If I win the lottery, make a daring bank heist, steal and sell the Mona Lisa, or stumble upon a sack of cash on a remote dirt road somewhere, I will definitely buy this. Until then, sucks to be poor.

I still won't buy it... too big, too heavy and rather expensive, although I could go for a cheaper configuration -> 2000-2500 USD and than upgrade throughout the years until I get the notebook fully loaded.

If they would only make a W880CU like laptop (same weight) with 2 hours battery life and a 1920x1200 screen that would be the perfect laptop for me, ah.... dreams.

With those prices I may just go the desktop route with an equivalent card to the 480m. Unless you travel alot I just can't see the justification for spending that sort of money.

It's definitely AW territory. Unfortunately, Clevo forgot the lit keyboard and other niceties important to this market segment.

Whether or not it's justified for the GTX480 remains to be seen.

I think it will still sell though-

According to Clevo website the x7200 will be released with 480s only. No word about 5780s.

Pity. I would be on this laptop like white on milk if it offered ati cards as well as nvidias.

It is Ati crossfire capable. It's up to Clevo importers like Sager, etc, to make it an option.

I am well aware that the X58 chipset supports both SLI and Xfire but if Clevo doesn't release the 5870s for the specific laptop then what can a reseller like Sager do?

Well...why has the x7200 been taken down from Clevo's website? Maybe they are updating specs and such or they decided it's too early to post it.

Yes it does and at least it has a strong hinge but again something i can't afford so better i trade for a D900F anyway, nvidia is going to kill the price.

LoL Clevo likes to fool us about the thickness, if you would see the X7200's pic taken from below here:
Computex spotlight: Clevo and notebook innovation
You will see how thick it is, and how it's made to have a thin extrusion at all the sides, while the thick bottom is hidden underneath.

x7200 page on clevo's website taken down. just hoping that they didn't remove the dual 480m and the over clocking options / features. no point of owning extreme processors if it can't be used extremely. :D

I wouldn't be surprised if they removed it and left the D900F till Q4 and then replaced it with the renewed X7200 with Sandy Bridge and dual 480M ;)
Just a thought, of course. But frankly, there's no point in keeping both D900F and X7200.

the specs here are mind blowing i was tossing up between the m17xr2 with crossfire 5870's or the sager 8120 with sli 285m. but after looking at this beast i might hang out for one. i wonder what type of gpu benchmark points this thing will boast?

    A few pics of X8100/X7200/W880 Ytelse i fokus - Hardware.no

Click on them to make them large.

As you can see, the X7200 looks to be quite thick. Even thicker than the D900, perhaps.

Doubt the info on the X8100 is correct tbh. They are saying it will be equiped with GTX 480M SLI and will "only" weigh in at around 4kg. I must admit that the X7200 looked really thick from that picture :S Where are these pictures taken at anyways? And 4,8kg for the X7200 sounds a little low too doesn't it? Would guess around 5,5kg+ :p
