Alan Wake looks cool - need a quad core though - dual core won't cut it according to the demo given by the developers. ref: youtube, alan wake.

I disappeared for a while and have since upgraded to SLI for my 9262.

Is it worth it to complete this review with added information about SLI vs Single GPU?

I lack Penryn as well as 9800M GTX to make this a completely recent review.

Although, I'd do it if it may still be educational.

Quick question- XoticPC's site always says "sli enabled" whenever they offer the SLi option.

I just wanted to know if I'm buying the 9262 with one 9800m GTX, are they leaving something out of it that makes it NOT user upgradable to SLi in the future? Or can I still stick another gtx in there in the future on my own by just buying another GTX?

Their wording just makes me nervous. It's sort of superfluous to say SLi Enabled when they've already written GTX x2 or whatever.

    Thanks in advance.

You will need an sli upgrade kit including:
    one 9800M GTX
    one heatsink/fan assembly
    one sli cable
one copy of the sli enabled vbios to flash to your 1st card

    Thanks man.

BTW, Aryantes, would you mind posting a bit about how you upgraded to SLi? I can't even find places online to buy the components. Where did you get them from?

You should be able to get an sli kit from any reseller that stocks the d901c (np9262)

Ah ok. Thanks guys, appreciate it. Curious though as to why they don't just sell them along with other accessories.

    Thanks again.

They are very system specific (only d901c) so very few people want them therefore they have to order them in specially I would guess

Yes, you can buy your upgrade kit from any reseller. At the time I purchased mine it was $695. Should be cheaper now ( unless you are looking at 9800M GTX upgrade of course ).

Justin@Xotic posted a very nice set of pictures and upgrade instructions somewhere on this board around march...

A few screws, a cable, and being a bit careful is all it takes. Pretty easy and quick. I was done flashing bios and getting better frame rates in less than 30 minutes from start to finish.

Awesome. Thanks guys. The reason I was asking all this- thought about getting a 9800m gtx for now, and upgrading to SLi later when it became cheaper. However, after reading some of the other threads, it looks like having an SLi 9800m GTX is hardly worth $600.00 more for only a small performance upgrade over a 8800m GT SLi.

Also, correct me if I'm wrong, but the 9800m GT SLi performs better than a single 9800m GTX.

    You're correct.

Roughly speaking, the 9800GTX seems to be about 10% faster than a single 9800GT in Crysis at 1920x1200 High settings, but a dual 9800GT will be 60-70% faster than a single 9800GT under the same circumstances.
