You need the matching BIOS, too. Do you have the option in BIOS, which tells you that it is not present?

I was hoping now that the new gpus are out that Sager would be able to sell me another 7970m for cheap, but of course got the reply that they are no longer available. Really?! No old ones lying around? :p

They actually sold out and were removed as an option a few weeks before the last models were replaced.

    Hello there.
Excuse my noobish question but is there any place where I can download official bios updates for the NP9370?
I've tried CLEVO - Download and custom gaming laptops - Welcome to Sager Notebooks but haven't found any.
I've been having trouble with NVidia's last set of drivers (320.18 and 320.49) and I read somewhere it might be a bios problem which should be fixed by Clevo.
    Thanks in advance

I believe we're waiting for vbios update for the 680m.. I don't believe its been released yet. I asked my vendor to contact Clevo to see if anything is forthcoming... [if you do get an update or get it working, PLEASE report back!]

Does gtx 680m SLI gives you 8gb vram?

The setup physically has 8gb total of vRAM but the SLI setup at this time can only access one cards worth of that total, so 4gb. Not sure if this is a coding limitation, but it's very likely you have no need for more than 2-3gb let alone 4gb.

Ken form Gentech PC asked Sager for a new bios (I have 1.02.05aLS1 and EC 1.02.08SA2) and they replied I already have the latest and there was no need to update vBios.
So I guess we'll be waiting for the next driver release from NVidia.

Each card holds an identical copy of data, that way if one makes a change to a stored value, the other gets updated and is aware of the change.

If they were not the same the current frame may not have the changes of the previous frame applied to it and the whole thing would look pretty trippy.

When I played Max Payne 3, it says I have 8gb vram. I guess some games support it then? I might have to double check it because I also have 8gb RAM.I'm not sure if the game is confused or not. l

The same has been reported by numbers of people. NVidia already stated officially that we need a new vbios.

If Clevo doesn't supply one, we're hosed at this point...

This video is how to do it on a P170EM but the 370EM will be pretty identical. The first part where he like magic pulls off that trim, you'll find tiny slots that you can stick a flat object in. Those are clips and should be unfastened one at a time while you pull that part up otherwise you could snap them.

I had the same blank screen issue with those drivers, but the Nvidia beta driver 326.19 work for me with SLI. We are good to go, and no BIOS update is needed.

It has been a while since I posted. It's also been a while since I bought this laptop.

But I'm just now using it for the first time.

I mean, I love the hell out of it and I've been using it daily, but today I finally got in the mSATA drive I wanted and already have it up and running as a cache for my primary HDD... man oh man, this thing flies. I'm presently working on getting it to let me use the mSATA as both a cache and a boot drive, which I'm sure is possible, provided I jump through enough hoops. Hopefully I'll have it working soon ^_^

Yep. It's already setup and operational. All I've got to do it force feed it a Windows install on the empty space now. Trying to do it in UEFI/GPT, which is giving me a fit with the FAT32 file size limitations, but I'll probably be done in a while.

    Edit:

SUCCESS!... mostly. It was EXTREMELY problematic trying to get Windows 7 to install via UEFI to a GPI partition. It was moderately difficult to even get it to install in that setup, but even after I did I just kept getting blue screens. No idea why, but eventually I'll be less lazy and work it out.

Stepped it down a notch and ran a typical setup through BIOS, and viola, SSD is presently functioning as both my boot and cache drive.

The speed on this thing now is utterly amazing. Havn't even got to try out any games with the setup yet. Gonna have to get everything re-installed over the next few hours, and tomorrow I'll probably be back to gush again :)

About to pull the trigger on the LG 120Hz panel for my P370EM. Would anyone happen to have the part number for the 50-pin eDP cable? My Google-fu hasn't been able to find anything solid.

For those of you who can were deciding between 670MX sli or a single 680M please take a look at this score and decide. The 670MX is exactly the same as the 770M but a lot less expensive. :) 1050_1150_1025V_3dmark11.jpg

    Hi all,

Could someone provide me with a link to a guide for cleaning the fans on an XMG P722 (Clevo P370EM.) The fans seem to be running a lot, so I figure it's time for a clear out.

    Thanks,

    All the Best,

Compressed air works well too, just make sure the vacuum cleaner goes no where near sensitive components and you discharge yourself to ground after using it as they can generate huge amounts of static.

770M will overclock much further when tuned properly though, the 106 is more efficient than a cut down 108. I'm at 680M stock speeds at around 1ghz core speeds and temps are really low.

    Hi Meaker,

Any idea how high the 770m go? I am at 1050 at 1.025, 1ghz at 1.000volts is also 24/7 stable. Have tried to push past 1050mhz

The GTX670MX is also based on the newer GK106 Kepler core as the 770m, the older gtx670m was based on the Fermi core. However I am curious about the binning between the 670mx and 770m...

    Hi, first time by here.

IN may I buyed a P370em and I am enjoying it.

I want to use a caddy with a hdd in the place of a dvdrom. I have been taking measurements and it looks like being able to accept a 12.5 or 12.7mm caddy. Am I right?

Please, Can you suggest me a good caddy?

    Thanks you!

Sorry for the delayed reply, I have been unwell. Thank you both. I'm not sure I trust my vacuum cleaner with my computer. ^_^

Follow up question. Where might I find instructions for taking the fans out please? I've never actually cleaned out a computer before, so a bit worried about breaking something. Thanks.

    All the Best,

    Union Jack.

The fans are simply held in by their own screws, separate from the heatsink, so undo those, unplug them and lift them out gently. Don't forget to plug the connector back in when you put them back!

Any help for this will be greatly appreciated!

Other than bad paste, can a bad gpu simply cause overheating? (As in no other signs - no crashing or frame drops) I have never really experienced this. (Referring to a NP9370 with SLI 680s. GPU2 is running a whopping 30 degrees hotter than GPU 1 - in games and in benchmarks). I repasted once with the pea method and once with the spread method and yielded the same results. I don't know what else to do rather than to RMA it. But I am open to suggestions! It wasn't overclocked. It has the stock volt "unlocked" vBios installed as does the other card.It has been running fine for months and just randomly I started getting some tearing and lines on the screen - so I started checking temps. If I turn on a bench like Unigine Valley or Heaven, this card will hit 90 degrees with fans on full blast in about a minute! The fans are all operational - but I am running out of ideas. Obviously a bad GPU can overheat, but it is showing no other signs of being bad - as in it runs fine until the temperature warms up then it starts showing signs of tearing. I assume it is the slave GPU since it is labeled as GPU2 in Afterburner - can someone verify please that it is the one placed closest to the battery? Where the Master/GPU1 is the one directly below the subwoofer (closest to the back)?

When I repaste, I use ArctiClean products as well. I was using Tuniq TX-2 for paste. The room I am working in is about 21C. When this card is running at 90 the other card is around 63C. If anyone has a suggestion or something worth trying - I am open to suggestion. I haven't tried lapping the heatsink but is it possible that it isn't sitting on the GPU properly?

And I thought I was done with this machine! Haha. Thanks guys!

What kind of pressure marks are the paste leaving on the heatsink when you take it off? It may be low pressure on the heatsinks causing poor contact.
