Here is a shot of the 660M, its brand new heatsink, and a GPU-z screenshot showing it in all its PCIE 3.0 glory
Also after 5 minutes of furmark its 70C, its REALLY cold
-
why is it in code tags o.o
-
Some help.
edit: no need, all fixed -
Yea the code tags didn't work as well as they used to
-
Not bad... not bad at all. However... isn't PCI-E 3.0 only available with MXM 3.1?

950mhz boost clock explains the TDP.
Also that ram is running at it's rated speed, wonder how much juice it has left. -
-
so if both amd and nvidia have the same possibility of driver problems, i say the comparison boils down to the raw performance and price field. -
let me tell you that i never had driver issues with my 6990m
i had issues with nvidia gt540m, however -
The driver subject is questionable on the desktop department, however, I can tell from experience that mobile GPU drivers are equal garbage on both Nvidia and amd.
-
-
Look at the constant stream of updates to desktop GPU's and compared them with the mobile sphere. It's pretty clear to me.
The "amd driver's suck" argument may be valid at some instances in the desktop market, but in the mobile segment, both ends of the stick are short, there's still a LOT to improve. -
But atleast there's still LV2G for nVidia drivers.. no such resource for ATI ones.

^ there are plenty, previews from Guru3D... Modded ones are easy to make

nice red vs green all out war is about to begin.... again... going to put this thread on watch, this could be more entertaining than the avengers.
-
It would be war if the 680M would come at least close the the 7970M, but so far it doesn't. It will be more like a massacre.

it's delayed cause they are still recovering from the dizziness they gave themselves when they had a facepalm session in the office when the 7970m pissed all over the 675m
but I too need CUDA so badlymight as well wait for them to wake up.
-
sure, lets say 680m will be super awesome that crush 7970m.
but, by the time you can buy the gpu, it will be just like around this time where we wait for say 8xxx radeon???
oh i think CUDA is overrated.(lets throw some gasoline in the fire)

Oh well... lets hope it gets released before august then
gotta start building my laptop before i go to college

Some Clevo resellers suggested end of June - beginning of July for the 680M.

He's too busy playing Diablo 3
edit : or getting a login error which is much more likely. -
Looks good with the Sager support on switchable graphics.
-
let it be black pcb...black pcb....black pcb.....black pcb......!!!! -
-
how about all pcb transparent, fluorescent when powered on, with 7 colors light up alternately -
Ok, ok, I'm sold , how much and when can I have it !!
-
Throw in a mini-strobe light and you got yourself a deal.

I tried to search the thread for this but my browser keeps crashing..
The Sager MP9150 advertise NVidia Optimus technology which turns off the discrete video card when the laptop is on battery power. All well and good. Sounds great. But... i ordered my laptop with the AMD 7970.. which is obviously not made by NVidia. So it begs the question...
Will the laptop switch to the HD4000 video card when i go to battery power or will it keep the 7970 running? -
