Update on Radeon 7970m (Sager/Resellers)

Last I heard was 7970m's some time this week. We must be patient! It's hard, I know.

 

Yup. That was from Saturday so I think we should hear something in the next few days.

In the meantime, I've been upgrading my order (moving to 2 year warranty and added a 2nd AC Adapter) - so I guess this delay is paying off for Mythlogic in a small way.

 

How long does phase 2 last at xoticpc? And what is phase 4?

Also did they say they were working overtime during this period for the new release?

 

Phase 2 can range from approximately 4-9 business days presently with thousands of orders going through production. Phase 4 = Shipped

Yes our staff is working overtime. You should be seeing multiple users here shipping since last Wednesday and continuing everyday. Chugging away through back orders.

 

I upgraded my order so much Eric joked that he should have my card number memorized by now!

It's what happens when we have time to accumulate more funds and change our minds as a result

Some people say that not shipping out by an estimated ship date is disingenuous and misleading... so there will always be people who want to put a negative slant on things. I might occasionally reply to something that is brought to my attention, but for all intents and purposes - this account is no longer active.

That has nothing to do with my argument. Address the points I'm bringing up, as I'm not referencing what anyone else said.

There is no negative slant to you telling me there's a 1 week time frame but ultimately giving me a fraction of that. Those are just the facts. If you weren't sure of the duration of the promotions, then you could have said "I don't know how long they will be valid. They are definitely good until the close of business today." or something to that effect. Even after being called out on it, you still only offered me a few hours, when it would have cost you nothing to extend the offers to me for a week (you know, like you originally said).

And, no, your account is not inactive. You're actively posting. It's not as active as it used to be, but you're definitely active nonetheless, which is contrary to your sig.

Again, nothing has been said that refutes you saying one thing and doing another.

TwinTurbo, let it go. Let's keep this about the 7970ms. Arguing is not going to solve your issue and neither will it get the machines with 7970ms to us any faster. That is why the forum has a PM option for matters that are between two users.

 

4-9 days?? I was so excited when I finally saw Phase 2 today. Was thinking it'd be out the door today or tomorrow.

 

I know how it feels. I was expecting more or less the same. But 9 days seems sooo long...

 

I wish we could waive a wand and *poof* all laptops were built, tested and labeled for shipment.

 

That's okay, don't build and test it, just throw all the crap in the box and send it here. I'll worry about the rest

I am on the same boat as you. My phase 2 started on last Wednesday. I have no idea when my unit will start shipping. Predicting my unit will arrive next week

 

This sager 9150 with 7970m is my first laptop ever, and I am overly excited. I feel like a made a good choice with what I chose and just want to see the epicness now! Im playing D3 on my 4 year old desktop and can only play somewhat smoothly on minimum settings.

Any idea on how much it's going to be to buy the card outright?

And I'm in the same boat as you . Started phase 2 Wednesday as well and was hoping it had shipped on Friday and they would have updated my account today to let me know it had shipped as I was told they update the following day sometimes. No such luck unfortunately lol.

 

Man that sucks. Since yall are still waiting I guess I won't be getting it this week like I hoped.

 

Gah, really needed this laptop before memorial day weekend. Doesn't sound like I will with that estimate for production, ever since I chose UPS Ground.

So until what time per day do we stop waiting for an update (meaning when does Xotic PC close for the night with the overtime)?

I honestly feel like a bit of a jerk, being that I have my laptop before anyone else in the thread. I really hope you guys get yours shipped soon! Don't lose hope!

If it makes you all feel any better, I haven't unboxed mine yet. It literally just came in, and I'm so freaking exhausted from hardly sleeping last night and having to stay up all day so I didn't miss the UPS guy (I live on the third floor of an apartment building and the UPS guys never seem to ring my doorbell, ever, so I had be awake and vigilant to the sound of the truck coming down the street >_<) Now that I finally *have* it I'm so exhausted and satisfied that I can barely keep my eyes open!

But in any case, I will give y'all an update and maybe pics later tonight when I do the ceremonial unboxing. Gotta give another shout-out to xoticpc and my peeps Justin and Michael over there for being *totally awesome* and putting up with me and getting me this Ivy Bridge/7970m laptop with an AMAZING 3 week turnaround during launch month. You guys RULE! ^___^

kaworu876, it's funny how you ordered later than I did and got your laptop when mine is still in production

but have fun with your laptop! Post benchmarks plz :O

 

Tracking numbers are provided to us usually around midnight until 1AM. We update them in the AM when staff arrives. So if a Package ships out today you will not get a update until the morning following. We don't work until 1AM, often staff is here until 9 or 10PM when they come in at 7-8 AM. Those are extremely long days.

On a side note please keep in mind that next Monday is a holiday and NOT a business day. There is only 4 business days next week with this in mind.

 

Ah, alright. Another day of waiting... whoopee >.> Do we at least get an update beforehand if our laptop has completed production and is awaiting shipment?

 

Everything happens so quick after production it would only delay orders more if we sent a update that it completed and pending shipment. Orders are put into a queue and are built and tested ASAP. If a order has a problem, it is resolved and testing restarts. Immediately after QA Checkoff it moves to shipment and departs to the customer.

 

My current laptop's graphics card is so screwed up that I have to disable it to be able to even use my laptop. It causes my laptop screen to go almost green and there are lines running all over it

With the graphics card disabled I cant even play Solitaire as it requires hardware acceleration in Windows 7

If only my laptop could some how magically arrive by this month and my friend could pre-pone his trip to bring it to me earlier

Yeah, Jeff got a hold of me from Myth and they are just getting ready so everything will be set once the 7970Ms arrive. They have not yet arrived. They're still waiting.

 

Just hope it will be ship soon. I think your laptop will have the same shipping time as mine. When did kaworu876 receive his phase two message?

It is gr8 to hear somebody got his laptop and is here to share the excitement May be after you do the unboxing with cool videos and pics, could you confirm what version of the drivers have you received? Have official drivers from AMD for the 7970m been released already? No hurry though. I can wait

Alright, looks like I'll have to cross my fingers that tomorrow morning I receive an update. After all, I was moved to Phase 2 on 1:36 PM CST on Friday, so that should probably mean I'm one of the first today to go into production, and you guys just seem to be spewing Sagers out everyday

I think he was moved on the first day.

 

I inquired a couple hours ago via email and was told that they have "no solid ETA," but are frequently contacting their suppliers. They also stated that all 7970m folks were put on "Pre-Order" status but soon will be moved to "Shell Allocated."

Edit: And now my order status has been changed to "Summoning" as well.

 

So, I guess kaworu876 is the absolute first person here to get their hands on a fully armed and operational Clevo 7970M? If so, I say we march on his house with pitchforks and torches if he doesn't get benchmarks up in the next hour!

With Mythlogic, I think seeing your laptop move to "Battlefeld 3 Stage" means it's getting ready to ship.

 

Considering he has to install windows first...

 

Mine too was moved to Phase 2 on Friday but at 18:17 GMT Hopefully I will be getting mine a bit earlier

 

Mine "should" ship before the end of the week. I'd much rather prefer "will" to "should" but what can you do. :/

Sager has said that for NEW orders that come in with the 7970M... the wait may be to the first week in June or so. Sorry.

Looks like myth is starting to contact their clients, myself included. The shipping wont happen till first week of June (thats IF they get the 7970's soon). With that said, unless you have rush shipping on your laptop, don't expect it till the following week. Later than I had hoped for but what can you do, not their fault that they got the 7970's late. At this point, I just want a fully functional laptop when it does arrive. Good thing they do extensive testing on their machines.

 

That is sad news for any body planning to order now I am sure its still going to be worth the wait for people ordering

 

I ordered mine on Mythlogic on 9th, my check arrived there around 11th... and seeing my status still being Pre-Ordered... I am sad :'( I just hope there are not TOO many people in front of me T_T
p.s. but then again, it's only been like 10 days so... I should take it easy but it sure feels way longer than 10 days heh.

But hey, at least you're pretty much guaranteed nothing's wrong with your laptop when you receive it.

 

FYI, I ordered mine on the 29th of April and the guy (who was very nice) said that I should be safe for the first allocation of cards, but it will be close.
