I see that you ordered the screen upgrade with the fancy color gamut, too. I would have done the same but don't have the extra ~$200 to drop on it! Otherwise our system specs are almost identical. (My SSD is Crucial rather than Samsung.)

must.... eliminate.... competitions....
Seriously though, those LCD, gfx card, CPU, and ram settings are exactly the same as mine. I hate you guys and love you guys at the same time right now
EDIT: to beccarte and vergeofinsanity81

What if you ordered just last week? (monday)
-
I ordered mine on the 29th as well, along with two more for friends. Around 9pm. Have a feeling a ton of people ordered the 29th. They said I should be safe for first allocation as well so and considering I'm in production I'd assume so. Here's to hoping for a quick shipment soon
.
-
My order has been on "processing" for a week already without any updates, they haven't charged my credit card yet too. Ordered directly from sager. They only charge when they are about to ship right?
-
You have to admire their dedication to customer service: They are hiring multiple new staffers to accelerate production times for this rush. In their words: "burning the midnight oil."

Nice! Yeah, I wanted to see what the fuss was about with the upgraded screens. I almost opted for the chiclet keyboard as well when I found out about it recently. Surprisingly, I stopped myself from doing the upgrade.
-
Same here. Seems like Jeff has been busy making calls today. Let's hope the suppliers have been busy supplying 7970m's.
-
I first ordered on the 21st...but I re-ordered 3x since then, lol. So my "final order" is from May 7th. I wonder if that affects me?

Please keep in mind delays can happen outside any of any sellers control. There are huge numbers of 7970's being back ordered, which we are relying on AMD to keep constant supply coming.
-
It's a waste of time because this topic has nothing to do with Malibal's customer service.
*Claps emphatically*
Here's my info: 675m's should ship late this week, 7970m's could ship late next week or the week after. 7970m's should arrive at the shop sometime this week, maybe friday.
Mythlogic wanted a button to automatically buy 100 parts, I guess everyone is thinking the same way here.
If my algebra is to be trusted, Mythlogic wants ~$400 for it.
*Claps even more emphatically*
Time to update your sig, bro
Also, make sure to include that you got the first 7970m, that's something to brag about!
-
But if we were in the first shipment we don't have anything to worry about, right?
-
Then why bring it up 5 pages later
-
I ordered a laptop through xotic that had the 7970 in it, but getting it quickly is a big deal to me. I'm considering dropping it back to the 675m, i wonder how fast it would come then :\. Ahh crud, I'm glad I found this discussion or I would have sat here clueless waiting for 3 weeks to get it. Not sure what to do at this point.
-
If your laptop is in production, then I wouldn't loose sleep one bit
-
if you just ordered it now i believe you have to wait until the first week of june because all the 7970m are backordered for the next shipment. up to you, 675m isn't that bad when overclocked.
-
Yea sorry everyone, that magic "make 100 appear button" is also sadly...... backordered.
Darnit!
-
I would like to have one of those buttons as well, Myth.
I guess that is about the equivalent of this Broken I.W.I.N. Button - Item - World of Warcraft -
Ok guys, sorry that took a while but I'm finally getting this beast set up! I'm on it right now and... whew... it is a thing of beauty. First 17.3" laptop I've ever owned, definitely the nicest screen I've ever had on any laptop, and going from a GTX 460m with an HDD to a 7970m with an SSD is a pretty incredible performance jump.
In any case, I've never really properly benchmarked a laptop before - is there a free version of some form of 3dmark I should download, that y'all want me to run to get a sense of the performance?
Also I've already got a problem... my cat is REALLY jealous of this laptop! She seems to understand that I currently have more interest in it than her and has a very hard time allowing me unobstructed access to it at the moment... I think we might be able to work this out with some treats a couple special new kitty toys, but this looks to be a serious issue that could cause some conflict in the harmonious ecosystem of my homelife xD -
running some games on it all max settings and tell us how she does is a start.
-
What is the WEI score of 7970M ?
-
Im sure it depends on the driver and current power settings of the OS.
My guess would be between 7.7 and 7.9 (since 7.9 is the MAX possible score).
My current 6990m scores 7.7 both on gaming and desktop experience. -
It's a meaningless test though. Better to look at the individual benchmarks for the components you have or want.
-
Just checked in notebookcheck.
Its 7.9 (so its maxed)
-
WEI is utterly pointless anyway...

I am afraid there are some bad news incoming but I will let another reseller drop the bomb as last time the info had not been confirmed.

PC-Konsulten.se
AMD recalls all 7970M because of faulty 28nm process? sry, i just don't know what "bad news" might mean... -
Wouldn't be surprised. New process, new problem. would be a problem for anyone using it. Just speculation of course.
-
I hope that isn't true. Isn't the 7970m based on the desktop 7870? If that is the case, then we should have heard about 7870 recalls as well right?
-
Drop tha bomb, Im ready (Boss Mode +100 armor ON!)
-
I'll help... that is if I'm correct.
There won't be a new batch of 7970M's until June. -
May end, June. Same thing imo. Unless it is any time in June. If it is the first week of June, that's not so bad. I mean it is already what the 22nd? It is extended by another week. Ah well.
-
Let's not start rumors please. That leads to people elsewhere saying "I heard all the 7970m's are being recalled" and pretty soon it's everywhere.
PC-Konsulten.se, what's the point in bringing it up if you're not going to tell us what the news is and if you also don't even know if it's true yet or not? -
At first I was hyped for a Clevo P270WM this year. It was supposed to be in-production since November last year.
Then it utterly failed to launch.
Then Ivy bridge was late, launching end of April, beginning of May.
Then 7970m was late, rumored for mid-April (initially for end 2011), then mid-may and finally end-May.
And now its being recalled.
New estimates - mid-June or later.
Well folks, Im happy I got my P150HM and I ain't selling it until something big happens. -
Do you have any sources that make this claim?
-
Guys, why can't we all be just a tad bit less South Park like retarded ?
-
b0b,
We just went through something like this on the p270WM thread. As far as we know, nothing is being recalled in regards to the 7970. People are still receiving their 7970s (for the shipment that made it to builders/resellers). Until we have confirmation / verification, there's nothing to say. PC-Konsulten.se had something similar on the P270WM, but when we asked for verification, that post turned out to be incorrect. I'm sure PC-Konsulten.se is double checking to see if the facts can be verified.
So, in the meantime, let's all take a deep breath. If someone has some concrete news, and wants to contribute to the forum, please do so. Otherwise, let's not speculate or rumormonger of a GPU recall as this usually leads to troll fodder. -
Look around the Clevo Owners' Lounges
Also rumor? I said I'm pretty sure. Besides several resellers have confirmed this. just one SOURCE
Those with big amounts, baches of the 7970M won't run out so far.. but some EU resellers are OUT of 7970M, there's just a too high demand, the Alienware forums are going insane.. the 7970M are too requested
-
A delay because they ran out of stock and are on back order is completely different than a recall, which is where this thread was quickly heading.
In regards to running out / backordered, we already have some confirmation of this from:
Justin, "There are huge numbers of 7970's being back ordered, which we are relying on AMD to keep constant supply coming."
and
Myth, "Yea sorry everyone, that magic "make 100 appear button" is also sadly...... backordered." -
That "source" of yours talks about a chassis delay, specifically, the Vortex III which THEY (pcspecialist) ran out of. There is nothing that says that Clevo themselves have trouble supplying the chassis.
-
I'm quite aware of that, look above, I wasn't the one mentioning a recall
didn't even mention it once.
More 7970M's are supposed to arrive at different resellers the 11th -12th -
Colonel rumors is the must hard working person in every army i see, Not just in the IDF.
But even a broken clock is right two times a day.

Indeed...
People love trying to be the first to break a story. If they're right, they can claim they were the first. If they're wrong, then they hope nobody will remember. -
I'm not up to discussing. I just stated that there was a delay. No more, no less.
-
Exactly. That is why I quoted you, and then included Justin & Myth. In trying to point out what PC.Konsultant possibly meant, I'm hopeful your and the other two quotes help squash any idea of a recall - unless someone can back up that kind of news.
-
There's been no indication of a "delay" either. They've already started shipping, how could there be a delay? They just can't make them fast enough to meet the demand currently. It's not news-worthy as it's pretty obvious. No need to stir up fears in those waiting.
-
Agreed. Nothing news worthy, as both Myth and Xotic have confirmed they've sold out and and are going on backorder.
-
Yep, and Xotic said they're getting a big shipment on the 24th as well which they previously said should be enough to get the orders caught up.
-
A recall seems unlikely as I have my P170EM w/ AMD 7970 and everything seems to be working swimmingly thus far. I suppose there could be something catastrophically wrong, but beyond AMD's version of optimus occasionally annoying the hell out of me and working that out, nothing seems to be amiss at all. And I'm sure any issues I'm having with "enduro" or whatever it is, is because I can be semi-retarded when it comes to mucking about with this sort of thing.
