This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    Running afterburner in optimus mode means the program pings the GPU and wakes it up every monitoring interval. The 0 value until then is correct in a way as the card is off.

    Literally the core is off when optimus mode is on and the GPU is not in use. It awaits a wakeup signal from the drivers to power up the core/memory interface to start work.
