This looks so funny!
It is a sad bit that windows needs so much overwork to function correctly.
I also need to do most of these steps.

Too damn much power. First time I've ever seen a laptop need an AC to cool that stuff.
Meanwhile, tree-huggers like me are trying to eke out as much performance as we can with an ultra-efficient GTX 860M and a 120W power brick. That's... 1/10 of @Mr. Fox's quad-330W power supply? -
It actually does fine with dual 330W AC adapters. I only hooked it up like that just to verify the laptop didn't pull more power when given the opportunity to run wild and free, with no artificial flavors or preservatives.
Yeah, been doing the AC cooling trick for a long time now... works totally amazing for extreme overclocking and helps you replicate temps similar to what desktop users with liquid cooled systems are capable of in terms of thermal management. I picked up that nice habit from Brother @johnksss and so has Brother @Kpaxx. The nice side benefit is Mr. Fox has a pleasantly chilly, abnormally zesty and refreshing office when benching festivities are taking place. It's not as elegant as benching while surrounded by the splendor of the frozen arctic tundra, but it'll do in a pinch. -
Still waiting on validation but thought I'd leave this here

Mythlogic reached out to me to schedule BIOS update so I can finally get the latest and greatest PREMA MOD Bios for my P770DM-G! I was one of the first to purchase one of these so it shipped with a very early beta-version and I noticed alot of the options in the screenshots you guys have been posting were missing from my BIOS so I'm stoked to be up to date so I can start learning more about how to overclock/undervolt.

There is a Prema BIOS for the P770DM? didn't know that
-
Heck yeah! The whole reason I purchased my 770DM from one of his vendors
And thank you
@Phoenix for all your contributions to this thread as I've gleaned so much information from reading every page of this! I've never owned an unlocked processor before let alone a rig this strong so this is my first foray into overlocking/undervolting etc. but it's been an awesome journey just reading the posts as you guys compete and have fun and teach and learn, etc etc. NBR has been a great community since the first time I visited over a year ago when I first started researching notebooks and desktop replacements. Anyway, just wanted to take a moment to say thank you to all the people who make this community great and I don't want to leave out any names, but you guys/girls know who you are!!

I can see the newest driver from Nvidia give you lower Firestrike score than what you received with earlier driver. What the heck is Ngreedia doing with their drivers? Next driver from the Greens will maybe also decrease the Firestrike score with an extra 175 points. Dang

Even some older Windows 7 drivers will work on Windows 10 if you force the issue, but enabling SLI can be a challenge because W1ndoze OSX has so many malware processes running in the background. I ran my 344.75 and 345.20 mods with the M18xR2 on W1ndoze OSX for a long time after I got the LCD bricking mess sorted and they worked flawlessly, exactly as they do under the superior past versions of the once good OS. No throttling or stupid misbehavior problems like the newer digital genocide drivers released by the NVIDIOTS.

You are right but how the heck do you keep track of my scores??
do you have a folder saved on your computer that contains my benchmarks?
-
If you have the paid version of Futuremark benchmarks as they are submitted the results are there permanently with your user name attached to them unless you delete them. I upload the screen shots to the web and then post a link in the description field. You can even view them by benchmark title in your account. To see how they stack up against others with identical CPU, GPU, or both, just use the advanced search features. That makes it fairly easy to find benchmarks by specific users as long as they are using a registered version (not free version) when they upload the results because their name shows in the list.

Sorry I'm too late for the party. Brother @Mr. Fox was faster on the trigger

. I use 3dmark and Hwbot because of interest. And of course the paid versions of bench software because benching is my form for gaming

I remember when I had my first computer which had a Cyrix CPU @ 166 Mhz and an S3 POS graphics card, I used to play FIFA back then and was happy. I was 15 years old. Then the first time I saw that same game running on a machine with a Pentium Processor and a Voodoo 2 3D Accelerator (LOL), my jaw dropped from the realism of the graphics, nothing today makes me feel the same way even though the graphics are way better.
I wish 3DFX was still around so we won't all be nCrapia Slaves -
Quoted for truth, Brother @godfafa_kr - totally agree, man. I play games when I feel too tired and lazy to invest any effort in benching and want to just vegetate.Papusan likes this.

Let us know when you get it, and compare it against @Phoenix's screen shots.
My understanding is while the Myth BIOS is based off of Prema's BIOS it is *not* the same, full fledged BIOS, and there will be some missing options. Again, I'm not 100% on this so maybe someone more knowledgeable on the subject can comment.
Regardless, when you get it, pls let us know of your experience on what settings you can control, overall performance, etc.Last edited: Mar 29, 2016i_pk_pjers_i and Spartan@HIDevolution like this. -
I will definitely check it against all the screen shots. As far as being a "full fledged" version of Prema's BIOS I'm not sure how it could be anything but that. It's my understanding that he hasn't released anything outside of these Partner Shops so I think this is the only Prema BIOS that exists until it goes public. Of course Prema would be the ultimate authority on that. Either way I'm super stoked to be getting the most recent version as anything tied to Prema is computer gold

@Juang1985
Yeah I can go lower on the voltage offset and still be stable, I just kept it @ -80mV as the Silicon Lottery delidded CPU allows me to run at such a high voltage yet still be cool.
I can easily go to 4.5 GHz on -60mV as well but the fans spin up more than I like even during normal usage like opening programs, opening many tabs in the browser, etc. so I think 4.4 GHz is the sweet spot for an every day overclock that runs @ 4.4 GHz 24/7 -
It's my understanding for all BIOSs, there is a Prema 'base' which has some of the basics for Overclocking, but then the Prema Partners tailor make the final BIOS, adding images and deciding what final settings to allow. So one Prema partner's BIOS may not mirror another partner's BIOS for the same machine.
Also, it may be semantics, but when ppl say "Prema BIOS", I think of the Prema BIOS released to the public with all available options/settings. With that said, I also believe the P870DM, the BIOS used by @Phoenix and @Mr. Fox is also the one and the same - all options available.
In regards to other Prema partners, like Myth, I know I've read they dial things back in order to keep customers from shooting themselves in the foot. And since you're on the P770DM, well, that is another wrinkle, isn't it.
Again, I could be wrong on all of this, but I'm pretty sure this is all based on what I've read in these forums. I don't want to be posting any incorrect information, so if someone has info to the contrary, please let me know.
Besides, as mentioned in the previous post, once you have your Myth based BIOS, we'll have first hand information.Last edited: Mar 29, 2016Mr. Fox likes this. -

Well Mr. Fox, if this is something you're able to do maybe you could give me a hand to? My delidded 6700k will post at 4.9GHz I just can't quite get that extra bit. http://valid.x86.fr/pwipza. It needs around 1.5v but it can handle the temperatures so far even in the P770DM chassis.
I'm in the process of building a stripped down Win10 install to try avoid any undue Windows interference. If it works the way I'm hoping I may be able to share it as a benching OS.
Hell I'd be happy to donate a couple of beers for your time if the fun of it isn't enough.Georgel likes this. -

When I tried to post with 4.8 GHz @ 1.3V and ran AIDA64, It gave me a warning that benchmark was stopped due to hardware failure (because of extreme heat I think) and this was on a delidded Silicon Lottery CPU. ScaryGeorgel likes this. -

Actually is does help, but probably not as much with your cpu....They (350.12/344.75) seem to be better optimized for cpu performance and do nothing to change the behavior of the gpu.

Ok I got into the benching spirit and here my score: http://www.3dmark.com/fs/8053345
I've been trying to push my 970M more but basically Firestrike GPU 1 test almost completes and my computer hangs and sometimes beeps and I have to force restart.. I've given plenty of voltage to the GPU, not sure what is limiting it..
Also bit of a noob using NVIDIA Inspector, how is the power target set in it? Its blacked out for me and I can't adjust it... On Precision X, you were able to set it to 200% and only reason why I think my computer is hanging is because of the power target...
I have Prema vBIOS and Prema BIOS and a 330W PSU... God knows what else I need to get a high score
... Driver is 362.00 and works great for benching.. First stable one I've had since 344.75/350.12...
-
Don't use EVGA PX use Inspector and don't touch the power target it's disabled for a reason...
Here with [email protected] (other clocks same-ish as before):
http://www.3dmark.com/fs/8045976
And here with a little more OC:

It's getting a bit tough for the 120W PSU...Last edited: Mar 30, 2016 -
Soon top 5
What about the heat? Is this a problem? And you can probably fix a stronger PSU
