Yep, I did an express uninstall of AMD drivers, deleted all hidden files in ProgramData and AppData, deleted everything AMD related in the registry, uninstalled both display adapters from the Device Manager and I also used both Driver Sweeper and Driver Fusion from safe mode. Then I tried installing AMD and Intel in different orders - but always the same result. The only thing I haven't done is to re-install Windows, but I've read in other threads that people STILL get BSODs on fresh Windows installations.

Surely it shouldn't be that hard to install a driver?

Exact same issue here mate, it may be so because amd left out some of the dx9 binnaries in these drivers.

This is why I never do AMD beta drivers. Basically I think I'll just wait until they have an official release. At the rate they've been developing it, I'd say probably somewhere in the December-February range is likely. If that fixes the problem, great. If not, I'll decide if I wish to shop for another GPU for this laptop, or just deal with it until I upgrade.

Either way I am so done with AMD. Every time I give them another try, I get burnt, I need to learn my lesson.

Because you are not replacing the chipset drivers. The Intel HD 4000 driver you will install only applies to the display drivers. If you delete the chipset drivers without reinstalling them you will probably get BSODs.

I'd say it's safe to buy the laptop, the official driver should be out within the month. The people complaining mostly don't seem to understand what a beta driver is. Yes there are flaws, that's why it is beta. When people say stuff like "Either way I am so done with AMD. Every time I give them another try, I get burnt, I need to learn my lesson. " it makes me laugh so hard. Nvidia has had problem as well. I've personally never had a problem with ATI until I bought the 7970m, but they manned up and started PROVIDING DRIVERS. Stop acting like spoiled brats and be somewhat considerate, they are doing what we want them to do.

    Are these the latest?

LOL, in my case i am a newcomer to high end cards, but i really like my 7970M, its like it has a mind of his own. Its a challenge sometimes and i appreciate that because i have learned lots because of it. Besides i will always support the underdog (AMD) because i really dont want one monopolic company taking over the graphic market.

    ROFLMAO..... your girlfriend.... jajajajajaj

Well, I reinstalled windows and then set up the drivers like I would have from the disc only I used the new Intel and AMD drivers in the place of the stock ones. I had a couple of BSOD's and then it booted fine. Playing BF3 multi has improved a lot. So has BFBC2 which is nice.

The chipset driver should be on the disc that came with the laptop. That would probably be your safest bet, as it was likely tweaked specifically for the laptop model.

Sorry for digging this thread up but I am having problem with installing this 12.11 driver.

I am using Windows 8 pro x64, and I have followed these steps from mysn to install the drivers:
I managed to install these 2 drivers (Intel and AMD) without any BSOD and Windows 8 boots normally, I also have the CCC working well but the problem is that I cannot open the Switchable Graphics Menu, even though it exists in CCC. I tried to access it from the right-click on Desktop, from the CCC menu but nothing happened and it won't open up. Does anyone have the same problem and know how to fix it?

    Thank you.

I uninstalled my old Intel drivers and installed this one as part of the whole process (AMD and then Intel). I had 1 BSOD the first boot up and weirdly it's been pretty stable since then.

Mine works just fine. Didn't have to mess with anything. Game is garbage though so you wasted $35 even if it did work.

You'd probably need to install them yourself. These are beta drivers. You can always ask your reseller for the official answer though.

Anyone try the new 12.11 beta 7 drivers?

    AMD Catalyst

I have all the .exe's set to run in compatibility mode with Windows Server 2008 SP1. It will crash on startup and during the cutscenes a few times still, but it works every once in a while. Sometimes it even works the first time. You have to keep loading the game until it eventually works.

For those of you having issues with BSODs - I highy recommend a clean install.

There are a few here touting that they have had no issues with these new drivers and I thought they were crazy or had something different they weren't sharing. I had to do a clean install due to some other issues and now these drivers work for me with no BSOD on stock clocks. I didnt do anything special - or even anything different then I did before. And my laptop wasnt very old so there really is no specific reason this should have fixed anything.

Im not saying it will aways be the golden ticket but, I have to say - its done it for me for the last 72 hours.

this is the first driver so far i can use since 8.951.60 without BSOD's. will update if they happen later in the day or in the coming days, but with any of the other 12.11 beta drivers i would bsod immediately upon logging in to windows.

I installed them and got some BSODs, have not tried the clean install because yesterday i went in a driver rollercoaster and the only fix was the 12.11 beta 7 (i was trying to rollback to 12.8 but got errors, interrupted installs and such, i even had to delete a bad install with regedit!).
That said i wish you would give me the steps for a clean install, including reinstalling intel drivers. I use the non software amd wipe method (via control panel uninstall and then deleting folders and registry entries).

So far i tried the unplugged restart method and works, but i really dont wanna use my battery each time i restart.

Can we rule out that the BSODs are not BIOS related (at least in some cases)? Could all of those who are experiencing no BSODs with the 12.11 tell their BIOS version?

I suppose those gains aren't over the previous 12.11 :D. So this driver is WHQL or still Beta?

I was tired of doing the installation process over and over again and still gettting BSOD's upon logging on so i finally just downloaded the driver over 8.951.6.0 and no more BSOD. should my driver be just as functioning as any1 doing a clean install? it lists it properly in system information.

edit: like 50-60% fps increase on most games from 8.951.6.0 wow amazing. guys having bsods off of the login, try just downloading it over 8.951.6.0

Thats what I did to get the 12.11 beta 7's going. They worked perfectly for about 24 hours.

These new 7970p Enduro drivers give me the same BSOD's as the previous 12.11 b's. What a disappointment.

Im working like hectic at the moment, so please forgive me if the answer to my question already exists. Bought myself a clevo 7970m.Hitman Absolution (highest settings) is running sub 20fps... Here are my steps so far:
    - installed latest drivers ..... same sub 20 fps
    - installed 14/11/2012 enduro driver.... same sub 20fps
    - updated intel graphics drivers and same outcome
    - unistalled enduro and installed the 16/11/2012 beta driver... same fricking result

What is going on? I saw 40+ avg for Hitman Abs. on youtube.

Could someone direct m to a step-by-step guide to solving 7970m issue, please?

You didn't mentioned anything about it, so I'll ask: Did you go into the Catalyst Control Center and the Enduro area and make sure it is set to use the 7970m, and not the integrated GPU for that specific game?

I cant see that option in the ccc. i put the hitman status on high performance as opposed to power saving

also, the windows index wont rerun. it has a score of 6.9 (graphics) out ofbthe box and crashes if i try to run it manually.

Well did a fresh load of Windows 8 on my Mythlogic Nyx1712, used the Enduro performance driver, the latest Intel driver and so far no BSODs and all working fine.
Currently I have only tested a DX9 title Vanguard Saga of Heroes. I gained about 15-20FPS average, which tells me the game suffered the Enduro bug, and now I am getting full performance. About 6 or 7 reboots, each time loading up the game and logging in.

It also solved my unreadable fonts issue on the screen, you coudl barely read any in game text, now it is smooth and clear as day.
