I know my laptop would freeze up as soon as it was unplugged because of the video drivers. Try the latest official nvidia drivers and make sure you pick the notebook ones and correct OS in the pull down menu.

    Hello Guys,

My service provider insists on my graphical card problem is about driver. They say that official nvidia drivers cause problems and my computer freezes. They downgrade driver, first 3-4 hours computer worked good then again started to give error ''nv4_disp.dll ''

Isn't it funny what they said about drivers or is it true? anyone suffers from this problem?

No, it's not. They just don't want to give you the warranty.

They also insist that I don't have hardware problem!!! In my country, if a computer, tv, etc goes to technical service for 3 or 4 times with same problem, they take the computer back. Or do you have any idea? Maybe something more international? or from clevo?

There are some service centres listed on Clevo's website. But I would advise you to do a clean install and install standard drivers and if that fails... it's hardware fault without doubt.

Do you think that it may happen because of windows xp? I am thinking to pass vista or seven to test it.

    its very simple to do.

and you can get any mini-PCIe wifi card for this system, its the standard slot for notebooks.

if you want the notebook's service manual, go take a look at theriko's signature.

I'm still trying to decide on selling my 9800gt. I don't really need to get rid of it since it serves me very well, but I might depart with it for $350.00 (US). Otherwise, I don't feel it's worth switching.

    Hello
I was wondering if someone could tell me how to find out if I got a M570TU or a M570TU ETU motherboard. As i'm pretty sure that i read M570TU ETU when i last took my laptop apart, but i was wondering if there is a easier way than taking the whole thing apart again.
    Thank you

The way I can tell my mobo is by looking at my paid receipt. The ETU came out just after mine.

Freedom, I have Win 7 and have no problems at all.
My only problem was faulty ram sticks when I tried going from 2GB to 4GB. I have gone back to 2GB and I'm good now.

The only way to know for sure is to take the back plate off and look at the version number on the ram slots.

Does anyone know where I can get a new battery for this laptop in UK or EU?
I've been looking over ebay and there is nothing there.

Well, looks like I will be using a quad after all, although it does drill a hole in my battery life.

But I've managed to get my hands on a QX9300 OEM for less than 400 USD :D. I couldn't say no to that.

    Do tell.
A quad core and 280m and you're all set.
I don't find the new stuff enticing enough to buy a whole new system.

The best card you can put in the M570TU is the 280M MXM 2.1 . There will never be anything better than this... except maybe for the Ati Mobility 4870... if anyone can get one.

Is there a possibility for ATI to make a 2.1 besides 4870?

None. 2.1 is officially an outdated standard since autumn 2009.

The bottom line is that this notebook is EOL with the GTX 280M. The GTX 285M does not exist in MXM 2.1.

The connector is identical. The best thermal paste is properly applied thermal paste.

Ok i have it now, well aero won't work no matter what i am using, i am using the desktop drivers, like usually, i keep trying to change the desktop service but no aero. I have to say this is like the most advanced machine for it being a year old! The speakers sound amazing and this is with my headphones without the audio driver, hopefuly srs premium. there seems to be no difference from the npNP5797 or the 96. I want to know how to use the atk drivers i can't find it from the sager site. So i can control the fan temps and etc...

If you are in US, call RJtech or Sager and ask for pricing on different parts, they will help you out.

    Howdy folks!

Just wanted to poke my head in this thread since I just picked up a NP5797 for $820 on ebay!

    Here are the specs:
    Intel Core2Duo P9500 @ 2.53 Ghz
    4GB Memory RAM
    200 GB Hard Drive
    17" WUXGA Display @ 1920x1200
1024 MB Nvidia 9800M GTX Video Card
Built-in Intel® High Definition Audio with SRS WOW Surround Sound
    7-in-1 Card Reader
    Built-in Gigabit Ethernet LAN
    Bluetooth™ V2.0 + EDR module
    Intel® 5300AGN 802.11a/b/g/n wireless LAN
    Built-in 2.0M Digital Video Camera
    Fingerprint Recognition Software
    Windows 7 Home Premium Edition

Is there anything I need to do get the maximum performance out of this laptop? I had to follow Gophn's thread ( http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=60416) when I first got my NP5760 so I was wondering if I need to do anything like that for this one (even though I know I'm not using XP anymore)

I've already got a 7k500 Hitachi Travelstar ready to go in but I'm waiting to get Windows 7 Professional first (I don't have the Windows 7 Home Edition disk). I plan on getting the Q9200es CPU for the laptop, but do I need to check the motherboard for a certain serial number or something to tell if it would be compatible with my specific laptop? Also, what would be the fastest RAM to upgrade my stock RAM to? Also, how do I activate or confirm that the Intel Turbo memory is enabled? Is there a secret TURBO Fan function on this laptop like I had on my NP5760? I liked that feature a lot for gaming (although I do have my laptop on a Zalman NC2000) And lastly, how does my video card stand up to the competition? :p

    Thanks!

    Brian
