The tool basically looks for all updates, and then enables you to hide them, so they won't ever be installed again without you manually doing so. You can also unhide the updates that you hid before whenever you want :D

This tool is a Windows 10 gold mine as I understand Windows 10 Home updates, not running it yet but downloaded. ;)

Has anyone tried to do a fresh Win10 install on a Clevo P157SM with a AMD video card (HD8970M)? I had the keyboard/touchpad issue when performing a Win10 upgrade from Win7 and also crash shutdown when trying to use it (no pattern, it would just turn off after a while). According to Prostar (where I got my laptop from), Clevo has NO plans to update ANY of the drivers for this model (even though they did update ones for the P157SM-A, go figure). Any experience shared would be most appreciated.

Why can't use drivers from 157SM-A? A lot of the drivers I use on this machine are not from ZM, but from ZM-G and DM.

Has anyone successfully a Clevo P650SE from Windows 8.1 to Windows 10? Ideally I'd like to do clean install, but I think you have to do an update first.

So - I used Windows update to upgrade to Windows 10 from Windows 8.1 - this initially seemed to work, but then I lose all my networking. Probably a driver problem, I think, so download and install all the Windows 10 drivers I can find from the mysn.co.uk website for my XMG P505, but this makes no difference. Networking is still dead and system still reporting the drivers have a problem.

So, I back up all my files and go to the Windows Update settings and say I want to install Windows 10 and don't want to preserve any of my existing files or settings, thinking that this will do a clean install, but when the computer tries to reboot to do this I get a "Page Fault Found In A Non Paged Area" error (which I never saw in Windows 8.1) and the re-install process is aborted. It does this every time I try to repeat the re-install. I have now had to revert back to Windows 8.1

AFAIK there is nothing wrong with the hardware of the computer.

Is there a workaround for this? Can I download the Windows 10 files from Microsoft and try to do a fresh install that way? I was thinking this might not be possible and the free Windows 10 upgrade is an upgrade and not a licence for a clean install from scratch, but maybe I'm wrong?

    Any suggestions welcome! Thanks

Have you re-downloaded your install image?

I had a similar problem with my Ethernet connection when I upgraded from Windows 7 to Windows 10, wifi still works though.

I got the Ethernet problem solved by downloading the Ethernet drivers from Realtek, and it seems to work.

    BUMP!

So apparently the new AMD drivers have solved the switchable graphics issues (for now).. I should note that I'm using Win 10 insider build.

Too little too late though. I'm getting a new Sager with a 980m at some point in the near future.

    Well this is my experience:
i tried to download and install windows 10 usin the "media creation tool" and then upgrae this PC now.
during the driver install and update process the notebook booted and gave an error (i dont remember if I saw any reports). Then it tried to fix and finally it reverted to original state (my starting windows 7 install, which happily works as it used to).
So what should I do? Keep waiting for an unlikely updated and compatible installer?
MY rig is P150EM i73610 with radeon 7970M (where did the signatures went in the new forums??)

Microsoft Windows 8.1 was the point where they started this.. Which is a good idea IMO..

They used to offer the older ones too, they just had a funny point in the middle.

    Update:
I donwloaded windows 10 to a usb pendrive and then upgraded my windows 7 to windows 10. My former problem was that i selected a different language (spanish) than my windows 7 install and the system does not allow that apparently.
I succesfully installed windows 10 after all.
    Issues:
    1) My 7970M became unrecognized hardware. This was easily fixed installing the latest AMD drivers *crimson*
    2) Most of my previously installed games stopped worknig, they just wont open mostly. I figure reiinstalling them might fix this, but so far I had no time to do so.
    3) In Dota2 I get intermitent low PING issues, the game seems to hop a little or a lot, not sure if this is network related or due to the upgrade and some driver wifi issue? Its not serious, but sure annoying sometimes. Unsure if this is a GPU related issue as well.
    4) My 3dmark11 score dropped around 200 points (6980 to 6760 or so). Again i am unsure if this is win10 or the AMD crimson driver.
    5) GPU utilization is a lot higher, almost 100%, but my GPU temps also climbed to over 80 (used to be 75 tops)

That would be so far. Its been a very hectic week and I had really short time to test and analyze issues.

I did the win10 upgrade from win7 to be able to use my 32 GBs RAM, since win7 home only uses 16 Gb tops..

Checking the hardware list it all seems to be correctly installed, no issues reported there. My fingerprint reader worked after I activated it again in control panel. Some games reassigned from high perf to unassigned in crimson panel.

Would you reccomend going back to AMD beta drivers? Might that fix sues?
