As with most purists, you forget that here is no #1 without there being a #2

If there were no BGA the LGA would have nothing to crap on. :D :p

The Graphics Scores do seem to indicate that #2 CPU's can drive #1 GPU's without needing #1 CPU's... ;)

Those are very true statement. Holding #2 spot isn't so bad... I'm used to being in the top 10 but always in the shadow of my sensei (as it should be) Brother @johnksss. Being #2 is only bad if you take the Ricky Bobby view, "if you're not first, you're last" and then it really sucks to be #2. I don't agree with Ricky on that.

The Asus looks like the GPU core was clocked a lot higher and I was dealing with some real temp challenges trying to use 980M heat sinks.

@bloodhawk @Mr. Fox I have problem to take out the CMOS battery. My nailes is to short. Any other tool I can use? Tried other ram settings :p

Edit: Fixed. Time for new ram maybe :p? Or try furter with other timings? :D Damn OEM ram!! Damn that I live in this place. Nothing to buy of any proper hardware :(
Dellienware has something to learn when it comes reset of the NVRAM. Has not forgotten this **** on my AW17 "Elitist". You had to be a magician for reset of the bios. Even worse than AW18.

How long did you wait? It's normal to take some time after removing and reseating the CPU.

What TIM did you use? And what method did you use to delid?

I used a razor blade. Is it possible i placed too much clu? Some spilled over the outsides but i immediately cleaned it all up.

Spilled over the die to the pcb or did it get past the pcb onto the socket (unlikely i know but had to ask)? After or before you seated the cpu on the socket? CLU just between the die and ihs? Or also between the ihs and heatsink? Just remember that when using CLU you have to paint both contact surfaces (die and bottom of ihs) so that CLU properly bonds with them. Also, remove all the silicon glue.

Check if you didn´t accidentally bent the cpu pcb (Skylake is thinner than Haswell) although this is more probable to happen with the vice method. Also, clean the cpu contacts with isopropyl alcohol, and check if there´s nothing on the socket pins and that they´re all straight.

PS: are there any scratches on the pcb?

Ill send you pics as soon as i get home. I only placed clu on the inside of the ihs and tiny shiny thing. I used icd on the outside. Its possible i bent it too i am not sure. In that case is it gone? I already called local sellers of 6700k and its around 17500 in my local currency

In some cases it took up to five minutes until the BIOS recognized the CPU. It shouldn't hurt to wait a lil'bit longer!

@jpsm Have you OC'd cpu in the beginning? Maybe a unstable OC, and you need to reset NVRAM.

you can just unclip the battery itself, it's held in place by some metal prongs. just be carefull, the plastic holding it can break if you use too much force.

Even if the wire you talk about comes from the battery its too easy to break those wires, thats why they have glue. Its a lot easier to just remove the battery.

The other name for it is the CMOS battery. And no, that plug, unlike prior notebook version s, it's not the power for it. Note how what is plugging in there is not a covered battery. To remove the battery, lightly push the battery from the right to the left. Lift the battery up on the right side and release the pressure against the spring on the left side. The CPU and you should be closer to you for laptop orientation. That plug is the speaker, I believe (have to double check). For future reference, ALWAYS SET THE BIOS TO STOCK IF ANY CHANCE OF NOT RECOGNIZING IS PRESENT. Not a guarantee, but may help.

i know it's a dumb question, but you did match the cpu-edge with the triangle accordingly to the socket right? sorry, just checking :)

edit: also, when you took out the cpu, did you unplug the battery first and power drained the system?

hmm, if you got (probably not) any other cpu that you can test that's about the last thing on my side that comes to my mind, except if you have the same socket in a desktop, where you could check if this cpu won't boot in the desktop as well.

Yeap its a really bad idea to work with the battery in....
I just check the white cable seems to be the sub-woofer connector. The battery is soldered to the mbo, no cables.

Well if it was a problem with the OC values a reset like that should have fixed it, unless something is broken, if you had more hardware you could just try it out, with another cpu another ram stick, etc.
Without additional hardware it´s going to be hard to know what´s going on.

you can try to put it in a different slot (ram). but remove bat. and power drain the system first ;-)

even though i assume it must be a damaged cpu. but yeah, hard to tell with any other cpu or system to check.
