Yeah, it's overclocking the usb ports polling rate from the basic 125hz up to 1000hz... (tho getting it up to 250-500 is already a huge improvement and the rest is somewhat neglible)
It relates to the response time of the mouse as in 8ms (in 125hz) -> 1ms in(1000hz). Most modern mouses come with drivers that enable high rate polling anyway.

well, if you have a reasonably new mouse there should be no need to do it. I have an mx518 that doesn't use high poll rate but I haven't been playing fps lately and I doubt I could feel the difference anyway.

not sure thats possible on switchable graphics systems. but if it is, ud have to look for an option in the intel driver, since the igpu controls the display output.

Yes and the custom options wont let you set above 60hz hence no luck with intel chips.

I've noticed on my p370 when I overclock the refresh rate my screen driver fails to load. Says something about stuck in memory.

Running 90hz on my P370 CF-7970m for most of the day with zero problems i noticed at 70hz there was some flicker but not at 90hz.
Tomb Raider benchmark average at 68fps.

im getting this under device manager

Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware because a previous instance of the device driver is still in memory. (Code 38)

    Hey,
I'd like to know if there is any way I can overclock my laptop screen to anything higher than 60hz. I tried through the nvidia panel and the option to customize is greyed out and also though the intel display panel and when I try to put anything higher than 60hz it says "the custom resolution exceeds the maximum bandwidth capacity".
Here is a pic with my computer's specs:

    Thanks.

I am running an NP9390 and just overclocked my monitor from 60hz to 120hz stable. No artifacts or color distortion.
Monitoring temps and there doesn't seem to be an issue.

I wasn't able to force DOTA 2 to run at 120hz in full-screen mode, however running in a borderless window solved the problem.
V-SYNC on 120hz in DOTA without issue.

I have a 120hz display that's sitting at my office.
    Only problem is that it's a 50pin connection vs. a 40 pin.
My question is can I run the 120hz monitor with a 40 pin, as I believe the extra 10 pin connection is for 3D. If it has anything to do with power, then the obviously answer would be no...
I'd rather OC the 120hz screen on a 40 pin connection (if necessary) than this current 60hz screen.

    Best,

    Lane

No the 50 pin requires a 50 pin cable, physically and electrically.

WOW. i haven't posted in 10 years probably. Was gaming on a laptop back then too :D For example the first Ferrari laptop (red)....curved keyboard haha.

THANK YOU for this. I LOVE YOU. Was thinking about modifying my BIOS on my Lenovo Y500 but it seemed like a daunting process. This was so simple and I can definitely tell a major improvement. I've literally played thousands upon thousands of hours of counterstrike (now CS:go).

No as it requires something to be developed for the intel IGP set.
