It should max all fans.
-
They are both controlled using the same shortcut . And will will reach max rpm with fn+1.
-
Roger that.. although hwinfo doesnt show fan info for me.. any ideas?
-
-
Care to elaborate please? Remember, dealing with a noob here
-
When you launch HWinfo, it asks you if you want to enable reading the EC sensor. There is a corresponding option in the settings as well.
I don't know where it is exactly. But shouldn't be difficult to find . -
Nothing about EC sensors either opening or in the settings menu :/
-
I don't have my system with me, so can't look for you. Maybe someone else might be able to check.
-
As long @Terrablade run Stock clockspeed on graphics, shouldn't all games crash with stock fan profile. Re-paste and rearranging the pads is what he should done first. Of course will maxed fans help, but this doesn't fix his underlying problem

The repaste is not even 2 month old... Ihavent even touched GPU overclock... yet i dont ee anything related to the fan in the sensors screen
-
Make sure Clevo Ec is activated for monitoring in the application window. Use Fn+1 and you can see the fans are running fully speed.
Do a re-paste
And perhaps the thermal pads are not placed correctly.

you lost me there pal.. Where is that Clevo EC again?

I have it like so but i dont see the second part :/
-
Press Fn + 1 and take screenshot of everything shown in Hwinfo.

When you launch Hwinfo first time. See link http://forum.notebookreview.com/thr...n-gaming-they-do-kick-in.688339/#post-8844464Georgel likes this.

May need to repaste and apply more paste. Be generous as with notebooks it's almost always required.

but still, the fact i dont get that option is bothering me

delete hwinfo, reinstall fresh, check again if it asks you for ec

I don't get that screen on start either. No idea why.

So i was going though the graph that you get with Ctrl+F and i got this :
Is it normal ?
also even with added voltage i cant seem to go beyond 2037 boost. 3D Mark always crashes. I haven't seen any weird artifacts yet, so im sure it can go further.
I haven't flashed the XOC bios yet, are you guys also using the same one?temp00876 likes this. -
If you have shorted the resistor partially, you can forget the other voltage points and only play with 1.093v. Using 7MHz increments up or down.
I believe K|NGP|N said that for every -50c, you get additional +100MHz on the core or so. CMIIW, but the point is that voltage really only helps after you manage very cold temperatures on the GPU. Below 40c maybe.
At this point though, it's more beneficial to overclock memory and see how far you can go. Try start with +0 (control) and +300MHz (baseline OC). Increase +25MHz for every few Firestrike (Ultra preffered) runs and average the GPU scores.
When you overclock too high the score will scale backwards in proportion to your OC. That's when you dial back slowly by a smaller increment.
Most G5X can do +500, but I heard that the ASUS has a different memory timings, can't really be sure, but I'll leave that up to you to discover the benefit or downsides.CaerCadarn likes this. -
Neah, i have not done any shorting shenanigans yet. Doubt i will, until my desktop is setup.
I haven't tried anything over +300 on the memory yet but that was with the core at +100. -
a ok -
Which BIOS are you on ?
-
Am on zotac 1080 amp, not strix
Power limit is around 275w, I don't need the resistor mod -
Other than the resistor mod, does your card need a custom BIOS ?
-
That mod will help some, but to be optimal, you need to be below a certain temp.
-
Temp is not an issue anymore.
I can keep the card under 45© , next to the AC vent
Even cooler if I prefer getting hypothermia
-
Then you should be able to do 2100+ standard if your temp is right.

Hmm, I'll give it a shot with FS Ultra tonight. Overwatch pushed the card to 2050 last night with max temps at 48C.
-
Damn slaying ultra in SLI! NICE!
What's your max single card FSU score like?Johnksss likes this. -
Thanks.
Don't think I ever got around to running one. I don't see any scores in my list. -
Gotcha. This is my best with the 1080 so far -

When you mod the power resistors other factors can come into play still.

You want it at a nice medium rare for the perfect balance of flavor and texture.
-
Will Sous Vide'ing it work ?
-
Yeah, but be sure to overvolt it so you get a nice crust.

A slight sear on the outside is always nice to keep it juicy on the inside of the steak. It only goes bad if it gets over cooked...beef jerky, but anything before that is optimal and makes for a perfect steak.

Another round for the baby beast 4790K and single 980M...

And, a quick peek at the power draw... 369W max according to my UPS... peak CPU 189.4W and 204W from the 980M

Damn, 4.8Ghz on air with a 4790k .
In other news, people are so ignorant : https://forums.geforce.com/default/...-cards-over-m-2-ngff-mpcie-/?offset=3#4992413ajc9988, Papusan, temp00876 and 1 other person like this. -

jealous! wish i had that portable A/C unit of urs, i could get my 4790k to 4.8 ghz AND keep it cool at the same time
btw, any details on that fix to getting the bus speed to stick to 100 mhz or above?

Yeah, AC benching is wonderful. And, my office is nice and cool, just the way I like it as an added bonus.
You should get one for both of those reasons. No more hot summer nights dragging you down, or your beast.
If @Prema releases a P7XXZM BIOS update to the public, then you'll have that BCLK and Spread Spectrum functionality. That's what fixed El Cazador for me.
