I've run 8 and 8 pro since late Dec. No performance diff to speak of. Hyper-V and Bitlocker are useful features for myself. Media Center is available free with pro.

    Hi guys,
My P150EM is gonna arrive next week or so.

I want to ask about the audio output quality issue. I know that people had been complaining about it when they use earphones/headphones, but how about 2.1 speaker?

I won't be using my speaker at home until a month after I receive my laptop, and so if there is indeed a not so good audio performance, I would go grab a USB sound card at where I am right now

    Thanks!

It depends on who you ask but most people agree at most they are average speakers, nothing special. Since you can buy a USB sound card at anytime the best thing would be to get the computer, test out the sound, and see if you're satisfied with the sound per your use. If not then consider getting a new USB card.

The Xonar U3 does the job pretty well for me.
It's not that large and the output is quite good.

When I had the P150EM I went with a soundblaster recon as it has hardware sound acceleration rather than using your CPU.

the xonar one mentioned is good. the other alternative is sound blaster x-fi go pro
Amazon.com: Creative Soundblaster X-Fi Go! Pro USB Audio System with THX SB1290: Electronics

i got the older version of it (non pro) only because it was $20 with free shipping during the holidays. either way, i am not disappointed with the device. i can actually hear some bass in my audio now! and apparently the non-pro version is better for some reason.

but read some reviews as what i've gathered the xonar is better for movies and music whereas the x-fi is better for gaming. but both are good

Since I had issues with the original keyboard, I requested eurocom to send a steelseries as a replacement.
They were kind enough to agree and it's wonderful! I love it so far.
The only problem now is how to remap the fn keys?

I know that many people have issues with that on several laptops since the OS doesn't recognize the fn keys.
Anyone knows what to do? It's not THAT big of a deal, not even considering going back to the old keyboard but could be nice to map the keys to the steelseries layout.

I was thinking of picking one of these up, how much better is the 680m than the 675MX, because I am on a budget around 1600-1700, if I have to, I can cut some other things to get the 680m, but only if it is significantly better. Also how many monitors can the 675MX/680m push without using the laptop display.

    Thanks!

Get the Special Edition model if you're going for the 680m. I have one & it rocks.

At this time there is no way to remap the F keys. Steelseries did say they were going to replease software at the end of last year to allow doing so but we havent seen that yet.

it might be bios related and not a keyboard issue since even after the switch, the old fn shortcuts still work which means that it's not keyboard related and more of a computer/hardware issue.
Sager seemed to offer the keyboard as an upgrade and I assume they mapped the fn keys so it must be something to do with the bios.
I wish I had some lead on how it's done.

Many resellers including us did offer the Steelseries keyboard for a while. The Fn keys do work but mapped differently. There is no way currently to remap them, you can review this thread thats specifically about Steelseries on Sager/Clevo http://forum.notebookreview.com/sag...s-chiclet-backlit-keyboard-p150em-p170em.html theres no solution....yet :(

I ordered my first clevo laptop a week ago and now waiting for the dispatched email. If I didn't work I'd just be home refreshing my emails every 5 seconds.

Is it just me or does everyone who posts here get the 680m or 7970m? I got the 670mx and feel left out :p

I have the 670mx and I'm very pleased.
I play mostly dota, path of exile, planetside 2 and since I quite dislike playing with AA the 670mx is more than enough.
If I do need some extra power I just OC it, It overclocks really well.

Does anyone know how much power the 150em takes while using the HD4000?
I want a smaller PSU to carry on a daily basis. The 1kg 130w is quite hefty for when I simply need enough power to program or study.

*exits the P150EM owner's club to canned "aaaw"s*
Found an extra grand and a half kicking around, so I'm ordering a P370EM with dual 680Ms instead (cancelling my P150EM order) oh and that 15" clevo ultrabook-alike, idk what it's called but there's no owner's club yet as Sager don't stock it. 1080p IPS display as default, you guys might know the one I mean.

I was wondering why I'm getting below 25-30fps on Assassin's Creed 3 @Boston even overclocked 950/1400 at the lowest settings in 1600x900p 60hz.
    Anyone else having this problem?
Also BF3 crashes alot. "Battlefield 3.exe has stopped working" almost 80% when I try to join a server.

Heaps of people have reported problems with AC3 and the 7970. Try updating amd catalyst to 13.1, or even 13.3 beta if you are feeling brave. Will probably fix bf3 and might help ac3 but won't fix it from what I understand.

Look at the the amd driver threads for more info

Updating your drivers could really help with you FPS, consider updating them to 13.1 AMD Graphics Drivers & Software
Thats probably not the reason for the BF3 crashes but if it happens to solve that too consider it a bonus.

I'm confused..why do the Fn keys need remapped? They all seem pretty consistent with every other laptop i've used.

Also how in the world do i get a signature? I emailed Notebookreview and it's been 2 weeks and no one has replied to me.

You only need to remap the Steelseries keyboards when put on a Sager computer. Their functions are different. For example if you push F6 which on the Steelseries it shows a webcam, it will actually turn the volume up since thats what the standard keyboard does.

You should be able to edit your sig now, you need 5 posts before you can and i see you're at 7 now.

So basically, its just a "picture on the keyboard" issue.... and if you have ... lets say.... a PHYSICAL listing of what the FN keys SHOULD be with the stock keyboard, those will work the same?
if that is the issue, where they're just labeled differently from the stock -- then it really shouldnt matter, as long as you learn the actual stock fn+<key> shortcuts?

Technically you're right. I'm already using the functions I remember from the old keyboard layout but I would prefer having the same mapping as on the steelseries keyboard both for the visual assurance that you're clicking the right button (fn-f3 to mute, fn-f4 to sleep. I got them mixed up quite a bit before I learned the lesson) and since the mapping on the steelseries is far better than the one on the original keyboard.
Shame that none of the programs I tried could recognize the fn button. U__U

The best guide I could find was this:
Mystery of the Fn key - A guide to remapping the Fn key in Windows

For some reason it doesn't work on win8.
    Oh well...

Yes, the controller sees an Fn+key command, it then translates that into a command so you have to change what it expects, otherwise it is just pictures on the keyboard.

Pictures on the keyboard is exactly right. It's like if you took the regular keys, took the "T" key and drew a "B" there, when you push it it will register a"T".

You COULD do that, but they are not the easiest things in the world to work with and would have to be specially made for those swapping and MSI still have that exclusivity contract.

I tried 13.1 and I got this message:

I tried installing it both with and without the 12.1 Catalyst but failed.

    This worked for me:

    Install this first:

Hey, fellas. Did anyone experience a weird clicking problem on p150em model with 680m when you actually open application that forces to use tye GPU? E.g. msi afterburner, hwmonitor, nvidia inspector etc.. When you start them the clicking can be heard like in the middle under the kb and when you try to drag your mouse over the desktop it glitches every time there's a click noise.

You close the program the problem is gone. What is also weird is that launching the game or 3dmark causes no issues at all.

    Thx

Does anyone else have issues with their wireless connection? I have a Bigfoot Networks Killer Wireless-N 1202 + Bluetooth 4.0 (Dual Band), and I'm constantly dropping my connection. However, the Qualcomm Atheros Network manager reports no loss of connection. Other computers in my house can connect fine wirelessly, and I am still able to connect via ethernet.

Another related question is if I can safely remove the Qualcomm Atheros Network Manager from my computer, as it just takes up space and I never use it.

    Thanks in advance.

I have an Intel 6235 wireless card. A couple of weeks back I posted a similar issue in regards to drop outs.

Since I re-installed the driver, it hasn't dropped once. So give that a try!

I tried to reinstall my drivers, so I went to Sager's website to get the latest version, but I could only find the Bigfoot Networks Killer Wireless-N Wireless LAN Driver for Windows 7 32/64 BIT, but I don't have problems with my LAN connection. I tried it anyway, but it wouldn't install because it says I already have a version installed, and to select "uninstall/change" from the "remove a program" window. However, it doesn't show up there.

Can anyone point me towards a place where I can download the necessary drivers? I still have to original install CD, but I'm pretty sure the drivers on there are old.

    Thanks.

EDIT: Never mind, I found them under the support tab of the Killer Gaming website

Well, I originally ordered my laptop and 4TB external on January 8th and on the same day my 4tb external was shipped, but my laptop was not shipped until the 22nd. No problem, it was expected. Today I received my 4tb external and I'm beginning to transfer all of my stuff from my MSI over to it to be ready for when my laptop gets here. Hopefully it'll come within the next week or so. From what I hear the Iraqi's aren't in a very big hurry to process things so mail here sometimes takes weeks upon weeks to get through. Unfortunately since the military is almost completely gone from Iraq the Department of State head's all operations here now and all of our mail has to go through Iraq customs which is what is making the delivery so lengthy. Hopefully I'll be in receipt of my laptop soon!
