Thank you for the continued excellent service, I typically buy a new laptop with each GPU gen that comes out and you can sure bet my next one will be from you again ;)

mine is finally in, it is amazing, i have a few problems though. my 4720hq got really hot(99 degrees c) testing with realbench and after repasting it, it stayed the same temp but got a worse score. and my 970m is getting medeocre scores with 3dmark(7700) instead of the rated 10100 on 3dmark.

i reported the same issues a few pages back, and like others have said, updating your system bios, ec/kcb, and even your hotkey will essentially solve your problem. i still play on balanced (power setting) and adaptive (on nvidia control panel), but switching to performance may give you a little more juice.

Thanks for the reply. I have the latest hockey version directly downloaded from the Clevo site which is 3.9.21 also my bios is 3.0.7 and my kb/ec is 3.0.6

I'm a bit confused since the stock bios/ec at prema's site is 307 and 304 respectively. Does it mean my bios and ec are outdated?

No mate, you are good. Its just that the newer ECs (6-9) have not been pushed into final release versions by Clevo. (I don't include betas into stock packages).

Hi Prema, thanks for that. I guess my next step is to try and find a better M.2 SSD and see if that fixes the stuttering.

Hi, I've had my Saget NP8652 for 3 months now and I'm loving it. Luckily, I have the vBIOS without the clockblock.

Anyway, looking at my BIOS/EC I have 3.05aRLS1 and 3.06, respectively. Are these the latest stock for the Sager NP8652?

    Thanks!

Can I install the v7 from prema's site on my 8652? I think I read somewhere not to install non-sager bios on sagers. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Yes, stock BIOS use "StyleNote" screen (Clevo original branding) and Mods use my own design.

so I think a little ant fell into the gaps between the keyboard of my machine, any good ways to literally debug this issue? I ran a stress test to heat up the internals trying to kill it, any other good advice on getting it out?

Aaaaah I really laughed reading your post... If you are really that concerned disassemble the laptop, or remove the keyboard, maybe using a can of compressed air to try to flush it out could help

compressed air was the first thing I thought of but I don't have any at home. I guess I might need to remove the keyboard, because I really don't if it fell into the keyboard or just straight up didn't go anywhere near the machine

LOL...one ant won't do harm, they come and go...once they are dead and dry up they won't short-circuit anything.

I had whole nests moving in overnight into two systems (they love electricity) and had to take them entirely apart.
Even then I had to spend 5 bottles of airduster to get the dead ones all out and replace all thermal pads because they f-en ate them and distributed peaces of them into every single corner of the systems.

I even lost a hard-drive full of data because it had some foam stuff inside which they took apart and put all over the platter...I had an Army forensic specialist working on it and he couldn't recover it as the stuff melted and merged with the platter.

    Hi.
I bought a Vaio SVE171C11M without hdd.In my 256Gb SSD i instaled a fresh copy W8.1 and instaled all drivers from Sony webside.
The problem is pc not start only if I remove cmos batteri and ,of course, battery and power.Practically with a restored(reseted) BIOS.
Bios is updated and ram memory is checked.Maybe I need something on the hdd(SSD)?A special partition?
    Anyone know something?

    Thanks in advance,
    George

Hi George, this forum is really for sager machines. It sounds like an odd problem you are having which may be unique to your type of machine.

    Hi,

I have a P650SG and I have a problem with the Bluetooth on my Killer Wireless 1525 card. The device disappeared randomly and I had to reflash the BIOS everytime to make it come back, either the original BIOS or the Prema's one works, so I don't think the problem comes from BIOS. I notice everytime I unplug the laptop and bring it over to my friend's house the Bluetooth will certainly disappear, so it might relate to the laptop being unplugged for a long time ?

I tried reinstalling the card on the board, switching the 2 cables but nothing solved the problem. I tried with the Intel 7265 card and it worked normally so the problem is not from the mainboard either.

Have anyone experienced the same problem as mine ? I remembered reading about it somewhere months ago but could not find the posts.

This was a recurring issue with this combination laptop and card, flashing to the latest EC fixed it for everyone I think. It did for me at least.

Loving my Eurocom M5 Pro so far, except for one thing, one, BIG thing....

It seems that any game I throw at it so far has been defeated, the laptop runs very well, but even at framerates above 100fps it still seems laggy. I don't know whats up, but its been like this since I got it. I've tried locking my fps at many different value ex) 120, 60, 90, etc but it doesnt matter, I keep lagging. My benchmark scores are all around where they should be for my laptop, but it still seems....laggy.
It's like my fps is at 20, but it shows 60+. Its not dipping anywhere or anything, its just consistantly skipping and lagging. I've tried many framerate counters and they all report the same thing, so I don't understand at all. If my fps says 120 for example, why would I be lagging my brains out? My old Lenovo Y510p with a gt750m never had this problem. I wanted an upgrade, and I got it with the gtx 970m in this Eurocom, but only according to my framerate. It's really weird and hard to explain. I thought maybe there was a problem with my monitor, so I plugged in my external via HDMI and it was the same problem. Showed 120+ fps, felt like 20. dafuq?

Anyone having the same issue? Can anyone help me fix it? Really annoying...

I had to replace my wireless card to fix it. But that was before the BIOS/EC update was available.

You had to replace your wireless card to fix lag? It's not an online problem, it happens offline too. I don't see the relevance of a wireless card in this situation...

Oh no, it was to fix the Bluetooth issue mentioned in the post above yours.

In response to your issue, it sounds like you need to update your BIOS & EC. Stuttering is a known issue with the old version of the EC firmware. It causes the CPU to throttle every 10 seconds or so. Updating to the latest version fixes it.

DP, I've never messed with anything in the bios before, so I really don't know what im doing  Is there any articles or videos I should read before updating my bios and EC (what is EC? o_O) I don't want to screw anything up...

Well there goes all my credibility in this thread.

I would not suggest you do it yourself if you have no experience. You would not want a non-working laptop if the flashing goes wrong. However, if you want you can check out Prema's website under stock bios to get the latest version from there. I have not found where you can officially download the BIOS from Clevo's site though.

We all had to start somewhere! If you never try, you'll never gain the experience :) I managed to do it for the first time a couple years ago without causing any explosions. Just make sure you follow the instructions given word-by-word and use common sense.

It's not possible to get BIOS from the Clevo website. It's the one area where Clevo really falls short in terms of support in my opinion. Other OEMs permit and distribute BIOS updates, but not Clevo for whatever reason.

Clevo wont have the BIOS on their site for download as most Clevo computers are branded another name like Sager. You can get the BIOS from that reseller. Those are usually not available to download online either, but if you email in a request to your reseller then can get you the latest BIOS.

A question to any enthusiast owner:

Do you know if an external 120Hz (or greater) monitor work with the mDP on the P650SG? I've been contemplating on trying it out sometime soon for external 3D. If not, I'll probably aim for something non-Optimus for the next round of buying.

Hey guys, I have a NP 8652-s (Clevo P650SG) and I was wondering where is the Clevo website.
    BTW my BIOS is 1.03.07RLS1.

I wanted to check if all my drivers were up to date but I don't know the url to the "official" website. I google it and I find one http://www.clevo.com/en/e-services/Download/default.asp This website only has drivers for the x-fi sound. I went to the sager website http://www.sagernotebook.com/drivers.php and they only have drivers updated from January 2015.

I highly recommend anyone to install the RealTek Driver AND the Sound Blaster X-fi stuff.
Those Onkyo speakers play really nice once you set it up.
The original Win driver or the RealTek driver alone is not enough!

yes it does make a difference, especially for the onboard speakers. however i find that xfi keeps on turning off my sbx pro studio settings (saved profile notwithstanding) whenever i use my headphone jack. when i switch to internal speakers, i restores the correct settings again. you guys know of a way to save the sbx pro studio settings for h/p jack?

    Sure..
Here are the ones I use for SE version, but should be the same for SX. http://www.clevo.com.tw/EN/E-SERVICES/download/ftpOut.asp?Lmodel=P65xSE&ltype=9&submit= GO
Realtek audio driver 6.0.1.7363 (You have to use this one, I tried a newer version and X-fi could not find my device :/)
    SBX-Fi MB3 driver
Also there is a new HotKey version out! I like it! Hotkey driver 3.19.32 (It can be pretty hard to get, because the european server still has the old version and the US is a broken zip-file. Only Asia works, go figure Clevo == Asia..)
