You run a 1680 v2? If so, what RAM/config are you using? Voltage settings for CPU/RAM? 4.0 is stable for me. I can get 4.1, but haven't had time to test it. 4.2 results in a shutdown. Are you using 1 power brick?

i got a 4.2 at 1.24v, its left on default, going to 4.3 will need like 1.31v to be stable. these include some avx workload and passes intel xtu test. also going higher doesnt really do much as johnkss mentioned theres power limit so it throttles back down and increase temp too much.

ram is at 1600 x4, bandwidth is good because quad channel so should focus on latency. quad channel has higher latency than dual channel in general so try to get lowest ram CL possible. 2 PSU

Guys, I have a bit of problem...My Sager NP9570 monitor won't turn on. With the AC plugged in charging, and battery installed, the laptop powers on with nothing on the screen, BT icon blips for a second, then the laptop auto-shuts down. After about 2 seconds it turns itself on with the LCD light blinks for a second then nothing on the monitor. The fans are running, the power light is on and the keyboard is illuminating a purple color - and continues to run as if it's fully functional until I manually power it down.

I've tried the battery extract unplug AC/power hold for 1 minute trick, but I get the same behavior as before. Any suggestions as to what might be wrong?

External monitor as like with a TV/HDMI cable? Yes.

I hope my HDD isn't screwed. The only lights that come on are the battery, AC, keypad and power button. All of this happened after the Windows 10 - 1709 build Oct. 18...One problem after another, until this.

-clear cmos, power out, battery out, power button down for 30 sec
-if you have 2 GPUs in laptop, try putting 2nd GPU into primary slot
-reseating ram, and try with 1 stick at a time first this is very time consuming because 1 stick is under cpu heasink.

in that order, because reseating ram requires most disassembly and takes most of the time. it will not be your harddrive because at least you should see bios or boot screen, if its pure black screen then 100% not your HDD. try removing HDDs see if its the samething should be easy to tell.

Oh, man..I had thought my data was totally wiped. At this very moment I am attempting to pop up the upper plastic latch where the lights indicators are and unscrew the 5 screws which attach the keyboard. Detach CMOS wired battery for 10 mins then try to power on after.

Is there a video for the above methods?

The higher risk of stripping heads with even a low power cordless screwdriver is not worth it imo, especially if the original years-old screw has never been touched - and the assembler may have used loctite as well

Dammit...tried to reset the CMOS battery and broke the clip. The bottom "+" and lower ridge are broken - managed to find the "+" piece. Don't know if crazy glue is wise due to the fact that the laptop gets hot during use.

Is there an alternative way of keeping the battery in place without it plopping out?

Managed to get the battery aligned into place. Looks like it wasn't the battery. Will attempt other methods ole!!! pointed out and if all else fails, will just have to turn it in for repairs. You guys have been very helpful, thank you all for your time!

Looks like I'll have to ship it to Sager. Bennyg had mentioned loctite - I guess this was the case for the first GPU. The 2nd black coined screw wouldn't come off and ended up stripped, while the others came off nicely.

For the RAM under the heatsink, four massive screws wouldn't even budge.

The GPU screws on this one do need just the right head. The CPU heatsink screws should be fairly easy to undo...

I managed to get those screws loosened with a bit of pressure/grip. I re-seated the RAM stick, and this time a different behavior occurred.

    - AC plugged in w/battery BT light flickers for less than a second, cylinder light doesn't blip, no fans running, all lights are on. Restarts itself, same thing.

    - AC unplugged, battery only, 3 lock symbols flash for about a minute, fans humming healthily then it shuts off.

One stick? I only see the 8GB DDR that's under the fan/heatsink. I took that out and waited for 10 minutes, placed it back in.

Edit: Also forgot to mention before this happened, my GPU kicked me out of Skyrim and gave me the error: 'TESV.exe has been blocked from accessing graphics hardware' screen goes black audio jittering in the background. Had to manually power down.

Just a thought when ole!!! stated to switch GPUs for a possible 100% black screen fix.

    Hi guys,

    I recently got a Clevo P570wm with E5-2680V2. I plug 4 * Kingston KHX2133C11S3L/8G Laptop Memory.

However my CPU-Z shows that DRAM Frequency is 666.5MHz, which means the memory runs at 1333MHz

Can anyone tell me how to solve this problem? my bios version is 1.03.06 unlocked

I would greatly appreciate for your advice

    Cheers

Manually adjust your timings to that of a higher set than 1333mhz.

Note that 2133mhz is a push for a lot of chips.

this laptop CPU doesnt have built in iGPU so if you have extra money, see if you can find a cheap graphics card that will work in this machine, preferably the same type you've got.

in simple terms, if I have a 980m, I will want to get another 980m that will have them in SLI or on the side and make sure 2nd GPU works. when your GPU break down you can simply replace it and can still use computer while waiting for a replacement GPU but thats just me.

storage device going bad, bad latest firmware etc, bad driver.

didnt johnkss mention that xeon CPU can only do 1866? i forgot who it was but i read it somewhere in this thread

Xeon will only run up to 1866Mhz from everything I tried with my P570WM + 2680v2 + 32gb GSKILL DDR3 2133mhz ram + Prema BIOS.

With quad channel memory the thing to be worried about is overall latency more too, so aiming for a lower frequency and tighter timings will get the best results anyway.

Personally I think that would be a huge ask, unlikely the P570 bios would see it correctly.

im not knowledgeable in the GPU side of things, try asking @Eurocom Support as they are making p570wm to take in new GPUs like 1060/1070. if theres a demend for wx7100 im guessing they would look into it and can help you out.

ok need some help, when uninstalling p570wm chipset driver, i try to rerun the setup.exe but it just says its installed doesnt give me an option to uninstall. i rather not have to go through each one under device manager, is that the only way to uninstall chipset? help!

ps, reinstalling window new OS is not an option because im trying to duplicate the current OS to p870tm.

Hey guys! Just got back my Sager NP9570 from repairs today. Apparently I was informed that it was the motherboard causing the problem of the 100% black screen.

Everything was repaired with a few problems. As soon as I turned the laptop on it immediately turned itself off. I quickly noticed that it wasn't fully charged, so I'm leaving it alone until 100% - hopefully it doesn't randomly turn itself off during my tasking after this method.

Stripped screws were replaced! Even my old cover screws. I noticed I was missing 3 screws on my CPU fan. No big deal, just order some more or find a hardware/computer store that sells fan screws.

Edit: Just as I suspected. It randomly shuts off without warning, then restarts. Even when the battery is 100% charged. Tried using the AC as main, still the same behavior. Tried with the battery, same thing... The duration ranges from 3-7 secs to 20 - 30 mins.

Sounds like a bad connection shorting out somewhere and triggering shut off. Speak to the people who repaired it.

i have mine does that, though not sure if its same magnitude like yours.

mine would shutdown randomly (from a restart), then it'll stay on for good but will always need 1 random shutdown. to avoid that i'd not restart, but use full shut down. if i forget to do a shutdown and use restart then it'll do it again randomly but issue goes away after a random shutdown. if yours doesn't go away then its got some serious issue, thats not a usable computer.

Before I sent it in for repairs, my Windows 10 was corrupted (1709 October update). Freezing games, couldn't upgrade/downgrade, unusable programs etc. up to the point that the LCD screen wouldn't come on, but the laptop itself powered up. Called them up today, and informed me to wipe the entire drive - since they don't change OS upon repairs and use the Windows 8.1 disc that it came with.

Now that I have a new motherboard, it seems I'm back to my first initial problem. So, I'll try wiping going back to 8.1. Hopefully, this will solve it.

Yes the EC structure is totally different. There have been cases where cards can work in either but it's not even a general rule that they do.

I had several different shut down and reset problems over the past 5 years.

Shutdown : one of my Ram slots became loose or something, I had to remove the ram from that slot to fix the problem.

Shutdown : CPU fan became bulky and sometimes completely stopped, laptop turned off itself even the temperature was around 45 C. replaced the fan and problem solved.

Reset : few years back the reset problem was caused by CPU, my CPU was dislocated too, not too much but seemed to have a problem, I just removed it cleaned it and put it back. everything works fine after that.

Desktop freeze : Switch the SSD places, format and Installed a new windows.

For some reason my laptop connectors like to become loose very fast (maybe because I don't carry it carefully) so I have to open it up, make sure everything is in place, every 6 months :)
