    That's the whole point of turbo after all, to maximise speed where loads are not 100% crazy. If maximum speed was rated for prime95 usage then the 8700k would be a 3.6Ghz part (not exact number but you get the idea). Now in your games it would be 3.6Ghz as well because at some point you might want to run prime, this is wasted performance. So Turbo was brought in, under less insane loads lets go to 4.3Ghz or maybe higher, why not as this is still in spec.

    absolutely agreed and im very happy with the performance. thanks for the link re furmark.

    overall I would cautiously say to anyone who is considering a purchase that the machine performs as one would expect and is certainly not crippled or limited that I can see.
