That should be quick enough to have my Sager NP9170 before end of May I think.. Will that be the case for most other resellers? Should I just go with Malibal or can I expect other resellers process/deliver around the same timeframe? I really need my laptop fast![]()
Edit: I changed the title because the previous title was misleading and created some problems.

Where did you hear this from o.o is this some marketing trick to attract customers back?
If this is true though, this is excellent, excellent news, since if Malibal has the 7970M by 5/11, so should the other resellers.
EDIT: http://forum.malibal.com/threads/25-AMD-Radeon-7970-pre-order-and-delivery-question?p=87&viewfull=1#post87 -
I got the information from Malibal forum. I hope the other resellers can comment on this so I can make up my mind soon. I've contacted xotic but just say they don't have the exact date. That was few days ago though.
-
If you have not ordered yet you have a long line in front of you.
-
^^^^This. There's such a thing as pre-orders, bro. I've been waiting a week and my P150EM still hasn't gone into production because so many people were ahead of me (I ordered at launch).
-
Wow I didn't know they didn't charge until it was being shipping. I just placed a pre-order. Still better than any later.
-
Am I far front in line if I ordered on the 29th?
-
Wow does Malibal sure with their ETA? If it's true then great. I think these re seller should have some sort of tracking system that tell you the position in the queue. I order last money. I hope my order not too far away...
Xoptic need to clarify whether 7970 release date ETA on 11 or not since they post eta as end of May. -
Yeah, they should be able to tell you what place in line you are.. Once they've got estimates on how many cards they'll have, they should be able to start givin people ETA's..
-
I think I'll just go with Malibal if other resellers can't confirm the new gpu arrival date. Because I saw earlier post by Xotic that its still ETA. Malibal brand is basically the same thing as Sager just different name right?
-

We dont have a date to provide at this time. Sager really dosen't announce specific dates ahead of time as delays can happen then everyone gets bummed out. I do hope the 11th is true as well but we wont know until they are in hand. -
Soo... one day teh 7970M's will randomly show up at your doorstep?
-
I just decided to go through with Xoticpc. Don't fail me!
I really hope 11th is the arrival date. I'm not sure how Malibal can just straight out say it while other resellers have no any idea still. Not sure if the date is accurate either. -
Did you even read what they said?
Not even set to go out until next, IF there are no delays/issues, which I would bet there will be (as with all brand new technology/parts). -
Doesn't Malibal brand their machines off Clevo's? Clevo may have different information than Sager..
-
Yea, I totally expected mine to get it shipped on the 11th (sarcasm). -
I think Malibal get chassis from Clevo and build own brand. They can buy videocard directly from AMD. Xotic get computers from Sager and resell it. Its a different between builders and resellers. Eurocom say that got 7970M two weeks ago and start shipping and selling this videocards on ebay. AFAIK
-
I don't see them selling these cards on ebay. -
Justin@XoticPC Company Representative
They will be available to all sellers about the same time. There are 3 North American Importers of Clevo Machines - Sager/Pro Star and Eurocom. We base our ETA's on what Sager provides us and they are surely basing it off of ETA's provided by Eurocom. Two different sources of Clevo machines but they will both likely get the cards from AMD the same time.
-
I was informed that I should receive my clevo P170EM with 7970M tomorrow, I'll get back to you in case I receive my machine tomorrow.
-

^^ Where is your machine coming from?
-
I bought mine in Portugal, ordered on 9th of April.
-
Maybe it is gtx 675m?
-
No bro I bought an AMD 7970M with I7 3610QM, i ordered mine on 9th of april, I posted on these forums when I made my order, inclusive the link to the store I bought from
I just hope that the ETA is correct, I spoke with them yesterday so if everything goes to plan I should be receiving it tomorrow
-
They confirmed having the 7970 at the shop?
-
They told me yesterday the order would arrive on 09-05-2012
Let's hope so
-
wow you ordered item since april 9? hope you get item tomorrow. I can't imagine the line for 7970m....
-
What is the price for card only?
-
I don't know the price for only the 7970M, i bought a clevo P170EM with I7 3610QM, and the diference between 675M and 7970M was nearly 100€.
-
let's hope that is may 9th not september 5th
-
LOL
They said tomorrow 09-05-2012
But if I do get it tomorrow I'll post here
-
I'm just also struggling between malibal and xotic. Recently malibal has just made a new promotion for the newly registered consumers on their own forum, which is definitely a policy to fight against xotic's policy for nbr users.
-
pastapvz, wich store did you buy it?
-
Isn't that new promotion just a discount for $50 if you spend over $1500? Or is it separate?
-
still, the price ends up being even since the shipping for malibal costs $50 which effectively makes it free shipping
-
Bought it in Portugal,
wsi-bg.com -
For Canadian buyers malibal is the cheapest, although I'm considering either xoticpc or mythlogic at the time Malibal offered the cheapest by adding free shipping and brokerage to Canadian buyers, and that would equal to saving over $120. Slap $50 on that and your saving tons.
-
I bought mine there a fews days and they told me to expect it by the end of the month because They dont have 7970m in stock...
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2 -
I just found that xotic's even cheaper now because they are now providing 8gb 1333 ram with 50 bucks discount, that's why I prefer xotic more actually
Wish xotic could get 7970m as soon as possible... -
I highly doubt that. They are a reseller just as Xotic and Power Notebooks is. The only builders are Origin and Mythlogic AFAIK. Take a look at Malibals options for their systems and they mimic Sagers offerings exactly.
-
No they aren't, they build. They use Eurocom as suppliers for a lot of parts, I believe.
-
I thought they all just price match anyway?
-
If malibal is getting it on the 11th. I'm sure they will all have it on the 11th.
-
Obviously all the resellers are limited by the availability of parts...which they then assemble, and then ship. They have some control over the priority they give in assembly, and shipping can be faster or slower - but nobody can control when parts arrive.
All resellers will provide an 'estimated date' when you place an order...but they should also be able to tell you the day they actually finish assembling/testing your unit and ship it to you. If anyone hasn't actually been informed by a vendor that their unit has shipped and been provided a tracking number, it's likely still in the pipeline. -
You may be correct. However, the couple of times I contacted them they didnt come across to me as being a builder. They have been asked a couple of times that I recall on the forum here and have always dodged the question. I got the feeling they wanted to give me the impression that they were a builder but never gave me a straight answer. If they are a builder I dont know why the wouldn't just tell me that. Also, the limited selection of components and the fact that their options match Sager amost exactly leads me to believe they are just a reseller. They could offer Crucial M4 SSD's for example instead of the Intel 520's and keep prices lower. Bottom lime, when I asked them if they were a builder they never answered with a yes.
-
I highly doubt so. It takes time to assemble, pack and ship.
A day or two delay I would say, maybe less.. but definitely not the 11th, especially not with the delays that keep coming up
-
I'm not getting it today
dam...
-
pastapvz, Why? And you know if they have 7970m on stock?
tks -
This a bit of a quandary, as some things make it look like they are a reseller. However, this is old news and was covered here - http://forum.notebookreview.com/sager-clevo/629173-malibal-builder-6.html#post8131831

Don't forget to add AVA-Direct and RJ Tech. -
Bro I said 9 because it was the ETA for my order, they sell Clevo machines. I was their first order on the 7970M ( they started accepting orders on the 9th of April, date that their supplier made available for order the P170EM with 7970M).
During this week I will receive more info, according to latest info, the order has suffered a delay and will only ship today to Portugal, so I must wait a few days longer.
Regarding Stock, they don't have it. All the machines that will arrive allready have a buyer from what I Know. It seems that they don't make stock of Clevos, all the Clevo machines that they have in their store have a buyer( I went to the store last week to order a W170ER for my nephew and saw the P170EM with GTX675M and Ivy bridge and the W170ER with GT650M with Ivy Bridge in store, but they allready had a buyer)
Must suffer a few more days before I can get my hands on my little beast
