How do you know it's not the original BIOS?
Another interesting thing...check the video memory ammount the VMT writes under Vista (VMT doesn't recognise the VGA in safe mode) on 2 different drivers:

There is only one released BIOS version for the MXM 2.1 GTX 280M's. All of us M570TU users that have the GTX 280M have the same BIOS that was released in January.
-
i know that is not the original because the clocks and voltage is changed. i have a backup of my original vbios but i dont really know how to identify a original vbios
-

Use common sense, jupapri.
-
common sense is the less est common of the senses Ss lol. i just don't know how to identify lol

My god. Sometimes I wonder why some people even have Clevo's. This is how I save my many BIOS files. For my GTX 280M files, I make a folder called GPU BIOS\GTX 280M\M570TU\Original\MMDDYY. I would name my original BIOS 060A.bin and a second copy called 060A.rom. Any modded copies that I make would go into GPU BIOS\GTX 280M\M570TU\Test\MMDDYY. Modded copies would have either the suffix "X" to denote that it is experimental, or "P" to denote that it is the primary BIOS I currently have flashed. The filenames would be called 060AX1.rom, 060AX2, 060AX3.rom, and so on depending on how many iterations I create. However, there would only be one 060AP.rom.
My GPU BIOS folder is structured like this so that it is kept neat and easily accessible without confusion of which BIOS is the original. For most users, they can come up with a simpler way for setting up a "system" that works, but for me, I have collected dozens and dozens of GPU BIOS over the years, all the way back to the 6 series to now, and both desktop and mobile versions, so I have no choice but to keep it clean. -
Ss. i understand that but i think that Drevan was talking about the installed vBios i know that you change the name of the file but for example if you take my notebook and flash it. how i would realize that the Vbios is different.
By the way. i love your sarcasms lol -

You wouldn't be able to tell since the modded BIOS came from the original BIOS. You as a human being must keep track of what BIOS you have flashed at all times.

if you are running that test on windows 7 x64 i would think again on the reliability of those results. if your gpu doesn't have bad symptoms like colors interlaced and bsod every time you start a 3D application don't worry
-
But I still don't understand why isn't VMT work properly for some of us ... -
Soviet Sunrise Notebook Prophet
What we are looking for are errors. It's okay if our cards cannot run unsupported tests on VMT.
-
i use the 186.91 is very stable and the carddriver didn´t crach while overclocking. -
-
had the same problem with 191.xx , now i use for nVidia and no probs.
is your 187.62 fo x64, if so could u upload, i´m interested to test onmy system
thx -
This, after sending to Sager and having them try to fix it. They claimed they replaced the VGA card, which I'm sure is the same as the gpu. -
Helps a lot in avoiding situations like these. -
is somebody run that test without errors on windows 7 x64 and drivers 18x.xx and 190.xx?????
-
my clevo is build end October 08 with 3.0B -
I decide to re do the test with new drivers. I uninstalled all NV drivers (179 something), rebooted, ran driver sweeper, rebooted, and installed 185.85, rebooted and then ran the test again. Here are the results.

Could some1 please check how much mb of video ram does the Vantage System Info exactly write for his 280M?
-
btw, I found this comment from the author of VMT (don't know the date of posting): "There is some problems with nvidia drivers above 182.50 version. I have no time and hardware to debug this problem. If somebody can, welcome to sourceforge!"
So that's that. -
Soviet Sunrise Notebook Prophet
Very interesting. However, we do still have the ability to diagnose our GPU memory using 179, 180, and lower 182 drivers.
-
Just saw the link you posted a few pages back. it doesn't seem to work anymore...
Can you please tell me where to download this test?
I really need to test my GPU memory I think something is broken.
Thanks. -
Can't we just use.... you know OCCTP ?
-

-
btw, 187.62 only gives Test fail and not supported messages (0 errors) during DirectX test, Cuda test works perfectly
-

That's because some of the 179, 180, and 182 drivers are junk.

Sorry to bump this up, but is there any shops still selling this laptop? Wanted to get a good deal.
-
Soviet Sunrise Notebook Prophet
This notebook has been discontinued for quite a while now and all the remaining units have been shelved as spare parts for current M570TU users.
-
Not quite. There a shop here in Portugal that is still selling it and the RU version. But the TU costs 2000 lol i could get it down to 1750 +/-
Still way expensive for a discontinued laptop. -
Soviet Sunrise Notebook Prophet
Shops are technically not allowed to continue selling a notebook after it has been discontinued by the ODM, Clevo. Shops that do continue to sell it wish to make a pretty penny off of the remaining units by juking up the price. Some irresponsible shops such as Clevo.fr does this.
-
Did not know that. Thankz. Better avoid those then.
-
Soviet Sunrise Notebook Prophet
Be wary of buying a notebook that is about to discontinue on an EOL architecture too. I know users that received ES X9100's in their notebooks when they paid the full price for an OEM X9100. Clevo makes exceptional notebooks, but unfortunately there are quite a few sellers that want to take advantage of the name and the product.

M570RU-U still for sale. -
Soviet Sunrise Notebook Prophet
The seller "ocztechnology" is not an Clevo authorized reseller. But that is a good price for that notebook. They must have obtained the remaining notebooks for a good price from someone else.
-
They told me that they bought them for a project, and it didn't work out. I smelt BS tho. I think they picked them up cheap in bulk as they are not TU's and are out of warranty.
-
there are a lot of noname ressellers who try to make money with older clevo bearbone systems like this one in Austria.

I searched the board, but did not find a 'good' answer. Does the V3.0B motherboard support Quads? I saw V3.0B-1 boards that do, but the little sticker on mine says V3.0B (under the first RAM module)
Some say it does some say it doesn't :S
Pic:
-
I forgot which motherboard revision # would have quad-core support.
Contact your Clevo vendor for confirmation. -
I think mine says v3.0b too...and I have a quad in it.
Im not 100% sure though. I'll check next time I clean my laptop. -
My np5796 has '08 Sept build date with 3.0B motherboard...some1 say it supports Quad core and some1 say it doesn't...would be nice to finally clear it up -
..
Maybe it's possible to tell the difference of quad-nonquad with the serial number? Mine has 570TU in the serial number located on the bottom of this sticker. It also says M570 on top.
Does someone with a quadcore has these 570TU in it too, or do all quad supporting laptops have the 571 sticker/serial number?? -
And is it possible to put a 280M from a M980NU in the M570TU?
-
-
