Huge cookie to anyone that can figure out my problem.
For all those network savvy people out there - I have a WiFi problem.

Whenever I try to connect to my WiFi, it just doesn't work. I will connect to the router fine but then I won't have internet. Here's the weird part:
At 3 bars of signal or under, the internet works fine, but then my laptop does some sort of auto switch and I get 4-5 bars of signal and my internet doesn't work anymore. I do have more than one router, but they are broadcasting different SSID's so its not like its connecting to different networks. It's doing something though, like auto switching frequency and the one that gives me better signal doesn't work. I don't even know where to start to troubleshoot this. If I could even find a way to make my laptop stay on whatever its connecting to when I only get 3 bars that would be fine with me.

I'll be on 3 bar signal and internet working fine for 10 seconds, then I would suddenly get full bars of signal and bam, internet doesnt work. Maybe 10 minutes later my WiFi signal goes back to 3 bars and internet is fine for another 10 seconds and then repeat....

I will actually bake cookies and send them to the person that can figure this out.

    Hey guys. Good day!

I just got a problem, my sound blaster x-fi mb3 suddenly stopped working. I don't know how or when, because i've been using my razer headset in a week now and been not able to use my laptop speakers. Today, i watched a movie using my laptop speakers, and noticed that turning on the sbx pro studio doesn't do anything at all with the audio. Just wanna know if some of you guys already encounter this problem and maybe know a solution for this? (i'm very sorry for my bad english)

    Thanks in advance guys!

Can you share the link to the Hotkey app? I downloaded from the Clevo site, but when I install it, it still shows as installing 3.09.21

You gotta grab it from the Asian server. That's the only one that currently has the latest file.

They usually do keep the asian server the most up to date as far as files go, they should really just set up auto replication between them though.

Few things I can think of:
    A) First thing I would do is check your IP address settings (right-click the interface and click Status -> Details tab). Make sure it matches your LAN and isn't statically set or anything like that.

    B) Your laptop may be roaming onto a different, but open, access point which has a stronger signal (but no internet). Check in your list to ensure you're actually still connected to your AP. You can also prevent it from roaming and reduce the "roaming aggressiveness" in the WiFi card settings (device manager -> wifi card).

    C) Given the apparent signal bar changes, do you happen to have a 5Ghz capable router? Things like this can happen if both 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz access points are using the same AP name. Windows is often incapable of correctly separating the two if they use the same name and may be jumping between them. I'd also recommend changing it from the default AP name in your router for the same reason. In packed apartments and such where others may have the same brand or model, similar things can happen.

BTW Meaker, are there options available for keyboard with a much brighter backlight? Currently, the backlight is very dim and only in very dark rooms will it be noticeable.

    EDIT
The Asia server worked but after installing it's still version 3.09.21

    Thanks,

Did you uninstall the old version before installing the new one ? I got the right version installed properly after downloading from Asia server.

btw, I uploaded the driver to Mega, you can try it here.

So I tried flashing the stock BIOS (B307E304) as well as installing the latest Hotkey driver (3.19.32) but my Bluetooth keep disappearing. Anyone with the Killer 1525 card having the same problem ? If not, could you please tell me which BIOS & ME version (can be found on the first page of BIOS menu) you are using ? I would like to verify if this is a software or hardware problem before taking any other action.

When saying B307E304, you mean BIOS version 307 and EC version 304? If so, I think you are not good to go, you need to update EC as this is where the changes have been made to accomodate for the Killer 1525 card.

For instance, I have this card, and had the same problem as you before updating. I am on Bios 303 PremaMod (Thanks again Prema!) and EC version 306, see attached file. With this version the card works flawlessly, at least for me, but I think it was a consensus that after the EC update the 1525 did not have that much issues.

EDIT: here is the XMG drivers page, you can find BIOS and EC by browsing to XMG-->XMG P505-->BIOS--> your version

Yes it is EC 304, I got it from Prema website, it is not the latest one ? Can you show me where I can get the latest version ? I tried the EC 06 on the mySN site and my PC got frozen, I had to remove the battery to have it working again.

Edit: I will try the Prema BIOS + mySN EC combo, maybe the stock BIOS + mySN EC did not work.

    Hi there ppl!

    I'm here for an opinion.
Is this laptop with 3k screen still worth it or should I wait for something new?

    Thanks

    Hello!

Been a stalker for a while and now I require your assistance, couldn't find a solution anywhere else:

Bought my Eurocom M5 pro a few months back and suddenly I've noticed my keyboard isn't responsive at all. Every key needs to be held 2-3 for it to register, if I just try typing normally, I get around 10% of my key presses.

I've eliminated the possibility that this is a software issue. Drivers are fine, accessibility setting are fine, responds the same on Bios/safe mode and external keyboards work fine.

My question is, could this mean the connecter is loose or that the keyboard is just defected?
If so, does anyone know what type of keyboard connector does the P650se use?

    Thanks in advance =]

Here prema is stating interesting stuff about bios and ec. I remember asking about upgrading only the EC above 304 earlier in this thread, I think Lonesyndal answered me but I cannot find the answer anymore. Anyway, it seems to me that I just flashed the EC version I have now over the last one (the one from Prema's package) and it worked. If you are really concerned about the process, read about it on Internet or pm prema.

Oh and if you like his work (what do I say, art!), contribute!

Thank you for your help. I just flashed the Prema BIOS, then I could flash the EC 06 from the mySN site. I will wait for some time to confirm if the problem is solved or not and will update later. btw, I did contribute to Prema long time ago. I love his work ;)

Note for all other users: DO NOT flash the EC 306 from mySN site over the stock BIOS B07E04 from Prema website, it will froze your system during update and may eventually result in a brick!

I'm not completely sure on the different EC306 from differing vendors, but as long as you have one that fixes the AC1525, just flash it over anything you currently have that is pre-306. As for freezing during flashing... let's hope you're using a clean USB thumbstick that is formatted correctly and you are plugged to AC Adapter.

EDIT: haha, immediately after posting that I solved it by going into Sound Blaster settings and selecting the speakers as the default playback device instead of the Realtek Digital Output, which it had somehow switched to.

Just received my Sager 8652 from Mythlogic (DIA 1614) with the 980m. I ran hwinfo and it is stating that my screen is the LG LP156WF4-SLB5 with a date of manufacture of 2011. When I look on panellook.com it says the panel is discontinued.

Is this correct? Did I get an old screen and not a newer one?

That would be nice. The GPU voltage control is bugged currently. It actually changes mid-game if you overvolt, leading to increased instability.

I don't mean to sound ungrateful. Constructive criticism.

Yup, V2 is currently in Beta, just waiting on its release. Cakefish, how do you apply your OC on startup and wake from sleep? On my old laptop, I had Nvidia Inspector do it with task manager but that was a pain... any way we can set it in a more permanent way?

not long.. mine has a 4K screen on it and only lasts 3 1/2 hours. Without 4k, estimates are 4-5 hours.
I got this for college anyways haha. Keep in mind you may have to upscale your backpack for it to fit too.

Hey. So I just got this laptop a couple days ago. And last night I accidentally dropped it from my bed to floor. (was surfing on the bed, fell asleep). When I waked up, my laptop just lying on the floor, upside down. My question is, how durable is this laptop? So far I see no scratches but I still worried about the components inside.

I don't think anyone is dumb enough to try out the durability on this thing. I've dealt with many (in the 100s) laptops and this is definitely a good build. I believe you shouldn't drop it, but it's definitely sturdy and durable all the way around.

Hahah. I didnt mean to ask somebody who has tested the durability. Just someone who might also have experienced accidentally dropping theirs or something.

If it seems OK then you're probably safe. Besides the potential physical damage, falls and drops from small distances can also unseat parts. If the computer ends having issues you may want to check everything is securely in place.

It depends on a lot of factors like how high it fell, how it landed when it hit, what type of floor it landed on, etc. You could open up the bottom and make sure that all the components there look ok as well. Then you can turn it on and check to make sure everything is running as you would expect.

! Happens :). Additionally, when surfing on the bed try not to block those intake vents at the bottom. That has the potential to slowly kill a laptop, regardless of how well it's internally designed (due to sub-optimal cooling, intake of fibers/lint from bedding, etc.) Even if it's just web-surfing I dislike using my laptop on anything but a clean, hard-surface. I do know there are bed-specific pads used to elevate the laptops out there. Those won't save you from drops, but maybe look into one.
