(in pictures is me (i have bold hair and fat ) and adolfotregosa (he has a small Beard )

(btw: log time since i had that last ATi card... then i changed to a EVGA 8800GTX, add more 2 single plate HD's and made a 4xHd Raid 0.. it was nicely fast XD )

Now i Own a weak Acer 5930g, 4 gb ddr800 cas 5, Wd 320gb 7200rpm, T9600 Stock @ 2.8 GHz and 9600m gt @ 700/1700/1020 but i had to low down a bit because summer is starting here in portugal; here i live yesterday was 33º C and still raisin :S... and since The cooler of the acer aspire 5930 is the worst ting ever crated the gpu was @ 103~104º C and the cpu was @ 93~94... but wen i turned on my Zalman NC2000 was good again, gpu +- 90 cpu +- 80...

hey, it was looking very nice indeed!. i liked that big fan on the outside of the case idea!.

i got an i7-266/6gb ram ocz 2000mhz/coolermaster v8 cooler/gigabyte ga-ex58-ud5 MB/evga gtx280(1)

 

how much did you push your i7 up to?

4.5 ghz on air so far...but wasn't stable. stable at 4.2 true ghz

that's nice the highest i have seen was 3.8 on air.

i heard disabling hyperthreading should push you up higher. but then what's the point of the i7 then.

yeah disable it and see. you push higher maybe 4.5 stable. then you can just enable it if it doesn't work out for you.

It will fit, just needs the BIOS to recognize it. I think it'd be stupid not to, since there are many D901C owners who'd upgrade to 280M that Sager would make money off of, but what do I know

 

anothergeek do you think is possible to fit one Qx9650 (overclockit ) and 2 280m (and overclock it allsow) ?

 

Well you can't OC the CPU, and the 280M awaits someone willing to try. However, it really won't make much of a difference from 9800M GTX. If you could OC that CPU to 4ghz, we'd have already seen a legit 20k 3dmark06 score.

 

too bad about the cpu in the 9262. but it´s only matter of time that some 9262 owner try the gtx 280m, the only inconvenience i see is the mxm 2.1 in the 9262, the gtx 280m in sli is mxm 3.0

 

yeah, im thinking of trying this...if it doesn't work..ill just off load it to a **M570RU** owner

think ill order one tomorrow and see what happens.

and if that goes well, ill just grab the second one and sell the 9800m gtx's since the cards are coming from the same place i got my rig from... so all will work out well if they work.

 

hahaha $490 it´s a lot of money for me (3rd world country). i know that the most capable person to make the gtx 280m work in the 9262 is you john. i hope you can get back all the records the w90 took away from you. (i hate ati)

I'm confused about all the different drivers. If I only play games, and have no interest in benching, what GTX 280 driver should I use?

 

one of the 185.xx driver will be fine.

 

if the GTX 280M works in a D901C with SLI im going to have to go find one without the GPU. That will be very hard. I do not really want to purchase a 9800M GTX with one if im not going to use it all. I could sell it though.

EDIT: Will the Q9650 run GTA 4 Completely Maxed out with -norestrictions? Would an overclock work if I stuck it in a desktop and overclocked via bios and then stuck it back in the notebook?

 

i dont think so. you said that. the bios control the oc in a cpu, so if you change the cpu to the laptop you lose the oc.

for the gtx 280m in the np9262 well it´s only matter of time that john get the card and test it in his laptop.

 

i should have an answer if the gtx280m will work in a d901c...by the end of the week...

nah, i don't think it would since it's temps seem to be lower than the 9800m gtx...
the only real problem is...will he bios recognize it...

i hope allsow... i love the solid MONSTER LOCK of de d901c... the m980 is a bit to bug and allsow a bit to mutch "lighting loke ate me" style.... IMO

 

just got mines. lol. yay. i'm trying to figure out everything on it. it's different from my whitebook. (two weeks i'm dropping in the quad unless a 9800mgtx shows up.)

 

Yes i was egging john on to get the 280s for his rig but sadly i discovered there is no SLI connector on the 280s per JDELUNA's post which is a real bummer , hopefully the M98 cards have a chance to fit in there if not .

what you mean? i asked soviet and he said that there was a a sli connector and it is located the same exact stop as his 9800m gtx.

Ya the M17x cards just might work , I thought we had this discussion dondah about JDELUNAs post ? did something change in that time ? like his card grew a connector or does he not know what he was looking for because he seems like a pretty smart guy . But if Soviet sunrise said something different then ya never know . John will be getting his card soon so he can confirm it either way .

What Mxm are the 9262s ?.

Oh and your gonna have a blast with the nvidia because you get 10,000 sets of drivers to play around with instead of 5 or 6 .

The D901C/NP9262 uses MXM 2.1.

dondadah88. I just shipped out my 9800M GTX. It is on its way to it's new owner.

 

So Soviet Sunrise you can confirm that the 280mGTX has the SLI connector on it ? JDELUNA seems to have said otherwise ?. You guys both bought the 280m from the 5797 i do believe .

 

The GTX 280M on my M570TU does not have the SLi connector. When I sent dondadah88 the email, my implication was that the GTX 280M's that do have the SLi socket will have it in the same spot. We will see the connectors on the MXM 3.0b cards found on the M980NU and the M17x.
