I think support for setFSB is done and over. Did Killer Notebooks ever find a way to OC their systems?

So, I take the FSB clock up to 333. This overclocks my whole machine (just realised, an M570TU) CPU, GPU, RAM. After which I can go around downclocking all of these so the laptop won't melt - I'll need Memset to downclock the Ram...
Ntune for the GPU? Something for the CPU?
If the M570TU has an effective heatsink, I may be able to leave the CPU overclocked...

You know, I actually have a little syringe that has some unknown agent in it that I've assumed is either glue or a cooling substance. Maybe I can apply that???
    Is this right?

Does an overclocked FSB generate too much heat on its own merit or is it the corresponding effect of the increased clock on the rest of the hardware that might cause overheating.

You can monitor and compare the GPU clocks side-by-side using GPU-Z.

The overclocked FSB does not generate the heat, but it is mainly due to the increased frequency of the CPU. Higher frequency to the RAM won't generate much heat, but will slowly kill the memory chips, if the OCed frequency is way over their listed max frequency.

I just finished SetFSBTray. It is a self installer, so install is a breeze. Uninstall old versions of this and N10Tray first (if you have it). Delete C:\setfsb if you used n10Tray.

Once installed, open the settings window, click on settings on the menu bar, and then choose "Enable Overclock". Set your system's clock generator and your stock FSB. Once you set your settings press save. You should not have to do these steps again, even after reinstall. If you need help, check out the how to under help in the settings window.

    Cheers!

    What can it do?
-Overclock you computer by increasing the FSB.

-3 customizable FSB settings in tray icon: low, medium, high.

-Support for all clock generators in SetFSB.exe

    -logoff/shutdown/hibernate/restart from tray icon
*You can toggle whether shutdown and restart reset the FSB when you click them. If a GP entry is detected, then the the toggle is disabled.

-You can disable and hide the overclocking buttons and just use this for the shutdown buttons.

-Add a script to the GP. This will automatically run SetFSB on shutdown and reset the clock (Use if your system hangs while overclocked).
*During uninstall these entries will be removed for you, or it can be removed with the program.

    -Toggle run on startup

-Custom Overclock.xml generator. It asks what you would like your FSB, and then opens task scheduler for you to import the file.
    *Requires manual removal.

-Extra Low(lan) button for asus n10 users. You can toggle this on/off in settings

    Download~

I have a VAIO VGN-FZ4000 and I'm trying to OC (I'm used to on non-locked bios desktop pcs), but the bios won't let me. I've been reading a lot on how to OC via software.

The thing is, I don't know my Clock Generator Name and setFSB seems not to support it (because on the website there are many vaios but no FZ). So, can setfsb still work for me? what do I need to OC my T8300 without knowing my Clock Generator Name?

I don't even know the motherboard vendor or anything, CPU-Z just reads it as "Sony VAIO", that's all.

Please, any help will be greatly appreciated. I really want to go to 2.6 or even 2.8 with my T8300 (2.4 stock) because of really intensive CPU soft.

    Thanks!!

    Hey!

    I have Samsung R70 with T7500.
I want to overclock my cpu. I found my PLL, but when I take for example FSB 210MHz or 215MHz my notebook was get slowly. I have 2x2GB 667MHz 5-5-5-15. I think the reason is my memory, becouse at 210MHz FSB, my memory has 350MHz/700MHz. I Was wrong or not? Please help. I want to overclock my CPU at 2,4GHz...

No, this is not the memory problem.

Can I have a lock of overclocking my cpu? I don't believe that this cpu can't overclock of approx 100MHz ;/

    Welcome to NBR :)

SetFSB does`nt work very well with Montevina processors. But you can get a 200mhz OC with that PLL, but it`s kinda buggy. I never use it.

Rembember that SetFSB OC the whole comp, GPU too.

Incorrect, you can overclock the FSB without overclocking PCI-E. However, overclocking the FSB also overclocks the RAM, which I believe is the main cause of instability.

besides, on most notebooks, the FSB :pCI-E is locked, so OCing the FSB does OC the gfx card

Well I just now found the SetFSB v3.0 thread. Glancing at the thread, it should allow me to set the frequency at whatever my system will be stable at, which is what I am looking for.

I guess I'm just too new here to have known about the new version, unless there is a version 4.

Anyway, for others that may stumble along like me, with little guidance, here is the link to v3.0.
