Hell, I just did a clean install (For the most part). What I did is purchased a Win7 Pro license, installed that from USB, then immediately forced an update to windows 10. The only caveat, is that while on Windows 7, I did have to manually install my WiFi driver so I could connect to the internet. Other than that, I haven't much problem with drivers at all to this point.

Windows updated everything for me except 4, 6, 10, 11.

    Hope that helps

If you are monitoring the temperature then you are turning the GPU on with the monitoring program usually.

You are correct. I calculate the time when the fan is almost to spin on I open the app and check GPU temp and it is reaching threshold and soon the fan start to spin. Before Windows10 whenever I open the temp check app the GPU temp is always low, consistently.

    Greetings-

I have a getting up there Sager NP-5760-V (M570U) with a nVidia Quadro Pro 2500m vid card. The hinges were broke and I was lucky to get new hinges from Sager, about all the parts they had left. So I installed a SSD HD and a copy of Windows 8.1 Home and voila! All well, the SSD really sped things up. Yesterday I installed Windows 10. After a couple of rounds I found the right Video drivers from Sager, use the Vista beta drivers. So far they have stuck and not reverted to the crummy generic vid drivers supplied by Microsoft.

The final test was to run Autodesk Inventor 11, a rather long in the tooth in age 3-D modeling software, which I bought the laptop for in 2007. Smoooooooth as silk! Even the sleep function works correctly now! Wifi is working fine as is the sound.

So far I see no reason to go back. Windows 10 is a much improvement over 8.1. I now have Win 10 on all of our machines. Pretty cool to keep this old work horse going so well, especially when you consider it cost $3300 when I bought it!!!!!

Okay in windows 10 I have that default search bar turned off and closed which I believe is part of the "Cortana" which I cannot get to close, in task manager I end the task it just restarts it self everytime...how do I stop this from happening? Same thing with whatever "Evented I/O JavaScript" is not sure what it is but it is something new running in windows 10 that I cannot get to stay shutdown I end the task it just reopens very annoying because I am the type of person who just hates to have random programs and tasks running in the backround that I don't use or have no purpose for me and there are freaking so many tasks and programs running that are named all sorts of weird names that I cannot figure out what their purpose is or how to keep them shutdown ?? Would be really freaking awesome if there was a list some where with the names of all these tasks what they do why they are there, if they are necessary etc...I really am liking windows 10 but with my OCD or w/e I hate all these dang random tasks in my task manager :/

Generally if you kill a process and it re-appears, it's because it's registered as a service (at least in my experience). You'll want to go into the services console (rather than task manager->end task) and toggle it to manual or disable there. The only hard part is finding out what it's called. While I think you can adjust services a bit now in the task manager, I always use the main services area: win key + r (to open run console) and type "services.msc" and hit enter. There are probably a half dozen other ways to get there as well.

That is weird. Did you do a clean install?
My camera is working perfectly with Windows 10 Pro.

Only thing I'm still missing is Sound Blaster Cinema.

    Hello,
I'm an annoying problem here, I did a clean install of Windows 10, everything is working well, actually almost everything.
The problem is with the laptop temperature is rising too, especially during the games.
When I play in any game the temperatures rise too, come to 98 CPU temperature varies around 92/96 degrees and VGA 88/90 degrees
Before the win 8.1 temperatures did not exceed 80 °
I used Windows itself to try to lower the temperature.
In Power Options, changed to balanced, Advanced options limited the processor clock to 2.4MHZ, but to no avail.
Can someone please help me lower temperatures?
    Thank you.

    My laptop is a W355SSQ Clevo - intel i7 2.8 / 3.2mhz - nvidia gforce 860M - 8GB Memory - Samsung SSD Evo

If your temps are getting THAT hot, it's DEFINITELY not a problem with your software/OS. Re-paste your laptop, those temps are dangerous.

Check your power setting is on balanced rather than high performance. A re-paste is still not a bad idea with some high quality compound however.

I continue to have Driver issues with Intel/AMD.

    "THREAD STUCK IN DEVICE DRIVER"

that's the error I receive no matter what version of AMD drivers I install. The problem is the Intel drivers. I uninstall the driver, and install a stable version (14.2 Omega+an older Intel version)... MS then pushes an update, and installs 15.7 and the latest Intel drivers. I'm on Home edition so I can't stop auto updates.

Omega+Older Intel gives me near max utilization... 15.7+Newer Intel driver renders switchable graphics useless. All my games unperform. In Assetto Corsa, I go from 123fps (14.2 Omega) to 20fps (15.7). Even when I set the game to high performance it still stuck at 20fps (15.7).

It's been a very frustrating experience. The Intel drivers are clearly the problem. But with forced updates I'm pretty much SOL until Intel releases drivers that "play nice" with AMD's drivers.

Hey, i bought a P650SE from a place called PC Specialist a few weeks ago. The laptop arrived on Tuesday and so far i've been really pleased with it, but there's one slight problem which is letting things down for me at the moment. When i recieved the laptop it came preinstalled with WIndows 8 and of course i wanted to upgrade straight away to Windows 10. But rather than going through the lengthy upgrade route inside the operating system, i decided to wipe the entire drive and use a USB which i had prepared the day before. The whole procedure went fine and i managed to install all the necessary drivers, but i've had an issue with getting the fingerprint scanner to function properly. I have tried the fingerprint drivers from the PC Specialist, Clevo and Schenker websites, but when i go into the Windows sign-in settings the option for setting up fingerprint recognition is greyed out and disabled. The scanner does appear under Device Manager as the EgisTec ES603 and there isn't a caution sign besides it. I remember when the laptop was briefly on Windows 8, there was a piece of software installed called BioExcess, but since upgrading this has disappeared and it hasn't reinstalled itself with any of the drivers. Any help would be most appreciated, as i'm not sure what to do next.

Did you first create a password? You have to have a password before you can sign in using a PIN, fingerprint, or photo.

Well besides having the fireball 980Ms, my right shift key decided to fly off. I don't even use that key because I always hit the arrow key instead since I can't get used to a 15 inch keyboard. It's a clip design but I got the clip back together but can't get the key to pop back in the metal holder so I figured that was time to make an RMA about the heat my system hits as well... 980Ms shouldn't hit 87C. It has to be an electrical problem so I'm hoping they will replace the motherboard or the whole system. Both pairs of my 880Ms started off fine and then rapidly increased in temperature as well. There's something majorly wrong when a machine sitting in a room kept between 69 and 71F year round is hitting thermal throttle while people sitting in a 90F ambient are hitting 78C... 3 RMAs in a year and 2 months :/

But yeah, it doesn't make any sense. Hopefully they can fix your system.

I can't get any gestures to work. It doesn't bother me because I don't use the touchpad that much. Well, not anymore ;(

Windows 10 kills my keyboard and touchpad, made 2 attempts, upgrade then wipe and clean full install. Same issue. In fact, now on the clean istall even an external generic keyboard doesn't work. Any ideas, Windows insists drivers are up to date, even tried directing it to the drivers CD from Sager. Model 9390-S. Guess I gotta stick with 8?

When I went over to Windows 10, I didn't do anything to any drivers besides my video cards, either the drivers I had were fine for windows 10 or more likely windows 10 just auto downloaded all the drivers it needed and they work fine, have you tried not installing any drivers once you have a fresh windows 10 install? good luck man

Sager does have 10 drivers up now on the site, including the touchpad which seems to be about the most troublesome driver. So it might be worth checking that out for people having issues with it or thinking of going to 10.

Just a reminder, its always best to test a new OS using a bootable drive or a dualboot. New OS always will have compatibility issues in one way or another and doing that method with a fresh clean install on older machines is primary. That way you can test it out and examine it without driving yourself looney lol or risk corrupting your existing files or apps.

Just fixed this problem on my P375SM, I had the Sentelic mouse pad. The steps are as follows:
    1. Remove the touch pad driver from the Device Manager
    2. Download this tool http://download.microsoft.com/download/F/2/2/F22D5FDB-59CD-4275-8C95-1BE17BF70B21/wushowhide.diagcab
    3. When the tool loads, select hide updates. The tool will check for updates, select the updates that you don't want and that's all :D

When my gpu(7970m) died, I had my drive formatted and reinstalled windows 7 quite a few times in my frantic attempts to revive it (eventually, getting it reballed fixed it for me). As such, I did not hesitate much when windows 10 came calling (system was already a fresh install).

While there have been some small issues here and there, for the most part, I am satisfied with this. Mainly because those issues have been resolved (more or less).

If anyone has any questions, feel free to fire away!

I have some questions so what you are saying is this tool will hide updates for win10 under its updating program but the tool will it self then continue to check for updates and then you can select which updates you do or don't want? just need a little clarification of how this tool works...thanks :p

Yes, it restores to some extent the "hide updates" functionality. But you have to run it each time you wish to hide them, I believe.
