fn yet? I use ctrl quite a bit, and it would be a ridiculous pain if the fn key is so easy to press instead of ctrl.
-
What resolutions are you all playing at??
BTW, would ordering a TV tuner on the Sager be a good or a bad idea? (besides the fact that it is backordered). I'm just not sure what effect a TVtuner will have on the rest of the computer. Never had a comp with a TV tuner before. -
TV Tuner isn't just backordered, it has no ETA, period. No one has any idea when you'll get it. I wouldn't recommend ordering it.
-
-
AFAIK nobody has found a way to remap the Fn key correctly, due to its being recognized differently than a normal key. There have been lots of threads about it if you want more info, try a search on these forums.

I hear ya, sounded too simple.
-
On a different note, the ASUS G1s is very similar to the Sager 2090 spec-wise and quality-wise. How would you all say it compares? I've read what others have to say but am curious to hear some Sager fans' takes on it

has anyone ran the 3DMark06 test on the 2090 yet?
-
Mine came back at 2992 in 06, I was going to install that Vista performance pack and try it again this weekend. That score was with the unregistered version of 3dmark, so its the default resolution. No overclocking either, everything default.
My specs:
T7300 cpu
WSXGA+ screen
7200 160gig HDD
3gig ram
Vista Home Premium -
im starting to wonder if having the WSXGA+ screen is causing yall to have problems with performace, ill give yall my scores with WXGA when it comes in..and with 3 gigs you dont optomize dual channel correct?
-
No dual channel with 3gig, but the gain in that 3rd gig is much larger than the gain the dual channel at 2gig would have given anyway.
I dont have any performance issues, outside of Vista frustrations (had to restart for mouse software, wtf?) everything is fine. Vista to me seems like a dressed up XP, I can totally understand the references to Win ME -
I have a question about buying gigs for the Sager. I have never done it before. How do I know if the gig I buy will fit into the Sager? Are there different sticks that only fit into different "types" of nb's? How do I know what will work for a Sager 2090?
-
-
Yes Sir Sorry!

We all love the 2090 -
Notebook ram is referred to as SODIMM and the 2090 is using DDR2. 533MHz or 667MHz and you can mix them but will only run to the slowest so if mixed will run at 533.
Just go to Newegg's SODIMM section. There is a good "hot ram deals" by Gophn thread here too. -
OK. I'm going to buy it. Won't I blame myself?
my other options are Inspiron 1520, Vostro 1500, Asus G1S-A1 -
