Guys, maybe I'm gonna sound a bit retarded, but, how can I plug my P775 with digitial audio cable? I mean there are 4 connectors, one of them for 7.1 (i want only 5.1, I'm trying to plug the laptop to Logitech Z906 5.1 Speakers) but digital audio cable are always 1v1 not 1v3 like documentation says:
Plug the front speaker cables into the Headphone-Out Jack.
    6. Plug in the other cables (you may require an adapter to connect each cable to the appropriate jack e.g a stereo mini to dual RCA adapter) from your speakers as follows: • Line-In Jack = Rear Speaker Out • Microphone-In Jack = Center/Subwoofer Speaker Out • S/PDIF-Out Jack = Side Speaker Out (for 7.1 Surround Sound Only)
    7. As you plug in each cable a dialog box will pop up.
    8. Click to put a check in the appropriate box according to the speaker plugged-in (e.g. Rear Speaker Out), and then click OK to save the setting.

Could someone show me an example of what kind of cable I need? Thank you!

    PS: maybe this one??? https://www.amazon.es/gp/product/B01M07LSH5

You would be best using optical if it accepts it, that needs a headphone to optical cable.

The big shiny port in the dark, aka the headphone jack. Its an output on the machine and should be an input on your reciever.

    Hello.
I'm owner of P751DM2-G laptop with 6700k and 1060. Recently i bought 2x8gb of ripjaws 3000mhz ram. With nominal 2400mhz everything works great (memtest passed 4 times) but when i only change profil to xmp/xmp2 the system is very unstable (bsod). Memtest with this profile showed a lot of errors in #6 test. Will be greatfull for some help.

Anyone received the latest bios update for the meltdown and spectre because Eurocom has been really slow at releasing them. Twice I asked them this year and twice they said they don't have it.

Hi there. I have a P751DM2-G laptop with 7700k cpu and gtx 1070. I also have 16gb of ram oc to 2666Mgz, a 265gb pcie ssd from Liteon as a system disk and two 1tb HDDs for storage. I've just added another nvme ssd to expand my storage for games and encountered rather weird and annoying issue with it. The disk is Kingston sa1000m8/480g and it runs flawless once it boots but it has problem with cold booting. When I turn on my laptop after shutdown it doesn't get detected at all neither in bios nor in Windows 10. But if I restart the system or just instantaneously reset the pc after switching on the power button before even booting into windows the disk shows up without a problem. I tried to troubleshoot the issue, to no avail unfortunately.

I tried resetting bios to defaults, cleared cmos completely. I also unplugged all other disks switched the m2 slots, reinstalled windows... I thought the disk was only detectable once booted into windows but it turned out that even without any os installed it can still show up when I perform reset after unsuccessful cold boot. So now I'm at a loss. I also updated the firmware on the ssd but it had no effect on the issue.

Maybe someone may help me with my problem. Any suggestions will be highly appreciated.

Could be Windows 10 "Fast Startup" mode screw it up for you... Try disable it.

I have already tried that, too. Fast startup is off, hibernate as well. Besides I don't think that's the culprit as the problem with cold boot with that disk still occurs even with no os installed. It just doesn't get detected after first boot after shutdown. But if I press ctrl+alt+del and warm boot it appears in bios every time. I can obviously do that every time but it's kind of annoying and the desktop icons of games installed on that disk turn blank as the shortcuts lead to nowhere when the drive is not detected...

I swapped ports, the ssd works normally when installed in my desktop. It appears as though it needs slightly more time to get detected. Hence the cold boot issue maybe... If I only knew how to setup a delay in bios to wait a couple of seconds for the detection. Actually when I hit ctrl+alt+del immediately after starting the computer it shows up at once. But this workaround is rather irritating...

I'd report the bug to the SSD manufacturer, sounds like a firmware conflict of some sort.

Can I just check if anybody else has been able to use their laptop to drive dual 4k (3840x2160) monitors?

    Edit: P775-DM3G / GTX-1080 / 6700K

I've got 2 x Philips BDM4065 40" monitors and have never been able to successfully use these at 4k. Everytime I try putting one up, the display settings in windows just behaves incredibly wackily with freezing behaviour, screens disappearing and then when unplugged and replugged half the resolutions are no longer available and it typically requires a cold boot to recover from.

Either monitor on its own works fine at 4k from either mini-display port.

It's never really been an issue as I use them at WQXGA instead, although even then I cannot seem to use my laptop screen. If I open the laptop screen, I get similarly wacky behaviour. The odd thing about this is that at work I do use 2 x Dell 30" (I *think* U3014?) and my laptop screen works fine.

However, recently I have been wishing for more real estate for some specific work tasks (fairly hellish data trawling unfortunately) so was hoping to take advantage of this.

I'm not fully on top of the world of monitors but my suspicion is the the Philips is exporting weird or non-compliant EDID information. But this is fairly uneducated speculation on my part.

Sorry for the late reply - I am using the mini-DP cables that came with the monitors.

I thought mentioned this but either monitor works FINE at 4k 60hz on it's own (i.e. if it is the only monitor plugged into the laptop), using it's own cable. The crazy behaviour only occurs when both are plugged in at the same time and I try to ramp either one up to 4k.

Based on that I assumed both cables are fun - unless things are so marginal that cable interference is occurring?

The fact that I can (a) run both monitors at WQXGA resolution but then can't use the laptop monitor but can still (b) run dual dell 30" at WQXGA AND use my laptop monitor at 4k, suggests to me something else.

    Thanks!

The heatsink came from a PC motherboard, I had to lower it's height in order for it to fit in the chassis. I also used a thermal pad between the chassis and heatsink because there is almost no airflow, and it improves a bit the temp.

At the first moment I experienced a drop of almost 20C (it was ~60C and became ~40C). But under heavy load the temps were 15-20C lower than without the heatsink.

P.S. does anyone know how to calibrate the sound from the audio driver in order to eliminate some frequencies which have a unpleasant resonance? Or, is there a difference in audio driver between P775 series and P751?

For most people the SB temp wont really impact them, only if you have LARGE amounts of i/o for extended periods. Just a pad would likely do the same job.

Is there any LCD that is compatible with my laptop with g-sync and 120hz or 144Hz?? I'm using Obsidian's BIOS and EC by the way!

    Thanks in advance

PS: I did sent @ John@OBSIDIAN-PC a PM but still didn't had a reply on it thats why i'm posting here in case anyone else knows

    edit: formatting

Sorry again for delay. Spend a lot of time interstate on travel.

Yes, the same thing happens in that windows display settings starts acting incredibly erratically and inconsistently. I just tried and the following happened:
    1. Initial state was the 2 x 4k monitors running at WQXGA. Laptop monitor is disabled (lid is closed)
    2. Set monitor #2 to 4k res. Screens flicker black and then comes back and appears to work. At this point #2 is at 4k, #1 is at WQXGA
    3. Set monitor #1 to 4k res. #1 monitor goes black and does not return. Windows display shows that it THINKS that both monitors are working fine at 4k. Windows display looks like this: https://imgur.com/YbXbYqj - I'd stress - monitor #1 is not physically showing anything.
    4. I don't do anything and after a while #2 goes black and then comes back at 4k, #1 is still off. However, now windows display has changed the available modes. #1 looks like this: https://imgur.com/tcnC1zQ - note that I have selected the list of available resolutions - WQXGA res has disappeared. #2 looks like this: https://imgur.com/gd7bNJs

At this stage my display setup is basically screwed and seems to be incredibly confused. When I plug both monitors in windows tries to go to the last setting that it THINKS has worked ,even though it doesn't, and then randomly changes things (as per step 4) and generally acts erratically. I don't fully understand the behaviour of Windows so I usually just do a series of cold boots (as in a full power down, which sometimes produces better results than simply restarting) and unplug and replug cables until I can just get to a point where I can run dual WQXGA with the lid closed, which is the best I seem to be able to do. This can take hours or days often I give up and just use a single monitor for a while.

    Here's one such funky setup:
    • Monitor 1 (as shown in Windows settings) is Laptop screen. It is fine: https://imgur.com/IITFNEz
    • Monitor 2 is my physically left monitor (sorry, it is what I referred to as #1 in the example 2 paragraphs above - although that is also what windows settings calls it at that stage). As you can see the acceptable resolutions are all over the shop and not correct: https://imgur.com/ucEDQs9
    • Monitor 3 is my physically right monitor. The resolutions it can do are fine: https://imgur.com/c73YPCg

While in this situation, I just closed my laptop lid. Then Monitor 1 (laptop lid) looks like this: https://imgur.com/02PkYAb .I have no idea what this is. Apparently windows thinks it is still one (note: it isn't) the monitor is on but I don't have a scale and I can't change resolution. Also, while monitor 2 and 3 in settings looks identical to the above, monitor 3 is now running at 4k despite saying it is running at WQXGA!

    Windows is basically confused AF.

I'd stress again that if I have either single monitor plugged in to either mini-dp port it works fine. I can use it with or without laptop panel, set resolutions willy nilly. The erratic behaviour happens when both are plugged in.

So I know Prema has made bios that allows 8th gen chips on z170, does anyone know if the mod is in the official Prema bios for the p750dm2 or is that something I would have to try and get personally from Prema himself?
Also, not sure if that mod would work with 9th gen as well, looking at the 9900k or 9700k if possible.

Wish I knew this and if @Prema was willing to sell me his bios so I could use the 8th generation or even the 9 :(
I'm seriously so pissed with the guy that stole @Prema work...

Why can't people have nice things and not f*ck everyone up?
