I want to replace the my screen with a matte (I believe this is it Amazon.com: AU OPTRONICS B116XW03 V.0 SIDE BRACKETS LAPTOP LCD SCREEN 11.6" WXGA HD LED (SUBSTITUTE REPLACEMENT LCD SCREEN ONLY. NOT A LAPTOP ) (WILL NOT WORK FOR V.2): Computers & Accessories but not sure).
Any tutorial or tips I could use?

I assume you know of this: http://forum.notebookreview.com/sag...np6110-clevo-w110er-first-look-review-51.html
-
can u play low settings far cry 3 ? what are the fps
-
EDIT: Wrong thread my bad haha
-
you can actually go higher than that due to the low resolution the machine uses, actually if you even OC you might go further than that
-
what are you guy's thoughts on using batteries from other laptops with perhaps a higher capacity in this laptop? I wonder if the battery sizes match up at all, but I don't have a bunch of different laptop batteries lying around with which to try this out. Any thoughts?
-
Laptop batteries aren't usually interchangeable so unless Clevo or some third party makes a higher capacity battery, it's not going to happen.
-
according to here, the 110er has a backlit keyboard, while your review states that there is not one. is the above info for a newer version, or does the guide need correcting?
-
needs an update, check clevo's own specs (link in your guide)
-
Does anybody know the dimensions of the 90 watt and 120 watt adapters? Is there a significant difference in size?
-
Nevermind. I found it. I just needed to search through the thread.

So I might have found a screen compatible with our laptops.
ASUS Zenbook Prime UX21A-K1009X has a 11.6" WUXGA non-glare LED TFT (IPS) (1920x1080)
If we can find the replacement parts for this zenbook, we might just be able to retrofit the screen into our laptops. Should be easy considering it is just an ASUS.
Macbooks be a different story though... Now where to find... -
Won't work. W110ER has single channel LVDS which means 1366x768 max.
-
Well 1366x768, that will be fine as long as it is an IPS screen? will be better quality then the original no?
-
No I mean the LCD won't work regardless of what resolution you use it at, it doesn't have enough leads to even run the LCD. You may see only every other line of pixels if it even powers up because it's lacking all the connections it needs. Even a lower resolution it still has to power all 1920x1080 pixels.
-
is there another kind of LCD we can source out that is iPS for our laptops?
I don't mind if it is around $100... The current one is pretty bad for photo editing. I can't really get an accurate finished photo unless I look at it in my cellphone. Xperia Z. -
No unfortunately. There's the glossy one and the matte one and both are low gamut TN panels. Trust me, many users here (including Clevo builder Mythlogic) have looked for alternate panels and come up short. I'm hoping the 13" version will have better options.
-
I will check it out here in China and ask local sources to see if there's a replacement for the w110er. I will not stop! lol
-
Speaking of the 13 inch.. any info on the web about it?
-
Will this laptop play ArmA II & III with decent frame rates and image quality?
-
Someone put a 12.1" screen in there, they come in compatible IPS flavor, too.
-
Nice mod Prema!
-
I just wish he gave more information about why he had to redo the LVDS cable and what he had to repace to fit the larger screen in. (it looks like he replaced the entire lid assembly but maybe just the front?)
Its great to know its possible but frustrating to not know the whys and hows in more detail. -
Too much work... Is there an easier way!
-
I'm loving my external 1080P monitor that works with ALL my laptops. It's a copout, but for $130 and a HDTV, I'll pass on the IPS flavors for now. Most of the Chinese sites are a joke, no info and must purchase in lots of greater than 1.

can i turn off the dedicated gpu (680m sli) and switch to hd4000 integrated gpu when i want to save some battery manually?
im planning to buy sager np9370 3D -
Yes, right click on app and you will see the part about selecting the GPU and setting the default. Sometime this does not work correctly as in using a utility like HWMonitor and wanting a specific GPU to run. You can find work arounds after you settle in with your new laptop. Someone smarter may have found the surefire method of always getting optimus to be100% obedient.
Opps, sounds like I miss read that post...nm! -
Nope, np9370 3D doesn't have the HD4000 wired...
-
but i think i can turn off sli and switch to single gpu ?
-
and would u guys recommend changing the stock thermal paste ? are the temps with sli normal ?
can i set up msata ssd later for intel srt i won't be buying one now ...but maybe later
and what card would u recommend intel6235 or killer1202 are there any issues with 6235 and is there much of a performance difference ? (pings) ?
and how's the 3d performance of the np9370...i cant find any benchmarks with 3d on sli -
Maybe you should ask that in the NP9370 thread:
http://forum.notebookreview.com/sag...vo-p370em-sager-np9370-owners-lounge-136.html
I have both the Intel6235 and Killer1202. They are both just doing there job well, but the Killer has better priority management through their software, So when I tether my Phone's Internet connection it easily let's me decide which Software in Windows are allowed to use it and simply block out the rest to minimize traffic.
Also when I traveled through Europe I could pick up more networks with the Killer...the only feature that really I miss in the Killer is that the Intel let's you pick up the Internet from a Router and then pass that on by creating its own Hot-Spot. -
Just added my one year update here: http://forum.notebookreview.com/sag...dual-core-vs-quad-core-gaming-benchmarks.html

So, has anyone switched to a matte screen? I'm sending mine to sager to have the screen swapped due to a discoloration (they won't honor under warranty, claiming impact damage *rolls eyes*), so now would be my last chance to buy a matte screen. I can't find any on amazon or ebay. No way am I spending $150--my LCD swap is projected to be less than $80.
So far, these look like they have potential (both check out on resellerratings):
Clevo W110ER Notebook Display Replacement | LAPTOP & TABLET LCD SCREEN FROM $34.99.$59+$15 fedex/ups ground shipping
https://www.laptopscreen.com/English/model/Sager/NP6110/$57 + $10 USPS Priority shipping
Any comments, suggestions? The pricing almost seems too good. I have to wonder if they're actually compatible--I haven't found much info on the web about people actually swapping their np6110 screens... -
They call out the specific model so it's probably a safe bet. Pricing makes sense, the model has been out a year, and I bought mine just at launch so the price was a lot higher. It's not difficult to swap out, I just was stupid and trying to make a monitor fit that wouldn't fit.
-
Where would I go post to if I wanted to sell my w110er? Working perfectly, pretty high spec? Don't wanna spam this thread haha!
-
eBay, Craigslist, or go here: NBR Marketplace
-
has anyone fit a 1080p screen or higher in this?
Thanks -
Does anyone know that to do ?
Two keys of my W110er keyboard the , and - do not work on first click - I have to hit them with force.
Is it possible to remove/clean only that keys or do I have to replace the whole keyboard?
I would need a german keyboard layout QWERTZ.
Thanks for any advice.

How do the buttons feel? If the domes are going a replacement keyboard is the only thing that would help.
