 excusez-moi?

octiceps' abrasively, charming nature takes some getting used to, if you care. I think he meant that, if possible, Prema would need to include such an edit in the next version of his firmware for the system (if he so wishes to do another one). The "whoosh" was the sound of that flying over your head. Honestly I don't get why the keyboard back light thing is such an issue for you. It does that on start-up in my P650SG as well but it goes off automatically once I bypass the log-in screen, maybe even before...IDK since it doesn't bother me in the slightest. Ok listen, you don't even have to know my reasons behind my questions about the subject here as well as i haven't asked yours. If you think that i'm here only to let some vague messages "fly above my head" and figure out what should i write back to replys like "unplug the led cable" then i have to say goodbye and get help from somewhere else where people don't joke me around when they dont know the answers. I tried, i really tried

I know Prema is indisposed at the moment, but he may be able to do something. Not sure if he can go so far as having LCD backlight turned off at boot, but if anyone could do it, he could. martastic likes this.

Meaker@Sager Company RepresentativeIf you describe the issue there may be some other work around.

I have order a P771ZM broadwell with 980M Gsync. I do not have the Gsync option in the nvidia panel.... :-/ They put a Gsync stickers on the laptop. I have set a 75 Hertz refrech in the screen setting to test it and it worked. I have played Sniper elite 3 in order to try ingame and it worked too. Now i'm back to default. The interest of Gsync is that the screen refrech is command by the gpu and changes conteniously... not blocked at 75 HTZ (nor 60).... if anyone knows why i do not have the option in nvidia panel i'll take it. The guy in the support said "it should work" .. No kidding... Sorry for my english i'm french.

Don't mean to stray off topic, and I'm not replying to ego-stroke but I have to state my perspective. Firstly, there was no question mark anywhere in my response (and I edited nothing) so I never asked you about your reasons. No one did. So funny because my response literally defines the "vague message" that prompted your "excusez-moi?" Guess I'll avoid literal translations from now on, on more levels than one. As for "unplug the LED cable," I can't speak for @Captain_Bobby but I think that was a joke ("LOL"), and not a personal attack. Chill, laugh a little. No one is chasing you away from NBR because that's not what's done on here but to each his/her own. Regardless, I hope you find a workaround for your issue.Captain_Bobby likes this.

Prema won't touch the EC. This is a no go route. Find something else or deal until in windows!
Edit: the unplug it is valid. Remove the keyboard. There is the ribbon for it and the second connection for the led lighting. Unplug that from the motherboard. Done, answered, and forward ho!
Edit 2: http://repo.palkeo.com/clevo-mirror/P770ZM/ Go here and get the service manual! Look at 1-10 to find the Keyboard LED connector (number 6 on the page). Then turn to page 2-13. Follow the instructions, then disconnect the LED connector (number 15 on page 2-14) and close it back up. No more LED (or it should stop your LED problem).Last edited: Jul 21, 2015Mr Najsman, E.D.U. and Captain_Bobby like this.

Meaker@Sager Company RepresentativeTry grabbing the latest nvidia drivers or the latest set from sager/clevo.
-

Yes. Stock drivers from Clevo should show G-sync. Latest drivers from nvidia.com should as well. If it doesn't show then send it back, they may not have activated the G-sync license key in your BIOS.

I just noticed an odd behavior in my NP9773. If I leave my Logitech mouse receiver plugged in the right hand USB port, my Logitech headset receiver plugged in the left side USB port keeps disconnecting periodically. If I move the mouse dongle to the left side next to the headset receiver it doesn't disconnect. Kinda sucks because that takes up two of my USB ports on the left. Would be nice for it to work on the right too. And surprised there's no USB port on the back either.
-
Meaker@Sager Company RepresentativeIs that port on a little daughter board? Could be a small driver conflict due to the different arangement.
-

I'll have to take a look

Does anyone here know where I can find replacement keys for this model laptop? My "I" key gets stuck occasionally if it's pressed in a certain spot, and it drives me absolutely insane. The key remains functional, but seeing as I just got this laptop a few weeks ago, I'm a little upset to already run into a faulty key.
I tried laptopkey.com, but they don't have the model, and the most recent Sager model they did have didn't have the same key as this one.

Anyone having high dpc latency after about 1 hour?

I don't know what is causing it. I used the driver CD provided by RJTech, then I even used drivermagician to update drivers further.

Just seeing if anyone else has this problem?
-

Wired or wireless? Possible router, network driver. A particular program showing the issue but not necessarily the cause, torrent for example?
 Have you tried this?
 http://www.sysnative.com/forums/win...c-latency-issues-wpa-windows-vista-7-8-a.html
-

 Thank you for the reply.

The router is a AC1900, never had a problem with any other device on my network. It's only this P770ZM-G that has started.
I use dpc-lat.exe and it does spike to red areas after about an hour. I used to have a DPC latency problem with an older PC, ended up being the chipset driver, just had to downgrade it.

I'll give that link a shot, no idea there were ways to actually diagnose what is causing it.

Hmm, seems my USB issue isn't fixed. Still getting random disconnects of my headphones. Does not do it on my desktop or P650SE... grrr.
-
Meaker@Sager Company Representativecould you get a little extender for the other side so it does not block both ports?
-

 Who are you responding to?
-

 Oh Meaker
-
Meaker@Sager Company RepresentativeOh is yours doing it on all ports?
-

yessir. Unfortunately. I've made sure all USB root hub devices were deselected for "allow the computer to turn off this device to save power". This fixed an issue with my kids' laptops where their mouses kept turning off if sitting idle for a bit. Figured that might have been part of it. But nope. No rhyme or reason, it just disconnects.

Could it be a chipset driver issue perhaps? I hope I don't need a whole new motherboard.
-
Meaker@Sager Company RepresentativeMaybe but it's not a common thing I have heard of which driver issues usually are. A clean install can't hurt though.
-

I've already done a half a dozen clean installs for various reasons and still an issue. Likely a hardware issue then I think. That sucks. Means a mobo swap may be in order. I doubt Sager would let me do that operation myself. I'll have to see if they'll swap mobo, but I think for that they'll want the whole thing back. I doubt Sager would let me do that operation myself. I'll have to see if they'll swap mobo, but I think for that they'll want the whole thing back.

But mouse doesn't seem to ever cut out. Maybe it's a power draw thing. Maybe I'll try a large file transfer to a USB HDD and see if it chokes too. I can't imagine my USB dongle would draw much power though.

I don't get the USB disconnect/reconnect sound either. It just stops providing audio.

Meh, still have my trusty P650SE if I need to send it in. Problem is my headset is here. I'm not sending that in with it.

 EDIT:
Sounds like it is a logitech driver issue: http://www.reddit.com/r/techsupport/comments/2txhee/anyone_have_old_2011_drivers_for_the_logitech/

I'll give it a go and see what happens. Weird if it works though since I was using same drivers on other machines and was working fine.Last edited: Jul 26, 2015

Meaker@Sager Company RepresentativeVery likely, there are not many users like yourself out there able to do it safely.

Seems it was drivers all along. Had to dig up some older drivers and has been running flawlessly since. C'mon Logitech, get your act together! Mr Najsman, Prema and Bullrun like this.

Which Logitech peripheral is this? I don't think I've ever used a Logitech product that absolutely required a driver installation. All of them were PnP and worked fine with Windows generic drivers.

 Good day clevo experts!

I would like to ask for small help.

Recently after shuting my (Sager NP9772-S (Clevo P770ZM) down, next day i have recieved message that my CMOS battery is faulty or was replaced. That resulted on my raid 0 becoming unavailible and i had to reinstall windows. Now im getting this message each time im not creafull enogh to keep it on AC power. Luckuly windows on non raid disk stays.

Was not able to find, what cmos battery i should buy and replace.

 Thanks.

Logitech G930 headset. Never had an issue. had one for four years until it just started falling apart. Newer one was fine until recently. But I guess since I used latest drivers from Logitech it is the issue. Now this older driver (and it's old, like from 2011) works, but it gives me an error on bootup but it still works. I did find a couple other sets of drivers that I will try though. They don't keep an archive at Logitech. Well they do, just not a list to them so you need to know specifically which version number to look for.

And if you want to program your Logitech mouse you need their software as well if you have a gaming one.
-

Oh I see, that's a wireless gaming headset. Looks like you need the LGS for virtual 7.1 surround.

If you continue to have trouble with the software, another option is to forget about it and install Razer Surround. It's free and works with all stereo headphones/headsets incl. USB ones like your G930.

Yeah I have a G602 so I know about LGS. I only install the software one time so I can program my custom settings into the onboard memory and then uninstall it, although not bothering with LGS and using the mouse's default settings works too.HTWingNut likes this.

Meant how did you get your heatsink so flat?
-

Does anyone else have lower 3d mark 11 scores on Windows 10 build 10240?
-

 Heatsink is so flat
 I must only polish it.
-

Anyone got a SM951 in their laptop?

I just ordered a SM951 NVMe 512gb, but I heard it gets super hot. Is this going to be a problem with the P770ZM? I'm thinking of going to home depot and getting a heat dissipater (like a marble surface) to put the laptop on to help with the heat problem.
-

Oh, you meant the heatspreader on the CPU was concave, not the heatsink. Hmm I should check to see if mine is the same.
-

Really Razer software works with any USB headsets even 7.1? If I didn't want/need wireless I know I'd have much better options. I may have to give that Razer Surround software and see how it does.

Yes it gets hot and it throttles fairly easily. If Sager provides you with a couple thermal pads, use them. I had a hard time getting through a 1000MB data set run of Crystal Disk Mark without them. It needs some kind of active cooling though with an actual heatsink.

The SM951 will run up to 80C fairly quickly with sequential read/writes and then just drop through the floor in performance until temps drop below 80C. It also idles at about 48-50C. Mine isn't NVMe though, but same thing as far as temps go.
-
Meaker@Sager Company RepresentativeYes they will still run hot as it's simply down the amount of processing the controller is having to do.
-

Yeah, you can select your audio source in the settings, just change it to your USB headset or whatever.

Your G930 headset is not 7.1, it is stereo (one driver per ear) with simulated surround. Those true 7.1 headsets with like 4 little drivers in each ear are gimmicks and terrible.
-
Meaker@Sager Company RepresentativeInteresting that they have not locked out the software.
-

Yes my heatspreader on the CPU was concave.
-

ugh **** ok so should I invest in some either thremal pads or very small heatsinks? I have no idea how much space there is to add cooling in the M.2 slot
-

Where did you order it from?
-

Has anyone got or completed the Windows 10 upgrade? And any comment on how stable or any performance changes on this laptop?

My P771ZM is rock solid on 8.1, just wondering if the upgrade stops any Clevo drivers from operating, or Intels XTU?

 Mick

 That are some crazy results!!!

 Great improvement indeed!
