Hello all, I am new and this is really my first "decent" computer haha..

I just bought a used P370EM and it came with the Killer Wireless N 1103 card, from my research this is supposed to have BT 4.0 correct? However there is no BT enabled in Windows, no device missing or listed for BT in Device Manager and no matter what drivers I install I don't see anything for BT. My board looks exactly like the one above, so I assume I am actually missing the "BT" module that goes in the green square? Searching for the Part Number I can find it for around $7, do I actually need to purchase that to enable BT? Thank you in advance for any help or advice you can provide!

    **UPDATE**
I went ahead and bought one to get it here as soon as possible, but would still like to know haha :)

No, that card does not have bluetooth. You can get ones that fit that do however, the Intel 7260AC mini PCI-E for example.

Well that's a shame.. Would the secondary part I ordered be able to provide BT? If not I guess I'll return it when it gets here and look into a new card.

Next issue/question, I had to reformat and install the OS on here so by default it found and downloaded the needed drivers for the AMD 7970's that came installed. (Side note: I hate AMD) The downloaded and installed system info:
    Code:
    Radeon Software Version - 17.1.1
Radeon Software Edition - Crimson ReLive
Graphics Chipset - AMD Radeon HD 7970M
    Memory Size - 2048 MB
    Memory Type - GDDR5
    Core Clock - 850 MHz
    Windows Version - Windows 10 (64 bit)
    System Memory - 24 GB
    CPU Type - Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-3630QM CPU @ 2.40GHz
    Code:
    Radeon Settings Version - 2017.0424.2119.36535
    Driver Packaging Version - 17.10.1731-170424a2-313676E-WU-Template-1710
Provider - Advanced Micro Devices, Inc.
    2D Driver Version - 8.1.1.1599
    Direct3D® Version - 9.14.10.01261
    OpenGL® Version - 6.14.10.13474
    OpenCL™ Version - 22.19.162.4
    AMD Mantle Version - 9.1.10.0189
AMD Mantle API Version - 102400
AMD Audio Driver Version - 10.0.1.6
    Vulkan™ Driver Version - 1.5.0
    Vulkan™ API Version - 1.0.39
As it sits right now it is running and Crossfire is working correctly, however the drivers are outdated and I seem to run into issues with some games. So I tried installing the newest update from AMD, 18.6.1 and it installs fine but completely disables my Laptops LCD, I can plug in an external monitor and still use the computer but there is no longer a Crossfire Option in the AMD Settings.. Does anyone know a fix or how to update the drivers for this thing.. I am testing on a fresh clean install of Windows 10, the only way to revert the changes was to do another system wipe and re-install Windows, re-installing the old version didn't fix anything after I attempted the update.

Have you tried going for one version back instead? I don't have the part number for the normal Bluetooth module to hand but if you checked and it's the one then it should work fine.

Hello everyone, hope you guys can clarify some things for me:

    1. Is the SAGER NP9370 with 680M SLi Windows 10 capable? I mean, can I get a disc and install Windows 10 and it will work without issues and/or damaging the hardware?
    2. Can I install 680M GPU drivers directly from Nvidia site or do I need to stick with the old as hell driver from SAGER NP9370 driver site?

I am asking that because recently I believe one of my 680M died and I want to be sure of it before I thrown it away...

Does anyone have the original stock VBIOS that comes with the SAGER NP9370 680M?

I flashed a custom one a long time ago and don't have a backup of the stock one. It would be amazing if someone have it or run GPU-Z and do a backup and upload it. It would mean a lot to me, as maybe the GPU is not dead, maybe it's the VBIOS that stopped working properly after like 2-3 years working without issues... =/

Thank you so much, but something seems odd. I know for a fact that my 680M SLi that was shipped with my SAGER-NP9370 had VBIOS 80.04.33.00.10 and not this version (80.04.67.00.01). Both GPUs have a sticker on them with the version number 80.04.33.00.10. Is it OK to flash a newer version?

Also, is your screen 120Hz or 60Hz? I believe the NP9370s with 120Hz screen had this 80.04.67.00.01 VBIOS. Mine is 60Hz.

Vbios files do get updated over time and will be put on units that ship out after that. If it's from the same model then you are fine.

Hah one of my GPUs just died too. No error, just quiet click on motherboard and PSU light turns off when I try to turn ON the laptop. Same click when I try just with a battery. I had no artifacts or any indication something will die soon. Good thing I have MXM GPUs and can still use one of them.

Hello, I have in my P370EM Clevo's 7970M v1.1, which I have baked several times and which is the reason why I bought another 7970M (sadly Dell v1.2).

After flashing the new Dell card's vBios with latest Clevo 7970M vBios from techinferno I am able to run it in master slot, even crossfire is running.

BUT, no HDMI whatsoever. DP only without audio. When I flash Dell vBios to it I get no HDMI and no DP.

Anyone managed to run Dell's 7970M v1.2 in P370EM (or another Clevo) with fully working HDMI and/or DP with audio? Any recommended vBios?

Does Prema still uses this forum? Maybe I need a modded BIOS to make a GPU that was supposed to be on SLOT2 to work on SLOT1 (the main one)?

The laptop will boot with working GPU2 on SLOT1 but give no video at all, not even BIOS/POST.
The laptop will boot with broken GPU1 on SLOT1 and will give video and go into Windows.

    Hi all,

My friend has an NP9370 with an i7-3840QM and a 680M in it. He wants to upgrade the 680M that's in it. eBay has a 15% off coupon and I was wondering if he can purchase a 980M card or even a 10XX card and throw it in the laptop with no issue. Is this possible, or is there anything to look out for like a specific card model only? Thanks! Would really appreciate some info before the sale ends tonight!

    *EDIT*
I'm looking at the 10XX cards and some of them have different screw layouts than others. This is really confusing.

980m drop in upgrade with only system bios flash (contact Prema)

1060 and 1070 additionally require edp screen and cable (the 120hz panel from the P370EM3 model is a direct swap)

Theres a few different 1070s floating around

Green pcb old gecube 1070 = rubbish, high failure rate. Eurocom often sold these with lower power limits in the vbios (and therefore lower performance)
Black pcb new gecube 1070 = looks better, but being relatively recent there are few reports so far, and AFAIK you'll need to buy direct from China (taobao)
Msi 1070 = best quality card, but weird shape, needs minor case mods with a dremel to fit. SLI v1.0 a.k.a. "Vortex" 1070s have a couple minor bugs but you wouldn't get a v1.0 unless it's second hand or very old stock and the SLI ones are incredibly rare anyway
Other 1070s zotac/aetina/etc = incompatible with Clevos, no workaround

See the 1070 sli P370EM link in my sig for details on the case mods to fit MSI 1070 in master gpu slot, and edp panel swap.

@bennyg Thanks for the information! He stated he's going to hold off on it now, but I'll be scouring eBay for him anyways. A 980M is what I'll be recommending to him if that's the best GPU he can get without having too much trouble.

@Meaker@Sager I've done VBIOS editing and flashing before, and my friend's NP9370 actually used to be my laptop I used throughout college. I've taken it apart many times, so I'm pretty comfortable with the whole process. Thank you for your consideration though! :)

Just be aware you may be on the hook as tech support is all. A cheaper 980m would be a big boost.

Sorry to flog a dead horse but I want to upgrade the P370EM, I like the idea of giving a laptop that has served me well to a friend, better than scrapping it. I can see from the last posts a 980M is a more painless upgrade. I can buy a 980M + i7 3920XM on Taobao together for just $320 so I think it's worth doing. From what I understand the install process is something like prema bios > vbios > modded inf drivers? Can someone let me know how to get in touch with prema for the bios? The rest I think I can scrape together but if anyone has links that would go appreciated. Thank you in advance to anyone who takes pity on me for old times sake.

There is no need to flash the BIOS. That hardware will be fine with the stock BIOS.

As you stated you will need to .inf mod the driver.

Thanks guys that gives me more reassurance. I've bought a clevo card and I'll use the vbios listed on techpowerup. Little worried about no max fan control but I'll see if I can contact Prema on twitter.

The vbios on techpowerup is old. Whatever is on the card is probably newer and better.

I'll probably leave it mining alt coins until I give it away. I remember it being a hot system and stepping up to a 55W CPU has me concerned, worst case scenario I'll try undervolting the 3920xm.
Oh good to know, first time I've bought an mxm card feels more complicated than it probably is, I assumed there would be no vbios on it.

I've been using the rlecviewer custom fan control app on my p370em, it's pretty basic and needs a fair bit of fine tuning to get working OK but it would allow you to lower the temp threshold at which they spin to max.

Success! Well mostly... I'd encourage anyone who is thinking of upgrading to do so it's almost plug and play if you have bought the right card. Installing Win10 automatically recognised the card and installed 388.13 drivers. Modifiying INF installed 431.60 ok. Now the problems, with stock BIOS fans never spin up to 100% and let the cpu idle at 60c worse than I expected. rlecviewer has fixed the worst of that but the CPU/GPU are still way too hot under full load. I've respasted twice with kryonaut but it doesn't seem to get the temps under control. This is all stock and I can't undervolt 3920xm sadly. Not sure if I should expect these temperatures in synthetics. Random black screens for a few seconds on external display are happening regardless of load, I'll swap the display and see if it keeps happening. Despite this I'm somewhat pleased.

    @losermobile

Those temps look good for sustained full load. Your max CPU temp is 105C and max GPU temp 91C, which you are well below of on both. You're not even hitting the max GPU fan speed, which happens at 85C. CPU up to 91C should be occasional tripping into full speed CPU fan when temp passes 90C, but that will only last for a few seconds.

If you really want lower temps you can lower the CPU power limit in XTU. For the GPU you can't adjust the TDP, but if you overclock it you will actually drop the voltage at the same clocks and boost FPS for no power increase.

Well that's good to hear, I would never let my desktop reach these temps but perhaps I overreacted. Those recorded temps are with 100% fans with rlecviewer. Running prime 95 for 30 mins Turbos @ 3.6GHZ, 90c but idling it turbos up to full 3.8GHz. Surely this means I'm being throttled, HWInfo doesn't any limit or throttle being applied though...

Prime 95 is a heavy load and turbo is designed to be variable with load. Also watch 1 core turbo vs 4 core turbo.

Is it normal that I can't get into BIOS with a USB keyboard? I want to change boot order and update the BIOS but the laptop has a broken keyboard. I would clear the CMOS to check but I don't know if secure boot will become enabled and turn off the 980m which I have heard is an issue.

Not normal no, if you can get into windows do an advanced restart (hold shift when clicking restart) and select to boot straight into the bios.

I'm really grateful for your advice and info @Meaker and others. I hadn't thought of that but there's no UEFI boot option for menu on advanced menu... I will have to try a 3rd keyboard replacement and if that doesn't work I'm out of luck, feels horrible to be let down by something so simple.

Yea no UEFI firmware settings there for me. I'll try different external keyboards in a few days but I'm beginning to think the keyboard connector on the motherboard is fried.

Sure I get that: I have 2 issues 1) I want a laptop with a working keyboard 2) I want to update the BIOS and vBios which I need keyboard input to do. I can work around 2) by trying different external keyboards but ultimately I need to solve 1)

    Morning all!

I have a friend with a p370em3 and his 780m has given out. He has the 3D 120 panel and we have decided his best bet for cost is a GTX 1060. The process is easy enough, but I can't find a lot of information on thermal pad placement for the 1060. Does anyone have any links or info on that particular aspect of the install?
