After replacing the motherboard for repair, the brightness could not be adjusted. Do you know what the cause is?
    BIOS version 1.03.07a (EUROCOM)
    EC 1.03.03
    OS Windows 7 Pro 64-bit

Have any of you guys had issues when trying to update the NVIDIA graphics card drivers?
I have the GTX 980M and I'm having problems updating it since August.

Also, I just switched to Windows 10, and I cannot find drivers for Bluetooth

I've been unable to update the graphics card's drivers since June. GeForce Experience says I've got the latest drivers, even though they're years old (my current drivers are from 2017). Also, when I try to it install the drivers manually, the installer tells me it cannot continue because, supposedly, my version of Windows isn't compatible, even though it should be, because NVIDIA still supports the GTX 980M, and I've made sure to download the right installer for my Windows version (Windows 10 64-bit).

I've tried uninstalling the driver (regularly, and through DDU), but nothing works, and I'm stuck with really old drivers. Also, as I said, I even installed a clean version of Windows 10, so not even reinstalling Windows fixed this issue.

You are going to have to mod the inf file of the nvidia driver to update to a newer one. I still have my Panther 5 and i had the same issue with newer Nvidia drivers. There are guides on the forum that will show you how to do that. Google modding Nvidia inf files and that should help you find what you need to mod the driver.

Thank you. I just read about modding inf files, but I'm not sure what exactly is that I'm supposed to do, since most of the guides I've found is for people whose cards are indeed no longer compatible with newer drivers, but my card, according to NVDIA's website, is still supported.

Yes 980Ms are supported by Nividia but in this notebook it was not natively supported. This chassis was 3 generations or more before the 980Ms were produced and the BIOS and vBIOS was modified to support this notebook with 980Ms. Modding the inf file is not that difficult. It took me a sec to figure it out with the help of MRFOX and others you can do it also. Check out this link by MRFOX. Check out his instruction as well......

In that case, just extract them, open NVCVI.INF in NotePad and use the "Replace All" feature to replace the 4-digit hardware ID that does not match with your hardware ID. If you are running W8 or W10 you will have to boot with Driver Signature Enforcement disabled to install modded drivers. My 980M hardware ID is PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_13D7&SUBSYS_03761558 and I am going to guess your stock BIOS has something other than '0376' that needs to be replaced by your hardware ID. Takes about 2 minutes to do the mod. This is something every Alienware owner with aftermarket GPU upgrades has to do and it's not a big deal. Once you learn how it will be super easy.

Awwwwww..... Yeah! That did it. Thank you! It was indeed quite easy.
Now I have one last issue, one that might not be solvable, as I'm guessing it might be hardware related.
I've had issues with Bluetooth, almost nearly since I bought my laptop in 2014. However, right now, it's at its worst. My laptop no longer recognises the BT adapter. I cannot even find it in the device manager (it's not even hidden).
I tried downloading the drivers from the Qualcomm Atheros website and it solved nothing. I downloaded the AR3012 version, which I think was the one for this machine, as I chose the Killer Wireless version, but Killer no longer works with Qualcomm ever since they got acquired by Intel.

I've tried many things I've read on the net like restarting the service, updating my drivers, unplugging my laptop, but nothing works.

You are going to have to go into device manager and check your network adapters to see which wifi card you have. I have the killer 1202 in mine but the last supported driver was in 2016 I believe. You are probably going have to look at the killer archives for a compatible driver as killer no longer supports those older wifi cards.

I agree with Meaker swap out and install the AX 1650 wifi card if you are able. They are relatively cheap with better bluetooth functionality and faster internet speeds. Also with newer drivers better support than older wifi cards

    • I'm new to this but I can't find anything on upgrading my P570WM to 980 desktop cards in SLI. The full blown 980 desktop cards with 2048 shaders. I have mod my case to install them. The laptop post but I can not install any Nvidia drivers to fully use them. I read in a earlier post that the Clevo 980 Desktop MXM cards will work and not require any extra power. There is a 4-pin connector on the card which I believes need to be hooked up in order for the cards to work? or be recognized by the laptop. Running GPUZ it shows up with both cards having 2048 shaders. Has anyone tried adding a 4-pin connector off the motherboard or can the extra power split of the fan power? ….see pic of what I have going on. Any help would be appreciated....thanks

    • ...sorry I have tried and I don't know how to insert pics on this so I can show you the MXM cards installed and the GPUZ....sorry

Thanks, for the fast reply....but the MSI 980's your talking about. Are they the full blown 980 cards or the 980m's? If, so ...how much watts each cards draws? I have the 980m's in my MSI Titan laptops in sli but they have only 1536 shaders. …... 980m - 1536 shaders 980mx- 1664 shaders 980 Desktop - 2058 shaders. I thought the only cards that didn't need extra power was the 980m's...….You think these 980 desktops will fit and work in my MSI Titan? and I put my 980m's in the SAGER P570WM?...thanks
Also...how you install pics on this site?...I tried and I couldn't figure it out.

This is what I have...(2) P775DM 980 Desktop . When I run Fire Strike I'm only getting 11317 score which I think are low and cards are down clocked to the amount of power it's getting to each MXM slot 100w? I for some reason can't enable SLI in Nvidia Control Panel. Running GPUZ both cards are shows up but no SLI. Single care is suppose to get around 13.5-14K in Fire Strike and SLI 18.5-19k...so I know these cards are not running full power....Anyone tried adding MXM cards that require extra power to them in SLi and if so...how....thanks
    Any advice is apricated

Check your SLI cable seating and check the connectors for SLI. Also you can use gpuz to check each has the same vbios.

I did on the SLI link. The heatsink sits like almost top of the connections. If they were not seated right then it would not sit right. Could it be a driver issue maybe? In my desktop I was running Titan X 12GB cards in SLi but it would not allow be to enable SLI with the newest Nvidia drivers so I read on a site that for those cards to work you had to go back like and installed the old drivers when the cards first came out and WOW.....they were allowing me to run them in SLI. I'm afraid to do that to these cards, cause I had someone mod these vBios for me and did all kinds of stuff to get them running in this laptop. If, I tried that and un-installed all driver and re-installed old drivers would my cards still work or would I have to redo the vBois again on them to be recognized . I don't think I could do all that and get it up and running again.....just bummmmmmed that I can't get these cards to run full power.

    Hello sipbuasri.

The same situation occurs when two GTX680Ms are mounted on the CLEVO X7200. Even if two graphics cards are detected in the BIOS and Device Manager, SLI cannot be enabled in the nvidia control panel.
In this case, I was able to enable SLI in the nvidia control panel by installing the old nvidia driver and running the different SLI.
Windows starts in test mode when you run different SLI
From this experience, I think a similar operation is required to enable GTX980 SLI on the P570WM.

Yes, the vBios are the same. When I installed the older drivers it did give the option to SLI and when I click Yes to enable and hit apply and the screen went distorted so I restarted the laptop and now when it goes to Window screen for like 10 seconds then the screen says lost signal and monitor turns off and black screen. but laptop is still running.....? Did I just F****ed up my laptop cards?
