No luck with p750dmg also I broke some clips in my keyboard when I try to find my bad speakers. I tried on gpu, my heatsink is different, I cant use stick for cpu. Can I use p775dm3 heatsink in mine?

But also have to add another layer of thermal pads to vrms tho!Mr. Fox likes this. -

Indeed so a shim is only used when the gap would make a thick layer of paste which is worse at conducting than metal by more than having extra thermal interfaces.

Wow! Amazing copper IHS. Do you see any improvement over the stock one?

The stock IHS is nickel plated copper by the way.

Posting here because I'd like to know if it's possible to simply unscrew the heatsink while leaving it in place and sliding the paperclip or do I have to remove it completly?
Thanks! -

Well I tried this mod and for me it didn't do anything unfortunately, GPU 75c load Before, 75c load after. I guess it was as good as it gets already.
But I couldn't do it as well either, the heatpipes are welded/soldered whatever so far to one side that it's not really very possible to lay the paper clips from one side to the other, did it more like a C shapre in each side. Maybe that didn't give as much support. Under one of the spring arms it wasn't even possible to put any paperclip
Tried to put some small wooden sticks under the CPU arms that did nothing either. Well actually it's hotter than after the first time I delided the CPU, but I don't think that's because of this. The CPU has just gotten a bit hotter over the past year for some reason. Well a couple of more years and this laptop will be completely outdated anyway. 6700K :/ kinda outdated already.Last edited: May 27, 2018 -

very clever though,thanks. -

Has anyone tried this with the P775TM and gtx 1080? Did it help to lower the gpu temp from 85-88C?
-
-
It worked on my P775TM1 G with my 1080 lowered my temps by 14C! after an overclock and undervolt and this simple mod.

I tried on P750DM-G results was not magnificent but I tried LM on GPU and for delid I did not get -20 C like everyone got but now GPU cooler like 5 C and it is enough for me because my GPU was hitting 75 C, 78 is black screen now its 69~70 C and its lowest I ever got. I could not best pressure with paper clips because my hand works sucks but I could better than last time one year ago. I must try washer too and when I screwing I pressured with my hand it is very important too like sager guy said. Thank you Sager guy and thank you OP for simple awesome mod.

Usually adding LM and getting higher temps means the contact is not flat and close enough.

I removed the back cover too and temperatures now max 70 C with +125/200 12mV GPU and max 83 C CPU. I got the 1mm arctic pad yesterday but I searched it must be at least 1.5 mm for VRAM maybe I try with 4 paper clips mod like on 1070 sli mod with it when it get hot weirdly one day. Kryonaut is good but just for three days. LM is savior.
I used paste on pads and teared when I relocate them and kryonaut dried again.
Is it okay P370S code for p750dm-g? It could not stand alive on 78 C and up since day one.Last edited: Feb 19, 2019 -
Do the P750TM1-G laptops have limited heat sink pressure too? Would this mod work for me?

That depends on the paste spread pattern. Post up a pic if you are unsure what it's telling you.

Simple and very effective cooling "mod" for p775dm2/p775dm3
