I believe there is only one major supplier in the uk and everyone gets their machines from them.

That makes sense, and is also rather annoying.

I've been following this thread for ages and wondered when there would be availiability in the UK - sounds like it's coming soon
-
@rancid, re: your heat issues, have you tried bumping up all the "power saver" options? Especially for web surfing etc, maybe severely throttling down the CPU would "fix" it? Also: do you think the 4700 would have any issues?

I just ordered mine from Scott at PWN PCS (UK). I'm a first time customer, so I hope I have a good experience. I ordered last night and was told I should have it in my hand by this Friday!
It was confirmed to me that there is no 4702 CPU or 7200AC wifi card option sadly.

What config did you end up getting? Did they confirm you the screen panel?
-
Hi,
Do you offer a French keyboard option? -
Nice one - can you let us know what model number (1080p) screen you get? And also what the customer service is like? I've never ordered a Clevo model before so weighing up my options in the UK.

So I started playing around with OC last night to see what we can get out of the the 765M and when adjusting the core using Precision-X it doesn't appear to do anything. If you run Furmark at the same time the core/throttle boosts never change while if you adjust the memory it does indeed change. I was able to mine up to +475mhz on the memory side before the temps even took a 1-2 degree hit, I think you could safely OC the memory side +500mhz for long-term gaming but I haven't confirmed that yet outside of letting Company of Heroes 2 run in a loop for about 20 min and Furmark.
Has anyone else had a chance to play with OC? Curious to see what others results are and if adjusting the core is gaining them anything. -
For the ones who have got it, does it have decent clearance at the bottom to allow good airflow? I have a M11x R2 and the clearance is non-existent therefore making it overheat when playing a game if it's not propped on something.

I went for:
- 4700 CPU
- 240gb Intel 520 2.5" SDD
- 16gb RAM
- Intel 6235 wifi (I wanted bluetooth, no AC option)
- 1 yr dead pixel guarantee (I hate dead pixels!)
I don't know which screen manufacturer I'll get - I'll take a look as soon as I receive it (on Friday hopefully) and post here.
Thanks,

I just ordered from hawkforce.de:
PROCESSOR: Intel Core i7-4702MQ 2.2GHz/3.2GHz Turbo 6MB L3 Cache
RAM: 2x8 GB DDR3 1600
HDD: 2.5 "1000GB 5400rpm SATA3
mSATA SSD: Crucial M4 SSD 256GB mSATA III
WLAN: Intel ® WiFi ADVANCED-N 6235 (300Mbps) + BLUETOOTH
I should have it by next week at the latest, they're only about a 3 hour drive from where I live. -
I'm also looking into ordering from these guys, sent them a message on the forums asking which panels they use, we'll see what they say. I'm so glad it's available and in a near barebones config it's only £700 or so, time to sell my old laptop and do whatever I can to afford this

The end of this thread is nigh guys. There's been talk now since wingnut put up a review of the 7330, first impressions thread, and an owner's thread that this one's day is done...
And on that note, maybe last post, I ended up ordering a 7330 (4800MQ/16GB) from lpc Friday based on wingnut's impressions and good undervolting results tempwise. -
I think the mods need to close or combine this with the owner's thread that way people won't get mix up with 3-4 different threads about the W230ST.
-
I think we should just close this thread and continue discussion in the owner's thread. I will put in the request.
-
Thread closed per OP request, as this laptop is now released. Please carry on in the Owner's Lounge thread, here
