few questions about the Clevo P650SE. Does the M.2 PCIe SSD slot (the one next to the battery) have thermal pad on it? I watched this video from and on their model there is thermal pad but on XoticPC video or HTWingnut's video, there's no thermal pad.

I plan to use 1 7mm 1TB HDD and 1 7mm SSD on this Clevo P650SE. Would that be an issue? What do I need to do to keep them running cool and smooth? (HDD first then SSD or vice versa, something between HDD and SSD?). Is anyone here using that configuration?

There is usually a thermal pad included with the computer accessories and can be installed if needed.

Keep the hdd closer to the bottom plate (so closer to you when flipped over and installing it) to aid cooling it .

I've begun to have issues connecting to the internet with an Intel 7265 card. In the USA I had no connection problems, but here in Dubai my connection drops at random. My computer will not reconnect unless I restart my router. Yesterday I attempted to fix the problem by doing a clean driver install, but now my computer will not even detect my home network after a router restart. Any idea what I can do? I have already emailed Mythlogic and am waiting on a response. Sorry if this came up recently; I haven't been on the forums since the redesign and can't find a 'search in thread' function.

Hello everyone. I am new here and I want to buy my first gaming laptop. So after searching for some time I found Clevo P650SE, Now, the laptop seems good on paper, but I have some questions:

1.How are the temperatures under heavy load (like when playing Witcher 3 or GTA V)?
2.How good is this panel AUO B156HAN01.2 AHVA IPS (is it a real IPS or AHVA is something else)?
3.Does this laptop support G-Sync, or there are mods to make it support it?
    4.How is the keyboard?
5.Is the 4720hq good enough for gaming (I don't want ultra graphics, but a combination of high ultra would be good

Right now I have an old Asus with a gt540m and I plan to buy the laptop next week. Should I wait for Skylake or a Maxwell refresh, or this one with a gtx970m is good enough? (going to college on 1 october, so I need a laptop until then).

    Thank you :)

    Hi guys,

I have an np8652-S and I started playing witcher 3 in ultra. For some reason, I get max 45fps but everyone else is getting 60fps. My control center is in performance, i turned nvidia hariworks off, shadow to high, power plugged in and its running in full screen. Any idea why this is happening? What are the geforce settings that are recommended?

Unfortunately no one with a single 980M will be getting 60fps Ultra in that game. It is simply too demanding. Reduce your quality settings if you want a constant 60fps.

1, gpu temps get up to 75 c on mine under heavy use while overclocked a bit(to 1150mhz), the cpu can get to 100 c in synthetic, so i underclocked it, now it reaches 85 c max.
    2, i have anpther panel
3, the laptop does not support g-sync due to optimus
4, the keyboard is realy comfortable and clicky, though you have to get used to the rezised keys near the arrow keys. Lightin is a bit limmited but good enough
5, the 4720hq is more then enough for gaming(even while mine is a bit underclocked to prevent high temps), and with the release of dx12 this will be even better due to lesser cpu overhead.

IPS is a trade marked name for wide angle technology. Saying is it "propper" IPS misses the point really as they are all fairly similar with plus point and negative points.

Any good quality matte screen covers that I can get? I thought I could deal with the glossy display, but I can't - it's driving me bonkers!

The backlight bleeding also deeply disturbs me. Even more so than the glossiness. Is there a way to dispel of it?

    2. It's as good as you would expect from an IPS panel laptop - no better or worse. Since IPS is a trademark of LG display, and this is a AUO panel, it's really a "IPS-type" display, technically trademarked AHVA I believe.
    5. Yes, the CPU is fine and unlikely to become more of a bottleneck than the GPU down the line. Both are soldered, I believe.
    6. I doubt Skylake quad core mobile will launch before early 2016 and at that point, there's no guarantee it will be rapidly available. For your timeframe, I don't see it happening. The 970m is a maxwell GPU, and I don't see anything else coming out this year to make it obsolete. I see no reason to wait overall.

    Hope that helps..

This is what I used for mine. You may have to try centering it.

I recommend doing the following for less bubbles:

    1) In a steamed environment (run hot water bath for a while), clean the screen using a microfiber towel to get rid of any grease, particles, and dust.

    2) Using scotch or painter's tape, align the film.

    3) Slowly peel the backside and press to apply the film. Make sure no dust particles get stuck underneath. You have only one try at this since touching the sticky side leaves fingerprints (unless you got latex gloves)

    4) Before removing the top cover of the film, use a plastic edge (like a credit card) to squeeze out all bubbles.

    5) Once done removing bubbles, remove top film and enjoy the matte. Attached is image of my laptop as it is now.

EDIT: If there's grease on screen or laptop... I recommend using an IPA hand wipe from your local CVS or something to get rid of it before starting this.

EDIT2: As for the backlight bleed, just remove the bezel and install it again to see if its the pressure causing it to bleed on edges. Alternatively, you can try contacting your reseller if you can upgrade your screen to the matte one provided that they have it in stock. They share the same connector anyway.

Thank you for that! Really helpful :)

I have removed bezel before and it is the cause of the bleeding. What can be done about it?

You can try a slightly looser installation. Mine came loose so the bleed isn't notable. I can't clearly remember who got their issue fixed but I think it was related to applying some tape on edge of the screen (that you dont see) to push back the bezel?

I'm not really sure how to achieve this? I've just taken the bezel off and it completely removed all backlight bleeding whatsoever. As soon as I put it back on, the bleeding comes straight back. It's entirely due to this bezel. But the bezel uses clips, so it's impossible to fit it in a looser way. I've tried fitting white tack where the problematic clips are to force the bezel to remain a bit looser but I won't really know if it has worked until tonight when it's dark.

It's so annoying that such a major screen issue is being caused by the simplest of things and yet, there is no easy way to fix it :(

I'm not sure how to achieve the flimsy bezel either. Mine was already this way and was compared to a friend's ordered elsewhere.

As for bleeding issues in general, I think its most of the laptop scene that gets this problem. We're not the only ones with the issue.

On a side note... 120/144Hz is possible on the mDP output. For the longest time I thought intel iGPU was incapable of outputting that. BenQ XL24 screen is doing wonders now.

You could try placing a very thin layer of tack along the silver edge of the display to help even out the pressure.

is the HyperX 16GB DDR3L better than 16GB DDR3? I heard it has lower voltage but what is the advantage of that? Besides $30 more expensive.

Please elaborate on exactly what sticks you are comparing. 4th and 5th gen I7 CPUs require 1.35V memory to guarantee stability. 1.5V ram will still be fed 1.35V and may not run at the rated speed at the lower voltage.

Makes a world of difference in recording too... smoother frames at 144+.

I don't know what the other sticks are but on RAM option of the Sager NP8651/Clevo P650SE (I'm asking for the Sager NP8671/Clevo P670SE actually but they are the same, aren't they?), there are option for 16GB DDR3 1600MHz [2x8GB] Dual Channel Memory and 16GB DDR3 1600MHz [2x8GB] Kingston HYPER X (CL9) Dual Channel Memory with $30 price different. So is it worth upgrading?

I think its the edge of the screen itself from underneath the bezel. The only metallic part of it.

I'll try that, but don't have much hope left.

I have checked screen protectors available online in UK but from reading reviews it seems almost impossible to apply them without getting trapped air bubbles. Might just be easier and less hassle to buy an entirely new screen.

Anyone know if MYSN (only seller in UK that stocks the matte Sharp 4K display) will sell and ship parts independently?

Air bubbles are a joke to remove. Just squeeze it out using my steps listed above. A credit card's edge should be able to do the trick, or some hard plastic material that isn't sharp on edges. The easiest is of course just exchanging it with a matte one. Can ask your reseller.

Nah, they definitely don't stock the matte version of the Sharp display. They don't even stock the glossy version anymore either. Not sure why. I've sent an email to MYSN just to enquire whether they would be willing to sell me just the matte display but I doubt they will. Searched the internet far and wide for any retailer stocking the matte Sharp panel but no luck.

If you can do it then I guess it's worth a try. I could buy two of these (just in case I mess up the first application) and give it a go following your instructions: http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/...act_title_2?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A1YECW4LIT5DCL

Really expensive though. Hope that means that they're decent quality.

They do work quite well. The problem with installation is that not everyone knows how to do it properly. I learned by installing screen protectors on phones and handheld gaming devices (3DS, Vita, iPhone + tempered glass).

A steamy environment reduces dust getting caught under the film. Always make sure the covers and screen are dust free as possible before install. The tape should hold the film on the screen for alignment and for ease of access, especially when peeling the tape will secure it on the spot. After you get the film on the screen, you use a card to squeeze the bubbles by brushing them to the side using some force. If there is any chance of a very tiny dust particle (not one that's large to cause bumps), you can keep brushing it until its gone (the film is made to sit completely flat and removes all air such as how mine looks).

Remember that the film has a front and backside with the back usually being for sticking to the material and the front is just a cover. Dont remove front cover until after the air bubble removal step.

I've ordered two anti-glare screen covers. Just in case I mess up the first application!

MYSN rep has also said he can ask production if they have a spare matte panel that they'd be willing to sell individually, but made it clear that the likelihood is fairly low.

I ordered a new lcd for my 8651 to replace the TN one, but the minute I put the cheap bezel back on, I start getting tremendous yellow bleed which is obviously from the pressure of the bezel itself... I'm not sure what exactly to do.. I've tried a loose install/re-seating it...any users have some sort of a remedy????? I'm using the laptop without the bezel at the moment lol...

I've decided to use driver verifier to see if it can find any drivers causing BSOD and it found fpwinio.sys by Egis Technology which caused a DRIVER VERIFIER DETECTED VIOLATION. I've tried to reinstall my fingerprint scanner driver from Eurocom, but that seemed to do nothing. Any ides what I can do? Perhaps I should try the clevo drivers?

I'm in the same boat. Tight fitting bezel. Well, my bleed is more white(ish) than yellow, but it's definitely there when I look at it in a dark room.

Hence why the glossiness has become such an issue. If I look at it in the dark to eliminate reflections then I notice the bleeding. If I look at it under fairly light conditions to mask the bleeding I see distracting reflections. Can't win at the moment, which is why it'd be great if they can sell me a new panel. Or if I can somehow apply the anti-glare cover without any bubbles (not usually good at that though).

Anyway, I'll try Meaker's suggestion tonight and report back here if it helps at all with the bleeding.

you need to fix the screen really well, not make it loose.
make sure nothing is "pushing" the screen, like a bended edp cable, a pile of duct tape etc.

Hmm...maybe this might shed some light in pin-pointing the issue. In device manager, do you have any "unknown" devices that lack a driver or anything of that sort (or signs indicating that)? If so, double click on the device, go to <details> and please report back with the Hardware ID from the drop-down.

Also in device manager, check Biometric Devices and please report back the driver version for the "Egis Tec Fingerprint Sensor" device there. Lastly, since I assume you bought your P65xSx from Eurocom, is there a Security Devices section in device manager under which it says "Trusted Platform Module 2.0," without any signs indicative of driver issues/incompatibility?

Hummm is anybody here under with ubuntu installed on their p65xx? I have the impression that the cpu fan never kicks up to 100%, even when reaching over 90-95C
