It can be done on any pc/laptop which has a clock generator supported by setfsb. If you know/can find out the pll id of your clockgen, then you can use it

Did anyone get higher than 200mhz with Setfsb overclock on MT860U,'cause with mine 2,8Ghz processor a could reach 3Ghz(and my i-net connection dissapears :( )! is that a limit? Can it increase my fps in games more if I could go higher? i'm not sure of using BIOS flash of my video card, it's too risky for a Newbie)

Did the development of this program stop? :(

    Any idea how can I OC a P8400 in a M570TU? (PM45 chipset)

The developer has said he won't develop for the PM45 chipset. There is a post about it a few pages back. He says it can't overclock, but we all know it will.

And why is that? What's the point on the development of a platform based on dated CPUs? What I want is to be able to push further newer chips not older ones!

On another note? Has anyone ever ventured to open up a 9262 and find the PLL? I find it curious it has seemed so "impossible" to overclock a laptop that has been on the market fairly unchanged for over 2 yeas as far as motherboard architecture goes. Is there a Service Manual available? Heck, I have two 9262s and am willing to rip one open to find out the "sacred" mystery of its clock generator for the sake of all of us... this cannot be so hard...

ICS9LPR363 is the proper clock generator for the M860TU according to the service manual...This doesn't seem to exist in SetFSB.

Are we going to get support for this clock generator?

The maker of setFSB says it cannot overclock and will not support it. I call bull on that since we all know the PM45 chipset can be overclocked using that RTM-660 PLL.

I'm all for trying to get an overclock in the 9262. But people have tried in the past and cant get it to work. :( sucks for us. I believe it was Audigy that tried it. If you really want to go after it the PLL is ICS9LPR363ELGF

Ok. I have an XPS M1530 with an X9000 CPU.
I downloaded and installed the SetFSB program 2.1.69.0
When I choose the ICS9LPR363DGLF as the clock generator just like instructed, and press the “Get FSB” button, I get an error saying “PLL Byte Error”.
Also I couldn’t find the SetFSB Auto Tool for my X9000 CPU file in the list.

Please help overclock this X9000 beast.

    Thanks.

Well, let me put it this way I have a Dell XPS M1530 laptop with X9000 CPU and I want to overclock it to 3.2 - 3.4 GHz.

I don't know anything about overclocking and need somebody to show me how.

    That's all.

Hi all I am new in notebook world :D.I have a couple of question.

I have try SetFSB with tha clockgenerator ICS9LPR363DGLF and this work good for my G50V-A2.But all core with Prime 95 are at 65 or 66 degree it normale at 2850MHz ?.

I would like to know what software I can find for edit the bios and if possible edit the Turbo Extreme mode for 3GHz and the Turbo for 2.8GHz.I see with CPUZ the voltage is at 1.338 and would drop it.

Sorry for my bad english thx for help in advance.

Edit: that is not good for the T9400 ?

This will take forever. Not only that but some of the PLL’s lock the system and I have to restart the computer over and over.

Is there another way to find out the PLL of my XPS M1530 laptop?

In CCPUID > Functions > Speedstep control > You can edit the multiplier and voltage here.

NHC (Notebook H/W Control) won't work in Vista 64.

^^^ Just read a little but if this thread... ITs not your cpu that matters, its your chipset.

Andy, I've messed around a bit with CCPUID and twenty hard locks later, I'm to the conclusion it does not work with the PM45 and X9100. Using the multipliers. Setting any of the multipliers causes the system to lock.

SetFSB also will not overclock a PM45 with the X9100 in it. Locks up the second the fsb changes. I once say an Intel program that overclocked Extreme Edition CPUs, but can't find it again. Think it was called the intel extreme tuning utility.

Again, its not the proccy that matters. Its your chipset. If you have downloaded setFSB and gone through every single PLL, and it still doesn't work, then there is no support for your chipset. If you are running PM45, the setFSB designer has specified that there will be no support.

Is there any way to overclock the fsb but leave the ram untampered with, because I'm stuck with an a-synchronous
    PM45 (1066Mhz fsb) and 1333Mhz Ram.
I don't know, some people say they have used a random pll and gotten to overclock their M870TUs, but is there any way to leave the ram 'out of the running?
Or would I be better off just downclocking the ram? <------ how do I do this?

FSB overclocks, so does the RAM.
The DRAM:FSB ratio is basically a memory multiplier.
Your FSB goes up to 333MHz, the memory I/O Clock will also be OCed to 666MHz.
The DDR3-1333 should be fine with a FSB overclock of upto 333MHz. See if you are able to play around with the memory timings in Memset.
