After installing 12.11 beta 3 and latest intel driver, 3dmark 11 will not start up. I keep getting a "3dmark GUI has stopped responding" immediately after trying to open the program. I tried uninstalling/reinstalling, installed with 32 bit binaries, which didn't fix anything. After a little research, I read that it could have something to do with .net framework. I ran windows updated, and sure enough there 3 .net framework updates available. The 12.11 beta 3 drivers must have done something because I checked windows update before installing the new drivers and I had no updates. When I installed the new drivers, I uninstalled amd, unistalled intel, rebooted to safe mode, ran driver fusion and removed amd and intel, rebooted normally and installed new amd and intel drivers. I've tried out bf3 and a few other games, everything seems to be runnning fine/better than before, just no luck with 3dmark 11? Any ideas? Maybe reinstall new drivers?

I did not. I do not believe the card is inherently capable of running ultra at a smooth enough FPS for me, so I don't bother. I will check it out tomorrow though.

I can attest to SR3 getting better framerates. I have a 5-30FPS increase everywhere. I still think it has utilization issues though as it did dip into the teens a couple of times. I really wish our monitoring tools worked with these new drivers.

I got new drivers installed both intel/new catalyst. On first reboot it crashed with BSOD. Now it works fine with Afterburner semi working(after redoing ENABLEULP=0 in registry). Afterburner no longer able to detect anything but framerate. I can still overclock. I see no difference in the game i play, but i also could not tell if the ultilization went up on it. Still getting 45fps in town on Vindictus

Looks like the order does matters. I installed intel driver then amd and now I have no more BSOD. Sleeping Dogs runs much smoother now.

Good to know. Did you use my method with the order switched or DocOccam's method?

    Also, boom:
    7970m3dmark11.jpg

All stock clocks for CPU and GPU. We essentially have an HD 7870 in our laptops, minus about 200 points. This score is supposed to be better than the 680m, which should be scoring around 6300 points at stock clocks.

I didn't use driver fusion this time. Just uninstalled amd drivers. Something weird happened tho. When I use uninstall all within amd driver, my whole screen went away and only with a flashing underscore on my upper left corner like it was in dos mode. Then it BSOD me with intel error instead of amd error I usually get. I powered down my system and rebooted it back up and found amd driver became VGA in device manager but intel was still there. I uninstalled the intel and proceed with reboot. When my laptop reboot back up, it automatically installed the intel driver again. So, I was like what the heck, I'm just gonna install the downloaded intel driver over it. So, I did that and then rebooted my laptop. Installed AMD driver after and now it seems stable without BSOD after rebooted a few times. Looks like everyone has different luck with BSOD.

Speak too soon. Just reboot and after got the BSOD with AMD error. Power down completely and power back up and now I don't have BSOD. It seems random.

Um, are these extra special or the same as what we got earlier today?

But yes, rejoice. I am VERY surprised by 12.11. I was seeing performance all over the place on Ultra in BF3 single player with the stock drivers. Now I can play on Ultra with perfect FPS.

While I don't really play Saints Row 3 much, the performance gain is enough to make the game actually playable on Ultra. There used to be horrible lag in the frame rate at all settings. Saints Row 3 is surprisingly smooth now. Lower the settings, and you do get higher FPS as you would expect.

I had to play for a while until I got everything working. However, now the 7970 fan is running constantly even with one browser open. With the stock driver and 12.9 beta it was only turning on when playing games or other heavy app was running at the background.
I spouse if that the case I will go back to stock except if the there something wrong with my configuration.

Here my steps how I did.
    1. Uninstall all AMD software and drivers from control panel/ programs and features
    2. Uninstall intel driver from device manager
    3. Reboot Normal mode(check device manager that both graphics show standard)
    4. Reboot in safe mode and run driver sweeper
    5. Reboot normal mode
    6. Check in hidden files for some rest of amd driver and software if found delete them.
    7. Rung regedit and delete all related to amd.
    8. Reboot
    9. Install Intel driver 15.26.
    10. Reboot
    11. Install 12.11 beta
    12. Reboot

However, AMD GPU fan working non stop.

After finally getting rid of the BSODs, now i come to the conclusion that I still have under utilization. I'm getting 30fps on BF3 low settings, going around 40% usage. Anyone have a clue?

Maybe I can be a help to people with BSODs

I've also had BSOD issues(atikm(something).sys error) before, trying to install new drivers directly on a clean win7.
The issue was that when I install intel+amd driver, they would be fine, but when I reboot I would get BSOD as soon as I get to the windows.

So this is what I did to fix:
clean install windows7 or get rid of any graphics related driver/file/registries via windows uninstall/manual deletion/driver sweeper(I recommend clean installing win7 just to be safe)
install stock clevo driver that contains intel+amd driver(the very first p1x0em 7970m driver-it is on clevo or any reseller's websites)

    from here
I'm not sure if you need 12.9 beta to get it working but I previously had 12.9beta upgraded from stock clevo drivers.
dont uninstall anything from stock clevo drivers. just overwrite the 12.9beta on top of stock drivers. no custom install or anything.
then do the same with 12.11 beta on top of the stock intel+12.9beta driver.

this is what I did and don't seem to have any issues. I need to check though haven't played games on it yet

I tried both this and Tranta's methods, but I keep getting BSODs at restart. The drivers seem to work on the first installation restart, and DX11 games run a lot better and smoother. But any restart after that and I keep getting BSODs. The only way to stop them is to boot into safe mode and uninstall AMD drivers from Device Manager. :(

I also downloaded the 12.10 WHQL drivers which supposedly come with the Enduro fix but when I run it I don't get an option to install an AMD Display Driver or CCC. I'm back to 12.9 which at least causes no BSODs. This is such a letdown. :(

When you say "first set of steps," do you mean Tranta's list or some part of the modified steps I posted? I had the same problem with the CCC initially. It would show an error, then BSOD for me.

Try this: follow the steps I posted again. If the 7970m still has a Q mark in the device manager, use the "Update Driver" option and direct it to the AMD folder the installer created. Reboot. If that does not work, uninstall the 7970m via the Device Manager, including the drivers (should be a checkbox there). Then use "Update Drivers" and direct it to the AMD folder. Reboot.

I followed Tranta's steps exactly and I am running perfectly with no BSODs. Make sure you installed the right Intel drivers.

Also, is it possible to see utilization with Afterburner or another program?

Yeah, Tranta posted two lists with steps. I tried both to no avail. The question mark eventually disappeared after a reboot but then I was back to the BSODs. Everything leads to BSODs so I'm back to 12.9 which works fine. It's a pity, I actually managed to get them working the first time I installed them (I tried a few DX11 games and they ran pretty nice), but then after the 2nd reboot I kept getting BSODs. I'm not really sure what to do now. :/

    Zacfer, do you overclock your 7970m at all? because until I reinstalled my drivers OCing would BSOD my 7970m instantly, regardless of frequency used;

Mine is doing the exact same thing. I've tried every method and order on here, and it still does the same thing. It works the first time after I manually enable the card in device manager and reboot, but then after the next reboot, it BSODs until I uninstall it in safe mode. I've never overclocked it or anything like that.

To get the drivers to install for me I had to:

    1. Uninstall Intel Drivers
    2. Uninstall AMD Drivers
    3. Restart in Safe-Mode and run Driver Fusion and CC Cleaner
    4. Restart in Normal-Mode and install Intel drivers 8.15.10.2761
    5. Restart
    6. Install stock AMD Drivers
    7. Don't restart, and install new drivers
    8. Restart

That's what finally did it for me. Now, why the hell is it so difficult to install stupid graphics drivers? Also, I didn't notice any improvement in Borderlands 2, but did notice some improvement in Crysis 2.

So here's my score, I think it's pretty good! Over 500 points extra compared to 12.9 clevo drivers, very happy :) running 3610qm stock and 7970 at 950/1400:

    Physics Score

5720 why is this so low? :s people are normally getting 6150+ here, and with my oc it should be even higher... can this mean that there's a power draw problem on my laptop when maximizing cpu and gpu??

Has anyone tried Medal of Honor Warfighter with these new drivers? I get a crash on launch every time. I haven't played Warfighter on the stock drivers, but I did try running the game on the Intel GPU and it didn't crash, so I am assuming it could be the drivers. I don't want to revert though because these drivers work great in BF3. Any ideas on if there is a way to get it working? I have managed to get into the game multiple times before, so they work at times.

I tried, it does not. The game still crashes on launch.

Right now I am downloading the stock Sager driver from their obnoxiously slow mirror. In about 2 hours I should be able to install the old ones and see if it helps.

Just to test, I tried BF3 again. I noticed that I crash the first time I load the game in the same way, and then after that, it works flawlessly. I wonder if these two items are related considering the two games use the same engine.

Sorry I was thinking that it was working this way but at the end it didn't work at all. Tried all different ways (cleaning all in safe mode and normal, registers, hidden files, then instaling new amd and new intel get BSOD, then one more time, clean all then new amd plus stock intel result BSOD, one more time, clean all install stock drivers and install new one on top result BSOD. etc.. ) and all the times get BSOD.

I tried the new Beta4, after uninstalling Afterburner and still the same. It works for fine for the first couple of reboots then BSOD shortly after startup of Windows. I always get the same behaviour: The fans start out at max speed as soon as I turn on the laptop / reboot, then after I've logged in to Windows (and only after that) I get a BSOD a few seconds later. I've tried again most of the methods mentioned in the forums for installing it but it's always the same dead-end. I'm getting really frustrated by this, I've had this laptop since June and this graphics card has been nothing but trouble when it comes to drivers. I'm not even sure if it's sensible to wait for a new driver release at all at this point.

If anyone who's constantly had these BSODs manages to find a way around them please let us know. :)

Perhaps I missed it in your posts: Have you tried running Driver Sweeper in Safe Mode to remove the AMD remnants after you uninstall the software via the Control Panel? For some reason, AMD's uninstaller never seems to remove the most important driver files on my laptop. I manually deleted AMD's files and registry entries to start fresh, but I thought that was only my problem. I just uninstalled the 12.11 and found that it, too, did not remove the driver files from my Windows folder. Driver Sweeper seems to work as well as manually removing those files.

I know I'm not Zacfer but I did all of the above and it didn't work. With driver sweeper, manual registry clean, hidden files and nothing worked. Fresh install of all driver after a very good clean and BSOD. Now I'm running new CCC with stock drivers and this way it works. However any time I try to install new amd driver BSOD. Although, I was thinking about something, which I may try tomorrow. When I was looking of stock driver installation procedure I saw that the procedure in CC manger install first amd driver and then intel. However not sure but I don't think something will happen if I try, except may be another BSOD.

I hate to say it, but my "solution" to the BSOD problem was: try random combinations of uninstalls, Driver Sweeper, and driver installations until one worked. At one point, I ended up in a nasty BSOD loop and had to use Driver Sweeper to remove AMD's drivers by brute force in Safe Mode.
