It was running fine with the 6700k and the new bios just not as soon as I put in the new processor. Just was not sure if there was any process I was missing or anything I could do to get it to start up.

Jesus, that means I have the lowest Quadro in my tablet atm...wtg wacom )o)

@jaybee83 "Alienware - Attempting to prove science wrong with plastic since 2009."

I need something to take rage out on, but theres been a lack of stupidity on the forums ( which in itself is a good thing ) though I'm def gonna be tossing some heavy tech related debates at you guys in the near future for raw material.

Gonna drop hints to NBR/T|I in my comic eventually since its Sci-FI / tech. Got the idea for girls lockers from the nvidia Tesla racks. lol

    WIP atm
    [IMG]

And yes that means Wingnut will have upgrades next time I draw him in the next NBR strip...which I need something to go by or a heavy recent rant.

I'm really hoping Skylake-EX starts @ 4.0 and not super low due to the core increase... cuz if it does and the 24 core isn't far off I might just take a spin there.

That Eurocom up top is def sexy, and they're def built for heavy desert weather given I have to clean mine out once a month here.

@Meaker@Sager Talked to sager tech support today and flashed to the new bios which they said would work with the 7700K (eP87DM2.08g). Bios update installed fine. Installed new CPU and Laptop just continued to reboot. Tried with one ram stick with the same issue. Took off both GPU and CPU heat sync and checked contacts and to make sure no pins were bent and CPU was seated correctly. Everythink looked good so I rebooted with 1 stick of ram, no dice. Pulled CMOS battery tried to reboot and now computer will restart once and then once restarted it will continue to run but only a black screen and does not allow me to get into windows or get to the bios. Any additional drivers I should have installed before installing the chip? I will put the 6700K back in and install any additional drivers or updates needed but just did not want to waste time doing this if there was another trick to get it booted up.

@Prema How many hours do you put into a Bios like this to upgrade it? It has to be a boat load of work.

We worked 2 months to get it all working the way we wanted to for every possible hardware combination with a single firmware version.

Lot of sweat & blood in between...had to solder 15 wires to 0.1mm PINs in order to recover my bricked EC.

The base clock doesn't hold flat 100MHz. It usually is slightly above (100.12 or so) or less (99.98 or 99.88 or so). Prema mod makes it listen to what you set it to.

If you want to know what exactly in the BIOS does this, then Prema would have to answer that, sorry =D

I know, I just really enjoy hating on XTU because it used to cause boot problems for me on this model, making me have to use UEFI + fast boot (which forced secure boot here) unless I desired unplugging my PSU every time I wished to boot.

It's probably his settings and/or his BIOS

No no, I specifically mean THIS model, as in, my P370SM3. @Ethrem had the same bug on his P377SM-A, so it's common to the PxxxSM/PxxxSM-A models.

Gotta take those words to the heart!

Tho at this point I might as well use only one machine for every work - I have a 6.4: phone for when going outside and I might buy a cheap tablet if need be (Those are also about 300$ in Romania, but provide the advantage of a very good display, I would invest in one to watch movies / videos while on the go, or to work with large files)

Noticed this as a difference - curious if a system runs faster or better when this is engaged?

One thing I always wanted to ask. Why did no-one put a 1080 in a P750DM2, yet?
That it's not shipped that way doesn't mean that it won't work. ;)

The 1070 and 1080 have the same model right?

Theoretically if you mod it like the P775DM3 needs modding (thermal pads, paste, heatsink lapping, etc) to actually handle the 1080 it should work?

well I mean it'd fit, but cooling is a different story xD. I consider the P775DM3 as needing aftermarket elbow grease to handle 6700K/7700K & 1080. P750DM2 with a 1080 would be the same.

It cost a 100 dollars and you just need to be part of the industry. Wait to the last minute and it's 300 dollars. And the prices can get as high as 3000.00 dollars for all kinds of addon stuff.

Anyone in the industry need/want an attorney/send me with their group? I can practice in Cali! :) j/k (about someone needing an attorney, I am licensed there to practice and do corporate primarily/this is not a solicitation), although I would like to go to CES and the HWBot world overclocking events at some point...
