I know you were but I was pointing out the working alternative has room for tweaking too considering that was what people are suggesting ;)

Hummm....We know G skills work, but what was being asked is "does corsair work" That is what we are waiting on.

I think you may be referring to another thread other than this one.

And for the record. Your working alternative is using to much voltage. This is 1.2V ;)

    And this one, still 1.2V

He said he was sticking with G. Skill in this thread ;) as for the voltage it means I can ensure stability due to the marginal impact on heat I have run with the higher voltage.

Interesting though it could be a readings blip. A usage/clock/voltage graph over time would be interesting.

Wasn't actually. Held steady for about 20-30 seconds, before the temp threshold kicked in.

What sort of voltage are you hitting then when it brings it down? That graph would be interesting as it's different to the behavior I have seen.

I think tops i saw was 1.131. After the clocks dropped to 2088 voltage was at 1.125.
I didnt quite save the afterburner graphs.
This is a run i just did :

Whats weird is that the clock for clock performance for some of the runs i did last night is lower compared to this run. Im trying to set a profile for 24/7 use, and even though frequencies over 2062Mhz hold steady, the fps doesn't quite back them up, Anything around 2062 and 2088 works perfect and the increase in performance is easily visible. Even the voltage never dips below 1.111 to 1.131. However the fps in Heaven/Valley seems to scale way more than it does in 3DMark.
Part of the lower scores is definitely because everything is being run using standard drivers and on the ****tiest Windows install possible.

My card still refuses to go over 1.0625v even for a moment but the power limits are higher as the clocks remain stable.

The AMP or the notebook one?
Im sure modded BIOS can push it further..
I was constantly hitting the power limits with my overclocks on the stock BIOS.

    Gotcha.
But at least on the notebook cards the temp curves seem to be way more forgiving than the desktop cards.

Im sure Prema might be able to do something about the voltage though.

Just some shenanigans going on to have the MXM ports disabled and shift the whole output to the 1080 eGPU.

Right, Intel could be using the headroom in the 6700k as the "increase" for the 7700k, leaving less headroom for user OC.

The 7700k might end up having essentially the same top end as the 6700k.

Probably better than the failure 4770K vs 4790K. Both @ 4.8GHz and with almost the same score (best 4.8 GHZ bench for both in HWBOT)

I just did a retest. The speed difference is definitely there. That was windows 7 also.

    Edit:
Under windows 10 the gap gets smaller, but still very evident.
    Ran at 4.2.

No real samples to test against. Only one person so far and can't tell if he has a ES or Retail sample at that. Tweaking or stock. Over clocked memory or stock. Still a few unknowns at the moment.
I was only doing the clock for clock test.
I was at 105% while the 7700K was at 111%

Still do not know for sure until more samples are posted using the 7700K

It should. The CPU is compatible with the chipset. If it is not, a microcode update to the bios should allow for the cpu to work with your machine.
