Nice score Fox. But I see you have skipped the last Windoze pastel colored Trash "Crematory Edition". Better scores or other reasons for this?

Yeah, looking for better scores and improved stability, and honestly, apart from that... I was also really getting sick of the kiddie-boy trash OS. Everything about it is kind of a pain in the ass, and going back to Enterprise seemed like the smart thing to do. If Fire Strike didn't need it to get better scores I would not be using Windows 10 at all. I'd say to hell with Time Spy and I'd buy a matching 960 Pro or BPX and just run Windows 7 in RAID 0 and totally forget about Windows 10. It has been a sucky piece of trash since day one and there is no indication it's ever going to get any better.
No, not really. It's not a lot lower. Within the margin of normal error, especially for the piece of trash 3DMark has become. Less than 1 FPS difference between the top 3 scores on the physics test. I did lower the memory from 3200 to 3000, so that may have had a tiny influence on it. I'm more inclined to believe it changed a little bit only because 3DMark is unstable and unreliable.

No, I was talking about Meaker's to mine.
    http://www.3dmark.com/compare/fs/12829662/fs/12606403#

We both had the same CPU speed, but his physics score was FAR lower, but he still beat me handily in combined test. I understand graphics test because my cards weren't clocked to anything special, but the combined score usually scales very badly and is CPU-heavy. That alone shows 3000MHz vs 2400MHz RAM is a huge difference, even though his CPU is acting much weaker than mine was.

LOL, sorry about that. I went to look and see what you were talking about and I just wasn't seeing it. Sorry for the confusion. I did not notice you quoted Meaker's post and only noticed it was immediately after mine.

Let me pull my head out.... *POP* ...there we go.

Either have @Meaker@Sager Screwed up Futuremark software - Windoze or a Hell lot running in the background. Both the run same day is strange.

His older physics scores in FS Ultra is better with lower [email protected] + this with the older screwed up 3DM GUI

Oh I noticed. I'm saying, since my score is a full 2fps higher, but I'm using older drivers, let's blame the reduced physics score on the newer drivers kekeke

I just fired it up, testing to see how it was working before getting everything updated. It was some quick and dirty runs lol so don't read too much into them.

Also the GPU power mods will mean my average GPU clocks will remain a bit higher than most.

Nice job! What did you do different that improved your results?

What drivers for W7 are you looking for? Most everything I am using is generic from Station-Drivers other than GeFarts drivers.

Run -> Crash -> Reinstall Windows -> Run -> Get decent score -> Create Windows Image -> Run -> Crash -> Reinstall Windows from Image (This last sequence about 8 times) :S

I was looking for Chipset/Touchpad/Audio/ME/TB3/Wireless/LAN and maybe the FingerPrint reader.

    Also -

Most of that stuff I get from Station-Drivers. Which WiFi, Killer or Intel? (I only have Killer drivers).

I can upload all this stuff tomorrow, but you can probably get it faster by downloading them directly. You can use the same audio drivers as Windows 10 (same package for 7/8/10).

No problem. Use this Fingerprint driver and install through Device Manager using the 'have disk' method (INF only).

No problem. I wish they had not added this to the DM3. I've always hated fingerprint readers. I'd love to get rid of it with a touchpad that doesn't have one.

I kinda need one, if i want to use my laptop at work. Plus this one is so much better than the one on the Dm1. So it was a welcome change. By no means close to the best ones out there.
My workplace has a Fingerprint reader + TPM requirement for personal laptops.

Yes, it is better than the DM-G fingerprint reader, and so is the touchpad.

@bloodhawk - I guess I am going to have to reinstall W10 again, too. Second time in less than a week. Macrium image is corrupted, so no easy way out. Now my activation limit for Office 2016 is used up, so I'll have to resort to the KMS hack for that to keep using it, just as I have needed to do with Office 2013 after the first 6 months of ownership.

It's almost not worth it any more dealing with the constant flow of feces from Micro$loth... pain in the ass. I cannot get any 3DMark benchmark to pass (Fire Strike, Time Spy) without crashing now. Tried reinstalling DX11 9.0c, multiple GeFarts drivers, Revo-uninstalling 3DMark, and tried old and new versions and nothing works, LOL. What a sucky piece of trash OS and benchmark.

Can't you call Microsoft? When I used up all my activations of Office 2013, I just called them and told them I installed it on 2 computers total on the automated thing and it gave me a product ID code for manual installation, which worked.

When you do firmware development or OCing which causes corruption and in return OS and other MS stuff to deactivate, then calling them on a 'daily' basis doesn't help anymore. ;)
Back then they blacklisted one of my genuine keys for good, even though it was an MSDN license, which was specially issued to developer...

Yeap i had a similar problem with Timespy. Though i use a separate install for benchmarking, i could no longer complete the TimeSpy Physics test without crashing @ 5.2Ghz, all other Physics / CPU based tests would clear without any issues. Only thing that would fix it would be a Windows reinstall and then it would work 4-5 times and start crashing again.

Well, maybe it depends on who you talk to and whether they care about their customers. I've tried twice and was told I would have to purchase a new license both times and they did not care that I do frequent OS reinstalls. They didn't care that I had proof of purchase directly from them. @Phoenix has been turned down as well.

With Office 2013 one was MSDN license and the other was retail, purchased through a program at work. Office 2016 same... one MSDN license and one retail purchased through the same program at work. I am just fed up with all of their endless bull-cah-cah nonsense. I should not have to call them. Software with a limited activation count sucks and so do the companies that implement activation limits. The facts that they have my name, email, a copy of my electronic invoice and my product key, which they have so graciously blacklisted, proves they are crooked bastards for not giving me unlimited activation limits or re-activating the limit whenever I ask them to do so. When a company treats verified paying customers like criminals you know they're just messed up.

At this point using KMS is more convenient than having to call and beg them to act like a stand-up operation. I know they don't like that, and I know KMS can be used inappropriately, but I am to the point with these clowns now that I honestly don't give a rat's ass what they like. They don't give a rat's ass what I like, so the sentiment is mutual. I purchased them, for the price they were asking, direct from the Redmond Mafia, so I'm satisfied I have done the right thing. I can sleep at night and look in the mirror knowing so. It's none of their business how many times I reinstall it on the same computer. But, I don't expect Micro$loth to do the right thing... ever. They're a sorry outfit that is wired to operate based on greed and control. Their latest abortion (Windows 10) is conclusive evidence of their dishonorable control freak modus operandi.

The Micro$loth smartphone activation app system works really excellent. It's a slick tool and I really like it... until they decide to blacklist your product key from too many reinstalls.

Why do they do that? Is it so you'll purchase another license?

No, when you call in for phone activation the system detects or asks if you are calling from a smartphone and offers to text you a link to use to activate the product. The steps are the same as using the phone but you don't have to listen to the automated instructions. If the activation fails the app offers to connect you to a person at Micro$loth for live assistance and dials the number automatically for you if you do.

I got it. Not that it should matter. If it's paid for you SHOULD be able to remove and reinstall as many times as necessary.

Yes, you should, but they are paranoid and greed-driven control freaks and that is not how they roll. It would be interesting to know how many suckers have been conned into paying for the same product more than once by these swindlers.

by perfect fit I don't mean the thermal pads, I mean the contact surface itself

I measure pressure on the die w/ presacle film without the thermal pads (dry run)

Sorry for going way off topic, but do you guys have a link to SAFE KMS tools for stuff like Office and windows? (even though I'm using Enterprise that I bought and OF2013 that I also bought (for $10 from that old hotmail promo that lasted a week). The only KMS links I could find were those unsafe virus links. Would be appreciated. Thank you.
