Express card slot?
-
hmmm looks kinda retro, isn't it? anyways the internals has changed for the better! I speculate it will come out with win7, which is oct/nov.
-
I have a question ...

Sparky894 -
Gtx 280m mxm 3.0 will fit
-
Sorry if thise was answered in the pervious 5 threads, but is there a way to install that kind of keyboard into the M860?
-
I'd love to know this as well... -
Soviet Sunrise Notebook Prophet
Absolutely not.

So will this laptop be an amazing gaming laptop?
I'm currently waiting for a laptop with a core i7 and a nice graphics card...the one sager has is too expensive...
Will it be able to play all modern games in their native settings and what would the prices be like?
I'm really excited about this...after owning a 1.6gig celeron, 60gb hd, integrated graphics 4 year old laptop I'm freakin ready to buy a new one... -
Of course..
-
I wouldn't expect the price to be cheaper than the current models.
-
Seconded
-
Do we know for sure that the next GPU-gen will be MXM3.0b? Or is there a chance that they will produce a new modul?
What about the next gen GPU after that?
Im guessing it is not easy to tell, but just wondering what you guys think. -
The next gen ATI cards are supposed to be released very soon before this system is released.
-
its unlikely the MXM 3.0b will die only seeing 2 cards (which were also on MXM 2.1 ....)

depends on the BIOS and the Chipset
-
-
Sorry to spoil the party, but where does the battery fit in there?
-
-
...by which time Clevo will be vamping up either a re-issue (similar to the M860ETU) or a new model for the same catagory.
I wouldn't be surprised if nVidia got a new set of cards out much quicker though. -
The 300M series is already in the new drivers, so it can't be too long. -
-
-
Top left corner is the DVD drive, boy. I don't know where the battery goes either...
-
It is the battery. It is underneath the DVD-drive. You can see the little tap to open the drive. At least thats what I think it is
-
The battery is 3800mAh now, weaker than M86 with 4400mAh....
-
That can't be good news for those intending to use the machine on the run, running GPU intensive tasks. The M860 was already under strain on battery, those who plugged in a 280M with a quad will know this well enough.

Even though I want sli next, I still enjoy the form factor of the smaller 17" category. I wonder if they've made room for a 2nd HDD... -
hmm it's still kind of confusing the battery location.... How do you remove it? shoudln't it be easy to do so?
-
See the red circle?
See the hard drive ...
Now imagin a battery over the HD -
So is there any source for the speculation of it being out in a few months (or less)? I've been looking into the M860ETU, which is a fine machine, but if this is going to be out soon, I will gladly wait another two months.

Love it, whow the keyboard, the palmrest - non glossy...ohhhhh myyyyy, does it come with a backlit keyboard?
-
SoundOf1HandClapping Was once a Forge
Word on the street is that it does not.
Pity, that. -
Soviet Sunrise Notebook Prophet
Real men don't need backlit keyboards. It looks Apple-ish to me.

eh?
Anyway. Do the MXM 3.0b doesn't give any performance advantages over the MXM 2.1? It would be interesting to know why they felt the change was needed. -
Make money? So we have to buy a new laptop instead of just upgrading the GPU. Buisness in a nutshell.
MXM 3.0b gives higher memory clock I think. -
But at the moment, the amount of people who actually upgrade their GPU's after the initial purchase is still relatively small.
-
But the computer looks great but I dont know how much I would like the keyboard. I never really liked the that style of keyboard on Sonys or Apples. The keys just felt too far apart. -
-
Y, the keyboard is a huge downer imo.
-
I shall keep my manly m860tu then thank you very much. lol
